For a useful South Korean shortlist, compare the Renault Arkana with compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, and compare the Renault Grand Koleos with larger family SUVs such as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento. Treat the Renault QM6 separately: Renault Korea’s published QM6 figures are dated June 2024, so confirm that a new vehicle, its model year and its trim are still offered before using it in a current comparison.
The reliable method is to match model year, trim, engine, drivetrain, seating configuration and wheel size before comparing price, dimensions, utility, fuel economy, safety equipment, warranty, service access and stock. The figures below are manufacturer-published Korean-market data, not independent road tests.

Start with the right Renault-to-Hyundai-to-Kia pair
Manufacturers do not define these vehicles as exact equivalents, so the pairings below are an editorial starting point based on size and use. A compact SUV shopper normally begins with the Arkana, Tucson and Sportage. A family looking for more space starts with the Grand Koleos, Santa Fe and Sorento. The QM6 can sit between those groups in a buyer’s search, but its current availability must be established first.

The Arkana is the Renault model to place beside the Tucson and Sportage when the priorities are a compact footprint, hybrid efficiency and a lower entry price. Renault Korea lists an E-Tech hybrid system output of 135 ps, 17.4 km/L combined economy on 17-inch tires and up to 480 L of cargo capacity. The displayed starting price for the Iconic trim is KRW 26,770,000; Renault Korea cautions that the final selling price can vary.

Renault also lists a 1.6 GTe petrol configuration at 123 ps and 13.6 km/L combined on 17-inch tires. Do not treat the hybrid and petrol numbers as interchangeable: they describe different powertrains, and the quoted economy is an official rating rather than a guarantee of what every driver will achieve.
Renault Grand Koleos: larger family-SUV comparison
The Grand Koleos belongs in a larger family-SUV discussion with Santa Fe and Sorento rather than in a direct Arkana comparison. Renault Korea lists a hybrid E-Tech system output of 245 ps and 15.7 km/L combined economy for the techno configuration on 19-inch tires. The same official overview lists a 2.0 turbo petrol engine at 211 ps, with 2WD or 4WD availability. The 2WD version uses a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, while the 4WD version uses an eight-speed automatic.
Renault also advertises that the hybrid can operate in EV mode for up to 75% of city driving. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured result or a promise that every owner will see that proportion in daily use. Renault Korea’s current overview does not provide a current Grand Koleos length, wheelbase, cargo figure or seating figure, so those cells must be filled from the exact Korean trim being quoted rather than inferred from the model name.
Renault QM6: use only after a current-stock check
Renault Korea’s June 2024 brochure lists the QM6 at 4,675 mm long with a 2,705 mm wheelbase. It gives a 2.0 GDe petrol engine rated at 144 ps and a 2.0 LPe LPG engine rated at 140 ps; both shown configurations are 2WD. Those are June 2024 specifications. They should not be presented as current prices, equipment or new-car availability without checking a current price list or asking a Korean dealer for a written model-year and trim confirmation.
What the published specifications actually show

Compare dimensions and family utility before horsepower
Overall length and wheelbase are useful screening measurements, but they do not tell you whether a child seat fits behind a tall driver, whether a third row is usable or how much luggage remains with all seats occupied. Ask for cargo measurements with the second and (where applicable) third row in use, and check the loading-floor height and tailgate opening at the dealership.
The confirmed dimensional reference in this set is the QM6 at 4,675 mm long and a 2,705 mm wheelbase (June 2024 brochure). The Sorento’s current Kia Korea page is labeled a 2027 model page and lists 4,815 mm of length and a 2,815 mm wheelbase. That makes the Sorento 140 mm longer and gives it a 110 mm longer wheelbase than the published QM6 figures, but the difference alone does not establish interior room because seat design and packaging also matter.

For the Arkana, the confirmed utility figure is up to 480 L of cargo capacity. The cited Renault Korea material does not provide equivalent current cargo figures for Tucson or Sportage, so do not place an unverified Hyundai or Kia number beside it. For the Grand Koleos, Santa Fe and Sorento, obtain the exact cargo volume and seating arrangement for each trim you are quoting.
Match powertrains instead of comparing badges
Hybrid versus hybrid
Use the Arkana E-Tech against a Tucson or Sportage hybrid when the question is fuel use and urban operation. The Arkana’s 135 ps and 17.4 km/L rating apply to the E-Tech hybrid on 17-inch tires. If the Hyundai or Kia is a petrol model, label the comparison as hybrid versus petrol and explain that the operating-cost assumptions differ.
For a larger comparison, the Grand Koleos E-Tech techno’s 245 ps and 15.7 km/L rating apply to 19-inch tires. Sorento offers a 1.6 turbo hybrid configuration, but the cited Kia page does not expose a single economy number without selecting the relevant trim. Retrieve that trim-specific value before drawing a numerical efficiency conclusion. Current Santa Fe hybrid figures are not established by the cited material and should not be borrowed from an older page.

