A compatible E-208 can use Peugeot’s integrated Trip Planner, which considers remaining range, energy consumption and charging stations on the route. If your car does not provide that embedded feature, Peugeot’s e-ROUTES service can plan the journey on a phone and may mirror guidance to the vehicle screen.
The exact menu names and order vary by model year, trim, country, software and service eligibility. Use the workflow below as a safe setup method, then follow the labels shown on your own car rather than assuming that an older 208 handbook matches a current E-208.

Check what your E-208 actually supports
Before entering a destination, identify the navigation equipment installed in the car and whether the relevant connected service is active. Peugeot distinguishes between i-Connect and i-Connect Advanced. Peugeot describes i-Connect Advanced as including connected TomTom navigation, while i-Connect provides wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Those descriptions do not mean every E-208 has the same route-planning or charging-stop screens.

The trim name alone may not tell you which software is fitted, because equipment can vary between markets and production periods. Peugeot’s current E-208 information also presents connected features progressively, so a service shown on a product page may still depend on vehicle eligibility, activation and software version.

- Make sure the vehicle has a reliable data connection before relying on live station information.
- If the feature is absent, prepare to use e-ROUTES or another route planner and keep the vehicle’s charging connector and charging limits in mind.
Peugeot lists an E-208 WLTP range of 217 to 268 miles depending on version. WLTP is a standardized test figure, not a promise for a particular motorway trip, winter journey or fully loaded car. A route planner’s predicted arrival charge is therefore more useful than treating the headline range as a fixed distance.
What the Peugeot route-planning options do
| Option | Where it runs | Charging information described by Peugeot | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Integrated Trip Planner | Compatible vehicle infotainment | Uses remaining range, distance, battery level, electric consumption and charging stations to calculate a route and charging needs. | Availability and controls depend on equipment, software, region and connected-service eligibility. |
| Connected charging information | Embedded connected navigation where supported | Can show compatible charging terminals and the number of available plugs along the route and at the destination. | Station coverage and live availability are service-dependent; a displayed plug can become occupied. |
| e-ROUTES | Phone app/service, with possible vehicle-screen mirroring | Can suggest intermediate charging stops, show estimated charge at arrival, display charging-plug availability, add waypoints and apply route preferences. | Peugeot says delivery is progressive. Check current availability and eligibility before a trip. |
| Older Connect Nav interface | Some earlier 208 systems | The 2018 handbook documents address entry and guidance criteria. | It does not establish the current E-208 Trip Planner path or where to add a charging stop. |
Peugeot describes the integrated feature in its E-208 FAQ and features. Its connected-navigation terms explain the charging-terminal and plug-availability information, while the e-ROUTES service page and the corresponding e-ROUTES terms describe the phone-based alternative.
How to set up a route with the integrated Trip Planner
Peugeot confirms what the planner takes into account, but the available official material does not verify one universal, current touch-screen sequence for every E-208. Use these steps in order, selecting the closest label on your own display.
- Start with the car stationary. Turn on the infotainment system and wait for navigation and connected-service status to load. Do not enter a destination while driving.
- Open the navigation or electric-vehicle route-planning function. Look for Navigation, Trip Planner, EV route planning or a battery/charging icon. If the system opens only a conventional map, check the vehicle’s feature list and connected-service status before assuming that Trip Planner is installed.
- Enter the destination. Search by address, place name or saved location. Verify the country, town and street because a similar place name can create a route in the wrong area.
- Set the starting battery information if requested. Some systems can read the current state of charge automatically; others may ask for a value or a departure estimate. Use the displayed vehicle value rather than guessing from the WLTP range.
- Review the proposed journey. The planner should calculate whether the remaining range is sufficient and, when necessary, insert charging stops. Peugeot says its calculations consider distance, battery level, electric consumption and charging needs and time.
- Open each proposed stop. Inspect the station name, connector compatibility shown by the system, location on the route and any displayed plug-availability count. Treat the count as live service information, not a reservation.
- Check the arrival-charge estimate. A route that technically reaches a charger may leave little energy for a detour, a closed access road or a queue. If the planner offers a target arrival charge or another station, choose the option that leaves a practical margin for conditions.
- Accept the route only after checking the sequence. Confirm that the first stop is reachable from your actual departure point and that later stops follow the intended direction. Then start guidance.
The planner may recalculate as conditions change. A recalculation is not necessarily an error: a lower-than-expected battery level, changed consumption estimate, traffic delay or charging-station status can alter the recommended stop. Let the system finish calculating before turning toward a newly suggested station.

