There is not a documented range of CRX trims to choose between. Warivo’s product material presents the CRX as one scooter, while an HT Auto listing identifies one listed variant, CRX STD. The five colors in Warivo’s leaflet are color choices, not evidence of different motors, batteries or equipment. Your real decision is whether this single specification fits your route, charging access, rider and passenger load, and local support.
Warivo lists a 1,500 W hub BLDC motor, 55 km/h solo speed and 90 km per charge as “Actual Range/charge (km) Solo.” Those are manufacturer figures, not an independent commuting test or a guaranteed distance in every condition. Verify the exact vehicle, battery terms, charging time, price, stock and service arrangements with a local dealer before paying a deposit.

What “variant” means for the Warivo CRX
The first step is correcting the assumption in the question. The available listing does not show multiple CRX equipment grades such as Standard, Long Range or Pro. HT Auto reports one variant, CRX STD, with a listed ex-showroom price of ₹79,999. The listing also warns that ex-showroom pricing varies by selected city, so it is not an on-road quotation.
Warivo’s official product page and September 2024 leaflet describe the CRX product without identifying separate mechanical trims. The leaflet names five finishes:

Nothing in that material says a color changes the motor, battery, range, brakes, suspension or equipment. Treat a dealer’s suggestion that a color is a different “variant” as a question to verify, not as an established specification.
The most defensible interpretation is therefore simple: choose the CRX if its published specification suits your commute, then confirm that the scooter offered locally is the same specification as the listed CRX STD. If a dealer presents another suffix or a different battery capacity, request a written specification sheet and warranty for that exact vehicle.

CRX specifications that matter to a commuter
Use the following figures as a starting point for a test ride and a dealer checklist. They are attributed to Warivo unless the source is identified as a third-party listing.
| Item | Published figure | Why it matters on a commute | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Motor | 12-inch hub BLDC, 1,500 W rated | Indicates the motor’s published rating; hill performance and acceleration still depend on load, slope, controller settings and battery state. | Warivo leaflet |
| Top speed | 55 km/h solo | Useful for urban arterial roads, but does not by itself establish suitability for expressways or any particular road category. | Warivo leaflet |
| Claimed range | 90 km per charge, listed as “Actual Range/charge (km) Solo” | Compare with your round trip, then leave room for detours, traffic, payload, hills, weather and battery ageing. It is not an independently measured or guaranteed daily range. | Warivo leaflet |
| Operating voltage | 48 V | Ask for the battery’s amp-hour or kWh capacity as well; voltage alone cannot tell you charging time or usable energy. | Warivo product page |
| Charger | Portable charger listed | Portability can help if you can charge at work or carry the unit between a secure outlet and the scooter. Confirm its weight, cable length and charging procedure. | Warivo leaflet |
| Kerb weight | 102 kg | Affects pushing, parking, lifting onto a stand and low-speed maneuvering. | Warivo leaflet |
| Seat height | 750 mm | Use as an initial fit check; inseam, seat width and floorboard position determine whether you can plant your feet comfortably. | Warivo leaflet |
| Ground clearance | 165 mm with payload | Relevant to speed breakers and broken surfaces, though approach angle and suspension travel also affect clearance in practice. | Warivo leaflet |
| Loading capacity | 150 kg | Count rider, passenger and luggage together. Confirm the manufacturer’s definition of this limit. | Warivo product page |
| Under-seat storage | 42 L boot | Potentially useful for a work bag, rain gear or groceries; check the shape and whether a helmet actually fits rather than relying on volume alone. | Warivo leaflet |
| Dimensions | 2,135 × 775 × 1,110 mm | Measure your parking space, gate and lift. Width is especially important in a narrow apartment or office entrance. | Warivo leaflet |
| Wheelbase | 1,990 mm | A longer wheelbase can influence turning circle and stability; perform a U-turn and a tight parking maneuver during the test ride. | Warivo leaflet |
| Controls and lighting | Digital speedometer, tripmeter, odometer, key ignition, LED headlight, tail light and indicators, reverse switch | Check readability at night, switch access with gloves and whether reverse operation is practical on your parking slope. | Warivo leaflet |
| Suspension | Telescopic front; dual-shock rear | Ride comfort depends on spring and damping setup, tire pressures and load. Test the actual roads you use. | Warivo leaflet |
| Seats and category listing | Two seats; battery-operated two-wheeler, L1 category in a government-hosted listing | Use this as a description of that document, not a complete answer to registration, licensing or local operating requirements. | Government-hosted listing |
Match the claimed range to your actual route
Calculate the complete daily distance
Map the distance from your normal starting point to work, college or another destination and back again. Include school drop-offs, a lunch-time errand, a charging detour and the distance from the public road to your parking space if those are routine. For example, a 12 km trip each way is a 24 km daily route before any extra stops.
Compare that total with Warivo’s 90 km-per-charge claim, but do not treat the difference as guaranteed reserve. Warivo does not publish an independent test protocol in the cited material, and the leaflet does not state the conditions behind the number. Traffic, repeated acceleration, hills, rider and passenger weight, tire pressure, temperature and battery age can all change the result.
Build a reserve instead of planning to arrive at zero
Leave a margin for an unexpected detour and for the point at which the battery-management system limits performance. A route that consumes nearly all of a claimed charge gives you little flexibility if a meeting moves, a road closes or a passenger joins you. If your commute is near the claim, arrange dependable charging at one end rather than assuming the brochure number will cover every day.

