- Identity: the vehicle type, year or production range, engine and drive side.
- Physical fit: the part’s handedness, dimensions, mounting points and relationship to adjacent panels.
- Commercial availability: current stock, lead time, shipping method, total delivered cost and return terms.

Step 6: Contact the supplier with a fitment packet
A concise, complete enquiry usually gets a better answer than a general request for “all parts for my van.” Attach a side-view photograph, close-ups of the mounting area, a measurement with a visible ruler, the vehicle identity record and your parts-list line.

Ask for a repair section or alternative
A specialist may have a smaller repair panel when a complete quarter or sill is unavailable. Compare the repair section’s boundaries with the rusted area and confirm whether it is intended to overlap or butt-weld.
