The China-market Stelato S9 has had two distinct updates: a November 2025 refresh with revised styling, dimensions and BEV/EREV pricing, followed by a March 2026 update that reportedly added 896-channel LiDAR and Huawei Qiankun ADS 4. The 2025 version was reported to start at RMB 309,800; its maximum claimed range was 816 km for a BEV or 1,378 km for an EREV on the CLTC cycle. Those are test-cycle figures, not independent real-world results.
What the Stelato S9 is—and which update this covers
The S9 is a premium sedan from Stelato (享界), the China-market joint brand of Huawei and BAIC Group. Huawei’s August 2024 launch material presented it as a flagship, with HarmonyOS 4 in the cabin, Huawei ADS 3.0 driver assistance and an 800-volt DriveONE platform. Those are launch-era descriptions; equipment can vary by version and trim.

There are two dates to keep separate. CnEVPost reported a substantial refresh launched on November 20, 2025. It then reported a further update to the S9 and S9T on March 23, 2026. The later report describes added sensing and driver-assistance technology, not a replacement for the earlier refresh details across every specification.
What changed in November 2025
Exterior and dimensions
CnEVPost reported that the refreshed China-market sedan retained a 5,160 mm length and 3,050 mm wheelbase, while width increased from 1,987 mm to 2,005 mm and height from 1,486 mm to 1,492 mm. It also received a new logo and detail changes to the taillights and doors. These are reported model specifications, not measurements independently verified here.

Prices and powertrains
The November 2025 launch report gave a starting price of RMB 309,800, the same reported starting point as the predecessor’s retail launch. The predecessor had previously been listed at RMB 319,800 for pre-sale; that pre-sale price is not the same comparison as the retail starting price.

BEV specifications and claimed range
CnEVPost reported a 100 kWh ternary-lithium battery for the BEV. The rear-wheel-drive version was listed with a 227 kW motor; an all-wheel-drive version adds a 158 kW front motor. Reported acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.0 seconds or 3.92 seconds, and reported CLTC range is 721 km or 816 km. The report passage does not tie each performance and range figure to a named trim, so those pairs should not be treated as a verified trim-by-trim specification.
EREV specifications and claimed range
The range-extended electric version uses a 1.5-liter range-extender engine and rear-wheel drive, according to the launch report. Battery options are reported as 37 kWh LFP or 100 kWh ternary lithium. CnEVPost gives electric-only CLTC ranges of 260 km or 372 km and full-tank-plus-full-battery combined CLTC ranges of 1,275 km or 1,378 km. These are manufacturer/model-cycle claims as reported by the outlet, not independently measured road results.
What the March 2026 update reportedly adds
In its March 23, 2026 report, CnEVPost said the updated S9 and S9T gained 896-channel image-grade LiDAR, Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 and new exterior colors. The sedan’s update was described as arriving four months after the November refresh.
The same report said BEV versions use an 800-volt platform and a 100 kWh “Giant Whale” battery, with claimed range above 800 km and 30-to-80% charging in 15 minutes. It said EREV versions continue with Huawei’s Xuexiao range-extender system and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The report passage does not provide independent test results, a complete trim breakdown, or a price list for these 2026 configurations; do not assume the November 2025 prices apply unchanged to every later version.

BAIC says the S9 ranked first in the “Interaction Capability” assessment in an intelligent-cockpit evaluation based on standard T/CSAE 322-2023, “Test and Evaluation Methods for Intelligentization Level of Automotive Intelligent Cockpits.” BAIC identifies the China Society of Automotive Engineers and the China Industry Innovation Alliance for the Intelligent and Connected Vehicles as the bodies that released the evaluation report. The BAIC release does not provide the full report or sample details, so the ranking should be read as a manufacturer-reported result rather than a fully reproducible independent comparison.
BAIC also claims 99% voice-assistant wake-up accuracy and describes four-zone voice recognition, Super Desktop 3.0 phone-to-car app integration and gesture control. The 99% figure is BAIC’s published claim; the release does not supply a test protocol or third-party validation. Huawei’s original 2024 launch material additionally described HarmonyOS 4, a rear zero-gravity seat, rear-seat screen, Nappa leather and a projection display. Those launch materials do not establish that every feature was standard on every trim or remains identical on later versions.

How to interpret the range and price figures
- CLTC is a test-cycle rating. The 2025 report’s 816 km BEV maximum and 1,378 km EREV combined maximum are not real-world driving measurements. Real use can differ with speed, weather, terrain, load and driving style.
- EREV combined range includes fuel and battery charge. It is not the distance the car travels on electricity alone; the reported electric-only maximum is 372 km CLTC.
- Prices are China-market reported launch prices. The RMB figures above describe November 2025 versions and are not a quote for export markets, current dealer inventory or a 2026 trim.
- Some figures are not mapped to trims in the available report passage. Do not infer a specific range, acceleration time or battery option solely from the price tier.