How to review charging-stop details before leaving
A charging stop is useful only if the site can serve your car at the time you arrive. For every suggested stop, check the information that the vehicle actually displays rather than assuming that every public station is represented.
- Station identity and access: confirm the address and that it is on your side of the route. Service-area sites can have separate entrances or opening arrangements.
- Compatible terminal information: use the connector and charging details shown by the system as a screening check. If the display does not provide the detail, consult the station operator’s current information before committing to a long detour.
- Plug count or availability: Peugeot’s UK connected-navigation terms describe showing the number of available plugs at some compatible terminals. Availability can change between the time it is reported and the time you arrive.
- Arrival charge: compare the predicted state of charge with the distance to the next reliable stop. A very low predicted arrival level leaves less flexibility for weather, speed, traffic or a missed turn.
- Charging time: Peugeot quotes approximately 25 to 27 minutes for a 20%–80% recharge at a high-power public fast-charging station. That is a manufacturer figure, not a guaranteed duration for your vehicle, station, battery temperature or queue.
Do not interpret a station marker as proof that a charger is operating, accessible to the public or free when you arrive. Recheck the information immediately before departure and again during a long trip when the system refreshes it.
Planning the same journey with Peugeot e-ROUTES
e-ROUTES is the practical alternative when you prefer to plan away from the embedded system or your E-208 does not expose the integrated Trip Planner. Peugeot describes it as a service that can optimize a route through intermediate charging stops, estimate the charge at arrival, show charging-plug availability, add waypoints and apply preferences. It may mirror guidance to the vehicle multimedia screen.
- Confirm eligibility and current functions. Check the e-ROUTES service page and the service status associated with your vehicle and country. Peugeot says feature delivery is progressive, so the options shown in one account or market may not be identical to another.
- Open e-ROUTES before driving. Enter the destination and any waypoints, then set the route preferences offered by the current version of the service.
- Review the suggested charging stops. Examine each station, the estimated charge on arrival and the displayed plug-availability information. Remove a stop that is inaccessible or replace it with another offered location when the app permits.
- Send or mirror the route to the car. Use the connection method supported by your E-208. Peugeot says e-ROUTES can be mirrored to the vehicle multimedia screen, but the exact pairing and display behavior depend on the car and phone.
- Keep the route synchronized. Start guidance from the active route and avoid running a second navigation app that could issue conflicting turns. If the phone connection drops, stop safely and verify the route on the available screen before continuing.
The official e-ROUTES terms are available at Peugeot’s UK connected-services document. The service description is at services-store.peugeot.co.uk/store/e-routes. Neither page should be read as a guarantee that every E-208, phone, country or software build has every listed function.

Choosing between embedded Trip Planner and e-ROUTES
| Decision point | Integrated Trip Planner | e-ROUTES |
|---|---|---|
| Primary screen | Vehicle infotainment | Phone, with possible mirroring to the vehicle display |
| Battery data | Designed to use the vehicle’s remaining range and consumption inputs | Shows an estimated charge at arrival when the service supports the vehicle and route |
| Charging-stop planning | Calculates stops around range and charging needs | Guides through optimized intermediate charging stops and supports waypoints and preferences |
| Live station detail | May show compatible terminals and available-plug counts through connected navigation | May show charging-plug availability in the service |
| Main dependency | Fitted infotainment, connected navigation and eligible service access | Current app/service availability, compatible vehicle and phone connection |
| Best use | Continuous in-car guidance without changing screens | Advance planning or cars without the embedded EV planner |
There is no universal winner. Embedded planning keeps the route tied to the car’s navigation and battery information. e-ROUTES can be more convenient for preparing a trip before entering the vehicle and can provide a fallback when the fitted system lacks the required feature. Select the option your car and account actually support, then verify the first stop manually.
Battery warming and cold-weather charging
Peugeot’s 2026 UK connected-services terms describe battery warming for eligible electric vehicles produced after March 2025 when a DC fast-charging station is set as a stop or destination, the outdoor temperature is below 15°C and the battery level is above 20%. All three conditions matter: production eligibility, the selected DC station and destination, temperature and battery level. Do not assume that any cold-weather route will precondition the battery.
If your vehicle displays a battery-warming or preconditioning status, allow the route planner to remain active while approaching the selected fast charger. If the option is not shown, use the charging performance information available for your car and station rather than assuming that warming is operating. The terms are published in Peugeot Connected Navigation terms, section 2.

