The same page estimates ₹63,000 + ₹2,520 + ₹3,469 = ₹68,989 for the Lithium ion variant. Those are dated, city-specific estimates, not guaranteed Odysse dealer prices. Use them as examples and obtain a current itemized quote from an authorized dealer.

The on-road price formula
For a particular buyer, the calculation is:
On-road price = exact-variant ex-showroom price + applicable registration/RTO and statutory charges + insurance premium + accepted optional charges.
The first three components are the core of the calculation. Optional lines must remain visible rather than being hidden inside a rounded “on-road” figure. A quote should identify the city or state of registration, the Racer Neo battery variant, the quotation date, the insurer and policy details, and every additional item included in the final total.

- Ex-showroom: the listed price of the scooter before local registration-related costs and insurance.
- Registration/RTO and other charges: amounts imposed or collected for the registration location, plus any clearly identified statutory line items. They can differ by location and by the way a listing groups charges.
- Insurance: the premium for the policy selected for that scooter. A price-site estimate is not a universal premium.
- Optional dealer items: accessories, delivery or logistics fees, extended warranty, handling, or similar entries. Include them only if the buyer accepts them and they appear on the written quote.
Do not add an unexplained “miscellaneous” amount merely because a website shows one. Ask the dealer to identify what it covers and whether it is mandatory for your transaction.
Confirm the exact Racer Neo variant first
The Racer Neo’s battery variant changes both the ex-showroom amount and the insurance figure. Copy the variant name exactly as it appears on the dealer quotation; do not combine the Graphene ex-showroom price with Lithium ion insurance or RTO figures.

These figures are the Sonipat estimates published by ZigWheels, updated in October 2026. They are useful for demonstrating the arithmetic, but they do not establish a national price, a quote for another city, or a guaranteed dealer total.
Step-by-step method for calculating your total
1. Fix the registration city and quote date
Start with where the scooter will be registered, not merely where it is displayed or purchased. State, city, local authority and registration category can affect the RTO-related lines. Write the intended registration location at the top of your worksheet and record the date on which the dealer or price site supplied the figures.
Prices and specifications can change. The manufacturer’s Racer Neo page says that product specifications, features, pricing, images and other information are updated from time to time, are for reference, and may change without prior notice. It advises buyers to verify specifications, availability, pricing and applicable terms with an authorized Odysse EV dealership.
2. Record the exact battery variant
Write “Graphene” or “Lithium ion,” or the precise designation on the quotation. If a dealer offers more than one configuration, ask whether the quoted battery, charger and warranty correspond to the selected variant. A variant change requires a fresh calculation; do not edit only the headline price.
3. Obtain the current ex-showroom amount
Use the amount on the dealer’s dated quotation or a current manufacturer/dealer price sheet. A previously published listing is a reference point, not proof that the amount still applies. Check whether the ex-showroom line already includes any product-level tax or mandatory equipment, and ask the dealer to explain anything described as a package rather than a price for the scooter itself.

4. Add the local registration and RTO lines
Copy each registration-related amount as written. If the quote says “RTO + Others,” request a breakdown of the component amounts and the authority or service each represents. Apply only the charges that relate to your registration location and vehicle classification. Do not transfer a Sonipat amount to Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai or any other city.
5. Add the actual insurance premium
Use the premium on the insurance proposal or dealer quotation, and note the insurer, coverage, policy term and any deductibles or add-ons. If you obtain insurance separately, replace the dealer’s estimate with the premium for the policy you actually select. Keep the policy document and proposal number with the purchase records.
6. List optional items separately
Create a separate section for accessories, delivery or logistics, handling, extended warranty, service packages and other extras. Mark each as accepted, declined or pending. The total should change only when you deliberately accept an item. A dealer may offer a package, but you should still be able to see the scooter price, statutory amounts, insurance and optional products as distinct lines.
7. Add the lines and check the arithmetic
Use a calculator and add the unrounded line items. Check that the displayed total equals the sum of the components. If it does not, ask for a corrected quotation rather than assuming the difference is a tax or discount. Retain the dated, itemized version that you relied on when paying a booking amount.

Graphene estimate
The Sonipat example is:
- Ex-showroom: ₹52,000
- RTO and other charges: ₹2,080
- Insurance: ₹1,482
- Total: ₹52,000 + ₹2,080 + ₹1,482 = ₹55,562
The ₹55,562 figure is therefore an October 2026 Sonipat estimate for Graphene, not a universal Racer Neo on-road price.
Lithium ion estimate
For Lithium ion on the same page:
- Ex-showroom: ₹63,000
- RTO and other charges: ₹2,520
- Insurance: ₹3,469
- Total: ₹63,000 + ₹2,520 + ₹3,469 = ₹68,989
Keeping the registration city and date constant makes the variant difference visible. The Lithium ion estimate is higher in every listed component on that page, but those amounts should not be projected to another location or future quotation.
Why a city-specific estimate cannot be used everywhere
On-road calculators commonly combine a listed ex-showroom price with local registration assumptions and an insurance estimate. A different registration authority can produce a different RTO or “other charges” line, and an insurer or coverage choice can change the premium. Even within one city, a quotation can change when the ex-showroom price, policy premium or fee schedule changes.

