Huawei and Chery’s Luxeed brand launched an updated R7 coupe SUV in China on September 28, 2026. The launch report lists four versions priced from RMB 239,800 to RMB 319,800 and a battery-electric range of up to 855 km on the CLTC test cycle. That lineup differs from the six versions currently shown on Luxeed’s configuration page, so the older page should not be used to fill gaps in the new launch specifications.
What Luxeed announced for the updated R7
CnEVPost reported that Luxeed unveiled the refreshed R7 at a Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance event in China on September 28, 2026. Luxeed is a vehicle brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery. The four versions and prices below are those reported for the China launch, not global pricing.

The report says the new entry price is RMB 20,000 below the predecessor’s starting price. It also describes a two-year interest-free financing offer and time-limited benefits valued at up to RMB 44,500, attributed to Luxeed. These are launch-period offers; check with an authorized seller in China to confirm whether any remain available.
What changed in the R7 refresh
CnEVPost says Luxeed described the update as involving eight upgrades and a 500 million yuan investment. The investment figure and upgrade count are company claims reported by the outlet, not independently verified expenditure.

The launch report gives dimensions of 4,982 mm long and 1,981 mm wide, with height reported as either 1,634 mm or 1,650 mm, and a 2,950 mm wheelbase. The two height figures are both reported; the available launch information does not explain the difference.
Battery-electric range and powertrain details
The reported maximum range for the battery-electric R7 is 855 km on China’s CLTC cycle. CLTC is a test-cycle figure, not a promise of the distance a vehicle will cover in everyday driving; actual range varies with conditions and use.

CnEVPost reports that the battery-electric version uses Huawei’s 800 V Giant Whale platform and a single rear motor rated at up to 227 kW. For the extended-range version, the report says the powertrain hardware is retained, with adjustments to chassis and power-delivery calibration. It does not provide a complete, confirmed September-refresh trim-by-trim specification sheet for battery capacity, acceleration, charging or equipment.
Why Luxeed’s configuration page does not match the launch report
Luxeed’s official configuration page currently shows a different, six-version lineup: BEV Max, Max+ and Ultra, plus extended-range Max, Max+ and Ultra. Its suggested retail prices are RMB 249,800, RMB 269,800 and RMB 309,800 for each powertrain’s three tiers. The page lists BEV CLTC ranges of 667, 802 and 736 km. For extended-range versions, it lists total CLTC figures of 1,570, 1,673 and 1,551 km, with pure-electric ranges of 251, 360 and 331 km.

That table also includes battery capacities of 82 or 100 kWh for BEVs and 37 or 53.4 kWh for extended-range versions, as well as acceleration figures by version. But the page’s six trims, prices and ranges do not match the September 28 report’s four-trim launch, lower starting price and 855 km maximum BEV range. The sources do not reconcile the discrepancy. The configuration page may describe an earlier lineup; its figures should not be presented as specifications for the newly announced models.
For a purchase decision, ask a Luxeed dealer for the current China-market specification and equipment sheet for the exact September refresh version. In particular, confirm battery size, range, charging, acceleration and included driver-assistance equipment rather than inferring them from the older configuration table.

Huawei Qiankun ADS and related safety features should be understood as driver-assistance systems. HIMA’s R7 page says the driver remains responsible, must stay attentive and must be ready to intervene. It also notes that some functions may require an over-the-air update or paid activation, and that actual equipment depends on vehicle configuration. Confirm which functions are included on the specific vehicle and in the relevant market.