- Material Upgrade: The new windshield sunshade for 2026 provides more sun protection and shade. We abandoned the old-fashioned titanium silver coating design and chose 300T Oxford cloth with higher density as the raw material for the sunshade. It can effectively block sunlight and heat, allowing you to enjoy the coolness and tranquility inside the car in the scorching summer.
- Practical Performance: We focus on the practical performance of car sunshades in terms of shading and insulation, striving to bring tangible improvements to your driving experience. In the hot summer, it can reduce the impact of strong sunlight on car seats, dashboard and other components, allowing you to feel a cooler atmosphere when entering the car or driving, reducing discomfort caused by stuffiness.
- Size Options: Our car sun shade windshield are available in three sizes: Medium: 55.12 x 27.6 inches - suitable for most compact cars, Large: 57.08 x 31.5 inches - suitable for most SUVs, XL: 63 x 33 inches - suitable for most SUVs and small truck.
- Ordering Tip: Before placing an order, please carefully measure the size of your windshield to ensure that the product fits snugly. If you are unable to measure and confirm, you can provide us with your vehicle model via email, and we will recommend the appropriate size for your vehicle model as soon as possible.
- Quick Installation: The installation of this car sun shade is very simple. Method 1: You can use the elasticity of the visor and put it directly in front of the car windshield. Method 2: You can also use the two sunshades that come with the original car to press and fix it. It takes you only a few seconds to install and is truly easy to use.
Petrol versus petrol
The Grand Koleos 2.0 turbo is the appropriate Renault entry when a buyer wants petrol power and a choice of 2WD or 4WD. Its listed output is 211 ps. Sorento’s quoted petrol example is a 2.5 turbo, and Kia reports 10.8 km/L combined for a 2WD configuration with five, six or seven seats and 18-inch wheels. Because seating and wheel size are embedded in that Kia figure, quote all of those conditions whenever you use it.
The Arkana 1.6 GTe petrol is rated at 123 ps and 13.6 km/L on 17-inch tires. Do not compare that number with the Arkana hybrid’s 17.4 km/L as if the engines were identical, and do not use either as a prediction of an individual driver’s consumption.
Drivetrain and transmission
Drivetrain can change price, fuel use, traction and service requirements. The Grand Koleos petrol overview explicitly distinguishes 2WD/seven-speed wet dual-clutch and 4WD/eight-speed automatic versions. Confirm whether a competing Tucson, Sportage, Santa Fe or Sorento trim is front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive before comparing economy or equipment. The cited material does not establish a current Arkana AWD offering, so ask the dealer rather than assuming one from the model’s SUV shape.
Use fuel-economy ratings with the conditions attached
Korean official combined ratings are controlled test results. They are useful for comparing similarly configured vehicles, but they are not promises of real-world consumption. Tire diameter, drivetrain, seating configuration, traffic, temperature, speed and payload all affect the result.
- Arkana E-Tech: 17.4 km/L combined, 17-inch tires.
- Arkana 1.6 GTe: 13.6 km/L combined, 17-inch tires.
- Grand Koleos E-Tech techno: 15.7 km/L combined, 19-inch tires.
- Kia Sorento 2.5 turbo petrol: 10.8 km/L combined for the specified 2WD, five-/six-/seven-seat, 18-inch configuration.
When calculating running costs, use the same fuel price, annual distance and ownership period for every vehicle, then add the actual trim’s tire, insurance, tax and service assumptions. A hybrid Renault figure should never be presented as a like-for-like cost result against a petrol Hyundai or Kia.

- Year-Round All-Weather Coverage : High-reflective silver finish helps keep the cabin cooler in strong sun, and the waterproof shell shields your RAV4 from rain, snow, frost, dust, leaves, and bird droppings. Folds into the included storage bag so you can keep it in the trunk when not in use.
Check safety, warranty and service as separate buying questions
A specification sheet is only one part of ownership. Build a separate checklist for active safety functions, airbags, parking cameras, driver-assistance operating limits, warranty duration, battery coverage for hybrids, scheduled service prices, roadside assistance, parts lead times and the location of authorized workshops.
The cited evidence does not resolve equivalent safety equipment, warranty terms, service pricing, insurance quotes, resale values or dealer coverage for these models. Ask each retailer for a dated, trim-specific equipment list and written warranty terms. Verify whether a feature is standard, optional, unavailable or restricted to a higher trim; “available on the model” is not the same as “included in the vehicle you are pricing.”
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Price, incentives and stock: record the date and dealer
The Arkana’s displayed Iconic starting price is KRW 26,770,000, and Renault Korea warns that the final selling price can vary. Treat that as a starting list figure, not an out-the-door quote. A Korean purchase comparison should record the date checked, listed price, monthly manufacturer incentive, dealer discount, registration and tax items, finance conditions and expected delivery date.
Do the same for Tucson, Sportage, Santa Fe and Sorento. A lower advertised price may reflect an outgoing model year, a limited trim, a finance requirement or a temporary promotion. Conversely, a vehicle with a higher list price may have equipment or an incentive that changes the delivered total. Keep list price and incentive in different columns so a promotion does not get mistaken for a permanent price reduction.

