Trim changes can move the price before options
For the 2026 Stingray, Chevrolet lists the following starting prices:

Compare only like-for-like offers
Before ranking quotes, match the model year, model, trim, body style, factory options, colors, VIN or stock number, and availability. Then compare selling price against MSRP, destination, dealer fees, add-ons, taxes, and the final OTD total. A lower advertised vehicle price can be more expensive once mandatory-looking accessories or unusually high dealer fees are added.
Negotiate the vehicle price and dealer charges

Use competing quotes as evidence
Tell the dealer which configuration you are comparing and ask whether it can match or beat a rival’s documented OTD total. Chevrolet’s disclosure that the “Dealer sets final price” means MSRP is a reference point, not a promise of an MSRP transaction. Ask the salesperson to identify which charges are imposed by government or the manufacturer and which are selected by the dealership. Destination freight and government taxes are different from a dealer-installed coating, an accessory package, or a discretionary fee. Do not accept a vague “market adjustment” or “dealer package” without an itemized amount and a clear explanation of whether it is removable.
Keep financing out of the price negotiation
A dealer can make a monthly payment appear attractive by extending the loan term or changing the amount financed. Compare the vehicle’s cash OTD price first, then evaluate financing as a separate transaction.
Get a preapproval where practical
Ask a bank or credit union for a written preapproval showing the APR, loan term, maximum amount financed, and any conditions. The Federal Trade Commission recommends comparing those terms with the dealer’s financing offer because dealer-arranged credit may not be the lowest-cost option.

Compare the complete loan, not just the payment

Do not sign until the purchase agreement and finance contract show the same selling price, fees, down payment, APR, term, and amount financed that you accepted. Ask whether the contract is final and whether any term can change after delivery.

First obtain the Corvette’s OTD price without relying on a trade-in allowance. Then negotiate or evaluate the trade-in as its own number. A high trade allowance can conceal a higher new-car price, while a discount on the Corvette can be offset by an unfavorable trade value.
Gather outside purchase or appraisal offers if available and compare the dealer’s trade figure with them. Make sure the worksheet shows the new-car price, trade allowance, payoff balance if applicable, taxes or credits, and cash due as separate lines. The FTC specifically advises requesting the new-car OTD price even when the dealer has not yet confirmed the trade value.
Decline or price optional dealer add-ons
Dealer add-ons are products or services offered in addition to the Corvette and its required charges. Examples include gap coverage, window etching, extended warranties or service contracts, paint or fabric protection, accessories, and other protection packages.

- What exactly does this product cover?

- VIN, model, trim, body style, and equipment match the quoted vehicle.
- Vehicle selling price matches the negotiated figure.
- Destination and every dealer fee are identified.
- Dealer-installed products appear only if you accepted them.
- Taxes, title, license, and registration charges match your jurisdiction.
- Trade allowance and payoff are correct and separate from the vehicle price.
- APR, term, amount financed, down payment, and payment are correct.
- No blank lines, unexplained abbreviations, or conditional promises remain.
If a number is different, pause the signing process and ask for a corrected document. Keep copies of the quote, buyer’s order, finance contract, add-on agreements, and any written availability or pricing conditions.