Ask for the test conditions
Request the dealer’s written explanation of what “90 km” means for the exact vehicle: rider mass, speed, terrain, temperature, payload, battery state-of-charge window and whether the figure is a laboratory estimate or a road result. If the answer is not available, record the number as a manufacturer claim and make your decision using a conservative buffer.
Check charging before you choose the scooter
Confirm what “portable charger” includes
The leaflet identifies a portable charger, but the supplied specifications do not state charging duration, charger output, cable length, weather protection or whether the charger is supplied with every local vehicle. Ask to see the charger that will be delivered, not a generic photograph.
Inspect your charging locations
- Identify a secure, dry outlet at home. Confirm that the socket and circuit can support the charger without an overloaded extension board.
- Ask your workplace or building manager whether two-wheeler charging is permitted and who controls the electricity point.
- Check how far the scooter must be pushed to reach the outlet. A portable charger is less useful if the vehicle is parked outside and the battery cannot be removed.
- Ask whether the battery is removable, and if so, its weight and approved carrying procedure. The cited leaflet does not establish removability.
Get battery details in writing
The product page lists 48 V operating voltage, but voltage is not the same as battery capacity. Obtain the exact battery chemistry, capacity, usable-energy specification, charging time from the stated starting state, expected charging environment, replacement price and warranty terms. These details are essential to a daily commuter and are not fully specified in the cited CRX material.
Decide whether the speed and route fit each other
Warivo lists 55 km/h solo speed. That can be relevant on city roads where traffic moves faster than a low-speed scooter, but the number does not prove that the CRX is appropriate for every road. Check the legal classification and local rules for your city, including registration, insurance, helmet and licensing requirements. The government-hosted document lists the CRX as a battery-operated two-wheeler in the L1 category with two seats; it does not provide a complete compliance analysis for every locality.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Look at your route rather than the headline number. A commuter who stays on neighborhood streets may value smooth low-speed control, braking feel and easy parking more than maximum speed. Someone who must merge with faster traffic should verify the CRX’s ability to hold a safe pace on the actual incline and with the intended load. Do not infer highway suitability merely from a 55 km/h figure.
Fit the CRX to your body and parking routine
Use the 750 mm seat height as a starting point
At 750 mm, the published seat height gives you a useful comparison point, but it cannot predict fit for every rider. Sit in your normal footwear with both hands on the bars. Check whether you can place at least one foot securely while stopped, whether the handlebar contacts your knees during a turn and whether the seat forces you into an uncomfortable reach.
Test the 102 kg kerb weight in real maneuvers
Ask to move the scooter with the motor off. Push it out of a parking bay, reverse it on a slight slope, place it on its stand and perform a tight U-turn. These tasks expose weight and balance issues that a straight test ride can hide. If another person normally rides with you, repeat the low-speed exercises with that passenger, within the stated loading limit.