When comparing two totals, hold the following constant wherever possible:

- the same Racer Neo variant;
- the same registration city and state;
- the same quotation date or a clearly stated date difference;
- the same insurance coverage and policy term; and
- the same list of optional items.
If one quote includes a charger upgrade or accessories and another does not, their final totals are not comparable until those lines are separated.
Do not assume registration is zero from the headline specifications
The official Racer Neo page lists a 250 W motor, a 25 km/h top speed and up to 115 km range. Those specifications do not, by themselves, prove that every buyer owes zero registration, road tax or RTO-related charges.
Under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ 2023 amendment, a two-wheeled pure electric vehicle is treated as not being a motor vehicle only when all specified conditions are met and the vehicle is verified and authorized by a Rule 126 testing agency. The conditions described in G.S.R. 823(E), dated 6 November 2023, include a thirty-minute motor power below 0.25 kW, a maximum speed below 25 km/h, required brakes and reflectors, and an unladen-weight limit excluding the battery of 60 kg. The amendment also contains language concerning pedal-assisted vehicles and requires the relevant testing and authorization.
“250 W” is 0.25 kW, not a value below 0.25 kW; “25 km/h” is not a value below 25 km/h. More importantly, the public product page does not establish the test method, the remaining physical conditions or the required authorization. Ask the dealer and the registering authority which registration, tax and fee lines apply to the exact model in your location.
The ministry separately indexes G.S.R. 352(E), dated 27 May 2021, as a notification concerning registration-fee exemption for battery-operated vehicles. That index description alone does not demonstrate that every RTO-related amount is zero for every Racer Neo purchase. Treat an exemption as applicable only when the dealer or RTO confirms it for your vehicle and registration address.
How to read every line on a dealer quotation

If a line is unclear, ask the dealer to revise the quotation with a plain-language description. Do not rely on a salesperson’s verbal explanation when the amount affects the final payment.

Comparing two quotes without creating a false saving
Put competing quotations into a side-by-side worksheet. First match the variant and registration address. Then compare the ex-showroom line, each RTO or statutory item, the insurance policy rather than only its premium, optional products, and the arithmetic total.

A lower headline total may simply omit insurance, registration or an accessory package. Compare like-for-like line items before deciding which quotation is cheaper.

Handling insurance correctly
Insurance is not a fixed percentage that can safely be copied from another buyer’s calculation. The premium shown by a listing is an estimate tied to its assumptions; the premium on your proposal depends on the policy selected and the details used by the insurer.
Ask for the policy schedule or proposal showing:
- the insured vehicle and variant;
- policy start and end dates;
- coverage type and limits;
- deductibles and selected add-ons;
- the premium and applicable taxes; and
- the insurer’s name and proposal or policy number.
If you buy a policy outside the dealership, give the dealer proof of the policy and revise the on-road worksheet so the final total does not include a duplicate insurance charge.
Common calculation mistakes and fixes
Using the wrong variant’s numbers
Symptom: the scooter is Graphene, but the worksheet uses Lithium ion insurance or ex-showroom figures. Fix: restart with the exact designation on the quotation and obtain a complete set of component amounts for that variant.
Copying a Sonipat estimate to another city
Symptom: a buyer treats ₹55,562 or ₹68,989 as a national price. Fix: replace the RTO and insurance lines with amounts for the actual registration location and chosen policy; retain the Sonipat figures only as dated examples.

Symptom: the buyer cannot tell which part is a government fee and which part is a dealer service charge. Fix: request a component breakdown and ask whether each line is mandatory, optional or refundable.

Assuming 250 W and 25 km/h guarantee an exemption
Symptom: the worksheet sets registration and road-tax amounts to zero without written confirmation. Fix: ask the dealer or RTO to confirm classification, testing authorization and the charges applicable to the exact vehicle.
Adding optional products silently
Symptom: the final total is higher than the scooter, RTO and insurance sum. Fix: list every accessory, warranty, delivery or handling item separately and mark whether you accepted it.
Relying on a stale price
Symptom: the quote references an old online amount. Fix: request a dated quotation and confirm that the dealer will honor the ex-showroom figure through the booking and registration process.

- “What is the current ex-showroom amount, and until what date is it valid?”
- “Which RTO or registration authority is used, and what does each charge represent?”
- “Is any registration, tax or fee exemption being applied? Please show the basis and confirmation for this vehicle.”
- “Which insurer and coverage are included, and can I choose another policy?”
- “Which accessories, delivery services, handling fees or warranties are optional?”
- “Does the displayed total equal the sum of all listed lines?”
- “Will I receive a final invoice matching this itemized quotation?”
Keep the quote, payment receipt, insurance proposal and final invoice together. If the dealer changes a line, ask for a revised dated version and recalculate the total before making the next payment.

Leave declined or undecided options outside the total. This makes it clear how much is required to complete the purchase and how much reflects a personal choice.
When an online estimate is still useful
A city-specific calculator is useful for budgeting, spotting an arithmetic error and seeing how a variant changes the total. It is not a substitute for a current dealer quotation because the ex-showroom price, local charges, insurance assumptions and optional lines can change. Treat every online figure as an estimate with a city, variant and date attached.
For the Racer Neo, the most defensible way to present a number is therefore: identify the variant and registration city, state the quotation or listing date, show ex-showroom, RTO/other charges and insurance as separate lines, and label the result as an estimate unless it comes from a current written dealer quote. The official product page’s change notice is a reminder to verify the final details before purchase.
