This is a U.S.-only guide. Apple TV’s Formula 1 package is exclusive to the United States for the 2026 season. If you are in the U.S., subscribe to Apple TV, sign in in the Apple TV app—or visit tv.apple.com/sports—search for F1, choose the live session, and select Watch. You do not need an Apple TV streaming box: you can watch from most supported devices.
Every practice session and a selection of race weekends are free in the Apple TV app. To watch the complete season live, including all qualifying, Sprints, and Grands Prix, you need an Apple TV subscription.
What you need before race weekend
- Location: You must be in the United States for Apple TV’s 2026 F1 coverage.
- Subscription: Apple TV for complete live-season coverage. Apple currently lists it at US$12.99 per month and advertises a seven-day trial for eligible new subscribers; confirm the current offer before subscribing.
- Apple Account: Sign in with the same Apple Account used for the subscription.
- A compatible route: the Apple TV app on a supported device, or the web at tv.apple.com/sports.
Apple TV hardware, such as an Apple TV 4K box, is optional. It can be a particularly good living-room choice, but it is not required to watch F1.
Start watching F1 in the Apple TV app
- Open the Apple TV app, or go to tv.apple.com/sports on a computer.
- Sign in with the Apple Account that has the Apple TV subscription.
- Search for F1, or open the Formula 1 destination.
- Select the current practice, qualifying session, Sprint, Grand Prix, or replay.
- Select Watch.
If a session is marked free, you may be able to watch it without a subscription. If you want reliable access to the entire championship, including every live race session, use an active Apple TV subscription.

How to watch on your device
iPhone and iPad
Install or open Apple TV, sign in, search for F1, and select the live session or replay. Apple’s F1 guidance identifies iOS 26.2 or later for this Apple-device route. An iPad is also one of the supported devices for F1 Multiview.
Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
From the Home Screen, open Apple TV, search for F1, select the event, and choose Watch. For Formula 1 support on an Apple TV box, Apple lists Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD running tvOS 26.2 or later. Update the box first if the F1 destination does not appear.
The third-generation Apple TV is not listed in Apple’s Formula 1 support guidance. An Apple TV 4K is the TV-box option for Multiview; Apple TV HD is not listed for that feature.

Mac, Windows PC, Chromebook, or another computer
Open tv.apple.com/sports, sign in, search for F1, and start the selected live stream or replay. Apple documents web access for Mac, Windows PCs, and Chrome OS. For the named Mac app route, Apple specifies macOS Tahoe 26.2 or later.

Browser and playback capability can vary by computer and software version, so use the Apple TV web player rather than assuming a particular browser or resolution is supported.
Android phone or tablet
On an eligible Android mobile device, install the Apple TV app from Google Play. Sign in with the subscribed Apple Account, then use Search or the Formula 1 section to find the session. Eligibility depends on the device and app version, so check the Play Store listing for your specific device rather than relying on a generic Android-version requirement.
Smart TV, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation, or Xbox
Find Apple TV in the device’s app store, install it, open it, and sign in. Apple identifies supported smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO, TCL, and others, plus Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Use the included F1 TV Premium benefit
U.S. Apple TV subscribers can also use F1 TV Premium at no extra cost. If you prefer F1 TV’s interface, link the Apple Account used for Apple TV at f1.com/apple.
This benefit is for U.S. Apple TV subscribers. Do not buy a separate U.S. F1 TV Premium subscription before checking the included access, and do not assume the same plan, feeds, stream limits, or availability applies in another territory.
Replays, live feeds, sound, and Multiview
Watch a race after it ends
Apple TV provides full replays and highlights. In the F1 destination, use Past Races, then choose Recap for highlights or Watch for the full replay.
Use Multiview on supported hardware
Multiview can show up to four simultaneous feeds, but it is not available everywhere Apple TV runs. Apple specifically supports it on Apple TV 4K, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro with compatible software. Do not expect it on every smart TV, web browser, Android device, or Apple TV HD.

Choose commentary or another live feed
English and Spanish commentary are available. Depending on the session and device, the F1 destination can also offer onboard cameras, Data, Driver Tracker, Podium feeds, and other live views. These extras can vary by event and playback device, so check the available options after opening the session.
Find the next session without relying on a static schedule
Open the Formula 1 destination in Apple TV to view its schedule, or search for F1 before the event. Practice, qualifying, Sprint, and race times change by venue and time zone; use the current event page rather than an old published schedule.

If you are outside the United States
Apple TV’s 2026 Formula 1 arrangement is not a worldwide viewing instruction. F1 TV services and Formula 1 broadcast rights vary by territory, and access outside a viewer’s home territory can be restricted. Use Formula 1’s official broadcaster directory and your local listings to identify the legitimate service in your country. This guide does not recommend VPNs or other methods of bypassing territorial rights.

Optional hardware: Apple TV 4K
An Apple TV 4K is worth considering only if you want its television interface and the documented TV-side Multiview option. It is not a prerequisite for the F1 season: iPhone, iPad, computers, eligible Android devices, supported smart TVs, streamers, consoles, and the web can all provide an Apple TV viewing route when compatible.

Multiview supports up to four feeds on compatible Apple TV 4K, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro hardware. It is not listed for every smart TV, browser, Android device, or Apple TV HD.