Measure your storage space
The CRX is listed at 2,135 mm long and 775 mm wide, with a 1,990 mm wheelbase. Measure the narrowest part of your gate, ramp, lift or parking slot, including mirrors and the turning space required to enter. A nominally adequate slot may still be impractical if you cannot turn the front wheel before the wall.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Plan for passengers, luggage and the 150 kg limit
Warivo lists a 150 kg loading capacity. Count the rider, passenger, backpack, groceries and any accessory load together; do not interpret it as 150 kg of luggage in addition to two people. Ask the dealer how the limit is defined and whether it includes accessories or a top box.
The listed 42 L boot could make the CRX convenient for commuting, but litres do not describe the opening or shape. Place your own work bag or rain gear inside the demonstrator. Check whether the compartment accepts your helmet, whether the seat closes without crushing the contents and whether heat or charging hardware reduces usable space. Never store items that the owner’s manual prohibits.
With a passenger, repeat the route’s steepest start, speed breaker and braking point during the test ride. The leaflet’s 165 mm clearance is specified with payload, but suspension behavior, approach angle and the combined load still determine whether a particular bump is comfortable.
Evaluate ride equipment rather than color names
Suspension and road surfaces
The CRX uses telescopic front suspension and dual-shock rear suspension according to the leaflet. Ride over the broken surfaces, pothole edges and speed breakers that define your commute. Listen for rattles, check whether the suspension bottoms out with your normal load and confirm that the scooter remains stable while braking over uneven pavement.
Lighting and visibility
Warivo lists LED headlight, tail light and turn signals. Test beam reach and indicator visibility at dusk, and check whether the switchgear can be operated without taking your hand away from the grip. Confirm that the brake light illuminates with either brake control if the demonstrator has separate controls.
Information and reverse operation
The listed equipment includes a digital speedometer, tripmeter and odometer, key ignition and a reverse switch. Verify that the display remains legible in direct sunlight, that the trip function can be reset as expected and that reverse is gentle enough for your parking area. Practice using the reverse switch while walking beside the scooter before relying on it on a ramp.

