How to check an Exide battery warranty online in India
- Open Exide Care’s View Registered Batteries/Inverters page.
- In the lookup form, enter your Mobile No..
- Enter the Battery/ Inverter Serial No..
- Type the image-verification characters in Enter code.
- Select Submit.
- When the OTP screen appears, enter the code sent to your mobile number in Enter OTP.
- Select Proceed. If the code does not arrive, use Re-send and try again.
Exide’s FAQ describes the same process: register the battery, open View Registered Batteries/Inverters, enter the mobile number and battery or Home UPS serial number, and view the warranty details. The wording varies slightly between the page heading and footer—“View Registered Batteries/ Inverters” and “View Registered Batteries/Inverters”—but both refer to the same lookup function.

Keep the serial number exactly as printed on the battery or inverter. Do not substitute your vehicle’s VIN, registration number, engine number, or receipt number. If the serial number is difficult to read, photograph the label before entering it so you can compare each character.
If the battery is not registered
A battery that does not appear in the lookup may never have been registered, or the registration may have been made with a different mobile number. In that situation, open Exide Care’s Register Your Batteries/Inverters page instead.
The current registration form asks for:
- Serial No.
- Product category: Car Battery, Two-Wheeler Battery, E-Rickshaw Battery, Other Vehicular Battery, Inverter Battery, or Inverter
- First Name and Last Name
- Enter Pin Code
- Enter Battery Purchase Date
- Enter Mobile Number
- Vehicle Registration No.

Select Register after completing the form. The page currently validates the serial number as 11 characters and may display “Please enter these 11 characters” when the entry is incomplete or incorrectly formatted. Registration then requires OTP verification: enter the code in Enter OTP, select Proceed, or use Resend OTP if necessary.

Not automatically. Exide’s current India registration page warns that the seven-day registration window has passed, but it offers a Proceed option rather than stating that the warranty is void. Exide’s India battery warranty terms say that when digital registration is not completed within seven days, the warranty applies from the primary sale date or scan date to the authorized dealer.

That is different from the commonly repeated claim that “you must register within seven days or you lose the warranty.” Based on the current Exide page and warranty terms, late registration changes the applicable warranty start date; it does not, by itself, automatically eliminate coverage. The exact warranty period and eligibility still depend on Exide’s applicable warranty terms, the product, purchase details, and other conditions.
What if the online lookup does not work?
Try these checks before contacting Exide:
- Confirm that you are using the mobile number used during registration.
- Check the serial number against the battery or inverter label. Avoid confusing similar-looking characters.
- Enter the image-verification code again if the page rejects it.
- Wait for the OTP and use Re-send or Resend OTP only after the page makes that option available.
- If the battery was purchased recently, verify that its registration was completed rather than assuming that filling out the form saved the record.
- Keep your purchase invoice, serial-number photograph, and vehicle details available in case Exide needs to verify the record manually.

How to check an Exide battery warranty in the United States
The India lookup should not be treated as a universal Exide warranty checker. Exide India’s warranty terms apply to Exide batteries purchased by an end consumer in India, and the India site’s registration workflow is country-specific.

The U.S. material available from Exide does not document a current serial-number warranty-status lookup. A 2020 Exide/Battery Systems FAQ directs U.S. customers to the U.S. Claims Center instructions: go to www.exide.com, scroll to the bottom, choose Claims Center (U.S), select EXIDE-BRANDED BATTERY WARRANTY AND LIABILITY INFORMATION, and choose Submit a Warranty Claim. Because that document is dated 2020, these labels should be verified on the current U.S. website before relying on them.

For the U.S. claim process described in that FAQ, expect to provide:
- A test receipt showing that the battery was tested
- Dated proof of purchase, such as a retailer receipt or, alternatively, a credit-card or bank statement
- Information about the original purchase and purchaser
A discharged battery is not necessarily considered defective. The U.S. warranty material says the battery should be charged and retested first, and batteries that are merely discharged are excluded from warranty coverage. The cited U.S. FAQ also says eligibility may depend on the original purchase date, original purchaser, authorized retailer, proof of purchase, and test results. It states that the warranty is not transferable and notes that some retailers sell batteries “in lieu of warranty,” in which case the retailer handles the claim.