- Fix the market and date. State that the comparison is for Korean-market vehicles and write the date on which prices, incentives and stock were checked.
- Choose the size class. Start with Arkana/Tucson/Sportage for compact-SUV use, or Grand Koleos/Santa Fe/Sorento for a larger family SUV. Add QM6 only after confirming a current new-car listing.
- Select exact trims. Record trim name, model year, engine, hybrid or petrol system, drivetrain, transmission, seating capacity and wheel size.
- Capture official specifications. Copy output, combined economy, length, wheelbase, cargo volume and any stated towing or ground-clearance figure from the same trim page or brochure.
- Normalize the economy comparison. Compare hybrid with hybrid and petrol with petrol where possible. Keep tire size, drivetrain and seating conditions beside every number.
- Check the cabin in person. Measure the second row with your normal driving position, test child-seat access, fold every seat you use and load the largest object you routinely carry.
- Audit equipment. Mark each safety and convenience feature as standard, optional, unavailable or not confirmed for the quoted trim.
- Request ownership costs. Obtain written warranty, service interval, service-price, insurance and parts-availability information from local outlets.
- Confirm the transaction. Get a dated quote showing list price, incentives, taxes and fees, delivery timing, vehicle identification details and cancellation terms.
Common comparison mistakes and how to avoid them
Using an old model year as current
The QM6 dimensions and engines cited here come from June 2024. The Sorento page is labeled 2027, while the numerical Hyundai results returned were legacy pages. Put the model year beside every specification and replace a figure when the page is not current for the vehicle being sold.

Assuming “SUV” means equal space
A fastback-style compact SUV, a conventional compact SUV and a three-row family SUV can have very different rear-seat and cargo usability even when their exterior lengths are close. Use measurements and a physical loading test, not body style alone.
Quoting a single economy number without its configuration
The Sorento’s 10.8 km/L applies to a specific 2WD, 18-inch, five-/six-/seven-seat petrol configuration. The Renault figures likewise carry engine and tire conditions. Removing those conditions creates a misleading comparison.
Treating a manufacturer claim as an independent result
The Grand Koleos statement that EV mode can cover up to 75% of city driving is Renault’s claim. No independent road test, owner survey or government statistic establishes typical real-world performance.
Assuming availability from a brochure
A brochure can describe a configuration that is no longer ordered. Confirm current stock, production status, model year and delivery time with a dealer before ranking a vehicle on price or equipment.
Which shortlist fits each buyer?
Urban driver prioritizing efficiency
Begin with the Arkana E-Tech and hybrid versions of Tucson or Sportage. Compare the same wheel size and drivetrain, then check rear-seat access and cargo loading rather than choosing solely on the 17.4 km/L Renault rating.
Family needing more power or space
Start with Grand Koleos, Santa Fe and Sorento. The Grand Koleos offers a listed 245 ps hybrid system or a 211 ps 2.0 turbo with 2WD/4WD choices. Sorento’s published dimensions provide a useful large-SUV reference, but obtain current Santa Fe and exact Sorento trim figures before deciding.
Buyer considering LPG or an older value proposition
The QM6’s June 2024 brochure lists a 140 ps 2.0 LPe LPG version and a 144 ps 2.0 GDe petrol version, both shown as 2WD. That information can help identify a used-vehicle or remaining-stock candidate, but it is not evidence that a new QM6 is currently orderable.
What remains to verify before publishing or buying
- Current Korean prices, incentives and delivery dates for every selected trim.
- Current Hyundai Tucson and Santa Fe numerical specifications; the cited Hyundai results were not current enough to quote.
- Current Kia Sportage trim-specific output, economy, dimensions, seating and cargo figures.
- Grand Koleos and Arkana dimensions, seating and cargo figures where the selected trim page does not state them.
- AWD availability and transmission for each competing trim.
- Safety-equipment standardization, warranty and hybrid-battery coverage.
- Local service capacity, parts lead time, insurance and resale assumptions.
Until those items are confirmed, the strongest defensible conclusion is a method and a shortlist, not a universal winner. Renault’s published figures make the Arkana E-Tech and Grand Koleos E-Tech clear starting points for hybrid comparisons, while Hyundai and Kia must be matched at the same current trim level rather than represented by older specification pages.