Verify price, availability and ownership support
Understand the ₹79,999 figure
HT Auto’s September 2026 listing reports ₹79,999 ex-showroom for CRX STD. Ex-showroom price excludes location-dependent on-road items, and the listing notes that the figure varies by selected city. Ask the dealer for a dated, itemized quotation showing vehicle price, registration or other statutory charges where applicable, insurance, accessories, delivery fees, taxes and any discount that expires.
Ask for the missing battery and warranty terms
The cited sources do not establish a complete, current CRX battery warranty, charger warranty, vehicle warranty, charging time or battery replacement cost. Obtain each term in writing, including duration, mileage or cycle limits, exclusions, required service intervals, approved charging practices and the process for a warranty claim.
Confirm local service before paying
Ask who will perform scheduled service in your city, where a failed scooter is taken, which parts are held locally and how long common repairs normally take. Request the dealer’s address, phone number and escalation route. A claimed range is of little practical value if a charging or controller fault leaves the scooter unusable for your working week.
Check delivery identity
Before accepting the scooter, compare the vehicle identification details and battery label with the quotation and warranty. Confirm the color, charger, keys, manuals and included tools. Photograph the odometer and visible condition at handover, and keep the invoice and warranty documents together.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A step-by-step CRX buying process
- Write down your route. Record round-trip kilometres, hills, traffic speed, passenger days, parking constraints and every place you could realistically charge.
- Compare that route with the 90 km claim. Add a reserve for detours and conditions; if the route is close to the claim, arrange a reliable mid-day or destination charge.
- Call a local dealer. Ask whether the available scooter is CRX STD, which battery specification is installed, and whether the advertised color is in stock.
- Request documents before a test ride. Obtain the current quotation, battery and vehicle warranty, charging-time information, service location and return or cancellation terms.
- Test the loaded scooter. Ride solo, then with the intended passenger if permitted. Include starts on an incline, braking, a U-turn, a speed breaker, reverse operation and a tight parking maneuver.
- Test charging. Inspect the supplied portable charger, confirm the outlet arrangement and ask how long a normal charge takes from the dealer’s stated starting state.
- Check fit and storage. Sit in your work clothes, try your helmet and bag in the 42 L boot, and measure your parking route against the 2,135 × 775 mm body dimensions.
- Verify legal and delivery requirements. Use the government listing only as a classification reference and confirm current local registration, insurance, helmet and licensing obligations with the dealer or relevant authority.
- Compare the final on-road number. Do not compare the CRX’s ex-showroom listing with another scooter’s on-road quote. Put every mandatory and optional charge in the same table.
- Buy only when the written specification matches. The invoice should identify the model, color, battery, charger and warranty terms you agreed to.
When another scooter may be the better choice
The CRX is a sensible candidate when its single listed configuration covers your route and you value a portable charger, a published 42 L boot, two-seat capacity and the listed 55 km/h solo speed. It may be a poor fit when your commute regularly exceeds a conservative interpretation of the claimed range, when you cannot charge securely, when you need a documented fast-charge time or removable battery, or when local service is uncertain.
If you compare another electric scooter, use identical questions for both products:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Is the range independently tested, and under what speed, load, temperature and terrain?
- What battery chemistry, usable capacity, charging time and warranty are documented?
- What speed is appropriate for the route, and what are the applicable local rules?
- Can the rider comfortably manage the seat height and kerb weight?
- What are the actual storage dimensions and payload limit?
- Where is the nearest authorized service point, and which parts are stocked?
- What is the complete on-road price in the same city?
No head-to-head test result is established in the cited material, so a comparison based only on brochure range or price would be incomplete.

Practical decision examples
Short urban commute with home charging
Suppose your round trip is 24 km, you ride alone, and you have a secure overnight outlet. The CRX’s published range is comfortably above the route on paper, but you should still test the exact road, confirm charging time and retain reserve for errands. Seat fit, parking weight and service access may matter more than color.
Long commute with no destination charging
If your daily route approaches the 90 km claim, do not buy on the assumption that the full figure will be available in traffic with payload. Obtain a demonstrated range methodology, identify a dependable charging point or choose a vehicle with independently documented reserve for your conditions.
Frequent two-up travel
Use the 150 kg loading limit as a total for people and belongings, then ride the steepest section with the passenger. Check acceleration, braking, suspension movement and remaining storage. A two-seat listing does not guarantee that every rider combination will be comfortable.

Apartment parking without a socket
The portable charger helps only if you can bring the scooter or an approved removable battery to a safe outlet. Because the cited material does not establish battery removability, ask directly and get the answer in writing before considering the CRX for this situation.
What is established—and what you still need to verify
Established product information includes one listed CRX STD variant, five colors, a 1,500 W hub BLDC motor, 55 km/h solo speed, Warivo’s 90 km-per-charge claim, 48 V operating voltage, 102 kg kerb weight, 750 mm seat height, 165 mm ground clearance with payload, 150 kg loading capacity, 42 L boot, the published dimensions and the listed equipment. The government-hosted document identifies the CRX as a battery-operated two-wheeler, L1 category, with two seats.
Still requiring dealer confirmation are city-specific on-road price, actual stock, battery chemistry and capacity, charging duration, whether the battery is removable, complete warranty terms, replacement cost, service coverage and the legal requirements that apply to your locality. Treat those as purchase conditions, not minor details.