Departure and in-trip checklist
Before you leave
- Confirm the displayed battery percentage and that it matches the planner’s starting value.
- Check the destination, waypoints and order of charging stops.
- Open each stop to review the address, compatible-terminal information and any available-plug count.
- Check the predicted arrival charge at the first stop and at the destination.
- Allow extra time beyond the quoted 25–27-minute 20%–80% fast-charge figure if the station may be busy or the battery is cold.
- Download or otherwise retain enough route information to recover if mobile data becomes unreliable.
During the journey
- Watch the actual battery percentage against the predicted value, especially after motorway driving, hills, heavy rain or low temperatures.
- If consumption is materially higher than expected, stop safely and recalculate before the original reserve disappears.
- Refresh station availability before leaving a charging stop when the system offers current information.
- If a station is full, closed or inaccessible, select another station in the planner rather than navigating to the original marker by habit.
- Keep route changes and phone interaction for a parked location; never operate the navigation screen in a way that distracts you from driving.
Common problems and the safest fix
The Trip Planner option is missing
Check the infotainment identity, vehicle model year, country and connected-service status. A car with i-Connect may provide wireless smartphone projection without the connected TomTom or EV-planning features described for i-Connect Advanced. Consult the handbook matching the vehicle and ask Peugeot support to confirm eligibility instead of applying instructions from another trim.

The map shows a charger but no plug availability
Connected availability is service-dependent. The station may be outside the supported network, the data may be unavailable temporarily or the vehicle may not have the required connected navigation access. Treat the marker as a location only and verify the operator’s current status before making it your sole stop.
The suggested stop is too far away
Check the starting battery value, route profile and predicted arrival charge. Recalculate with the actual state of charge and choose an earlier compatible station if the planner offers one. Do not stretch the route to the nominal WLTP maximum; the published 217–268-mile range varies by E-208 version and test conditions.
e-ROUTES will not mirror to the car
Park safely, confirm that the phone and vehicle are using the supported connection, and verify that the service is enabled for that vehicle and region. If mirroring remains unavailable, keep the route on the phone only when it can be used legally and safely, or transfer the destination to the car’s own navigation.
The displayed station is occupied on arrival
Availability data is a changing report, not a reservation. Open the route planner, select an alternative stop and recalculate the remaining journey. Build a reserve into the first stop so that a short wait or diversion does not leave the battery at an unsafe level.

The screen labels do not match online instructions
The official 2018 208 Connect Nav handbook describes opening Navigation, selecting MENU, entering an address, choosing guidance criteria and starting guidance. Those steps document that older interface only; they do not prove where a current E-208 places Trip Planner or the charging-stop control. Use the handbook for your registration/model year and Peugeot support when the menus differ. The older handbook is at Peugeot’s 2018 208 Connect Nav guide.
What to expect from charging time and range figures
Two manufacturer figures are useful for setting expectations but should not be used as guarantees. The E-208’s stated WLTP range spans 217 to 268 miles depending on version. The quoted approximately 25 to 27 minutes applies to a 20%–80% recharge at a high-power public fast-charging station. Real results vary with battery temperature, charger output, vehicle version, starting state of charge, queueing and whether the station shares power between vehicles.
Plan the stop around the next reliable section of the journey, not around achieving a particular percentage for its own sake. A shorter top-up may be sufficient when the next charger is close; a longer stop may be sensible when the following section has fewer alternatives. Let the planner’s arrival-charge estimate and the station information guide that decision, while retaining enough energy to handle a closed or occupied bay.
