Ferrari said its 599-car allocation was already sold out in a July 8, 2025 announcement. A buyer today must investigate a specific resale car through an authorized Ferrari dealer or a reputable specialist in collector cars, then verify provenance, condition, title, taxes, registration eligibility and every seller condition for the destination country. Ferrari has not published a universal buyer-eligibility checklist, and no current representative resale price or inventory figure is established here.
Can you still buy a Ferrari Daytona SP3?
Yes, but the practical route is the secondary market rather than a new factory order. Ferrari introduced the Daytona SP3 as a limited Icona model and allocated 599 cars. In its July 8, 2025 release, Ferrari described that original allocation as “already sold-out.” Ferrari’s annual report records first shipments in the fourth quarter of 2022, so the cars that can appear for sale now are delivered vehicles, not unclaimed standard production slots.

“Sold out” does not mean that every car is permanently unavailable. It means Ferrari’s original allocation is no longer an open ordering pool. A current owner may decide to sell, and a dealer or specialist may already hold a car. Availability, asking price and seller terms can change quickly and must be checked against the individual vehicle.
The 599+1 car is not a reopened allocation
Ferrari later created one additional Tailor Made Daytona SP3 for charity. The company designates it as 599+1. Ferrari reported that this unique car sold at auction in 2025 for US$26 million, with proceeds supporting educational initiatives through The Ferrari Foundation. It is a one-off charitable project, not a 600-car production run and not evidence that ordinary buyers can request another factory build.

How to begin a secondary-market purchase
Because there is no public factory order form for a new SP3 allocation, start by defining the exact car you are willing to buy and the jurisdictions in which it can legally be registered. The following process is a buyer-side framework inferred from the sold-out status; it is not a Ferrari-published purchase procedure.
- Define the destination and use. Identify the country and state or province where the car will be titled, whether it will be road-registered or kept in a collection, and whether you need left- or right-hand-drive compatibility. Registration, import, emissions, lighting and tax rules are jurisdiction-specific.
- Contact suitable sellers. Ask Ferrari-authorized dealers and established collector-car specialists whether they know of an available Daytona SP3. A dealer’s involvement does not by itself prove ownership history or condition; treat it as a channel for documentation and inspection, not as a substitute for due diligence.
- Request a complete information pack. Obtain the vehicle identification number, delivery and service records, invoices, option and Tailor Made documentation, title or ownership documents, mileage, storage history, accident disclosures and any lien information before making a binding offer.

- Verify the transaction terms. The written contract should identify the exact VIN, agreed price and currency, deposit treatment, completion date, taxes, fees, delivery responsibility, representations, title condition, inspection contingency and remedies if the car is not as described.
- Confirm registration and insurance before closing. Ask the relevant authority, customs broker and insurer whether that specific VIN can be imported, titled, registered and covered in your location. Do not rely on a general statement that another SP3 was registered elsewhere.
- Use secure payment and delivery controls. Verify bank instructions by a trusted, independently sourced telephone number, use an escrow or closing process appropriate to the transaction, and release funds only when the contract’s title, inspection and delivery conditions are satisfied.
How much does a Ferrari Daytona SP3 cost?
There is no single verified “price now” in the available evidence. Three figures are useful only when their context is kept attached to them:

It should not be copied into a modern shopping budget without confirming currency, date, taxes, specification and the difference between a factory price and a resale transaction. Likewise, the US$26-million result reflects a unique car sold for charity; rarity, Tailor Made specification, auction dynamics and the charitable purpose can all make that result unlike an ordinary private sale.

None of these categories has a universal SP3 amount in the cited sources. Ask providers for written quotes tied to the actual VIN, location, mileage and intended use.
Does Ferrari require you to own other Ferraris first?
Ferrari’s public announcements cited here confirm the limited allocation and its sold-out status, but they do not publish a universal buyer checklist, a required prior-ownership history, a buyer profile, or a blanket resale ban. Therefore, claims that every SP3 buyer must already own a particular number of Ferraris are not established by these sources.
A seller may still impose conditions on a particular transaction, and a dealer may have its own compliance, deposit or documentation requirements. Ask for those conditions in writing. Distinguish a private seller’s preference, a dealer’s policy and a Ferrari-published rule; they are not interchangeable.

- Who is the legal seller and who will sign the contract?
- Are there written restrictions on delivery, export, resale, storage or use?
- Does the seller require a deposit, proof of funds, identity verification or corporate documentation?
- Are any conditions tied to a specific country, tax status or registration route?
- Can the seller provide the complete ownership and service file before a non-refundable payment?
What to verify before paying for an SP3
A limited-production badge does not eliminate normal collector-car risks. The car’s identity and history should be established independently of the marketing description.

Identity and provenance
- Match the VIN on the car, title, invoices, transport documents and insurance records.
- Confirm the claimed production number and any factory or Tailor Made documentation supplied with the car.
- Trace every ownership transfer, including corporate owners, consignments and international movements.
- Check for liens, finance balances, theft records, salvage branding, unresolved estate claims or other title defects.
- Ask whether the car has been displayed, stored, driven on track, used for demonstrations or modified after delivery.
Condition and originality
- Have an independent specialist inspect carbon-fiber bodywork, paint thickness, panel alignment, glass, wheels, brakes, suspension and underbody.
- Scan electronic systems for fault codes and compare diagnostic information with the seller’s service history.
- Check engine, transmission, cooling, steering and braking systems for leaks, damage or deferred maintenance.
- Compare the physical specification with the build sheet and photographs, including interior materials, trim and Tailor Made details.
- Record cold-start behavior, warning lights, tire age and tread, battery condition and evidence of long-term storage.
Documentation quality
Original invoices and contemporaneous service records are more useful than a short summary prepared for a listing. Request high-resolution scans before traveling, then compare originals at inspection. Keep copies of the signed bill of sale, title, import records, inspection report, payment confirmations and delivery receipt.
Import, title and registration: what the buyer must establish
The cited Ferrari material does not establish a worldwide registration standard. A car that is legal in one country may require different approvals or may not be eligible for ordinary road registration in another. Confirm the rules with the destination licensing authority and, for an imported car, a qualified customs or automotive compliance professional.
Check these items before committing
- Whether the VIN can be titled and whether the vehicle has the necessary conformity or import documentation.
- Applicable customs duty, value-added tax, sales or use tax, luxury tax and registration charges.
- Required emissions, noise, lighting, safety or inspection testing and any permitted modifications.
- Whether the car can be exported from its current country without seller, lender or authority restrictions.
- Whether the planned storage address and intended mileage affect insurance or tax treatment.
Get written answers that refer to the exact VIN and destination. General statements such as “these cars are usually registrable” do not resolve a border, title or compliance problem.

A transaction workflow that reduces avoidable risk
- Screen the listing. Reject advertisements that omit a VIN, legal seller identity, location, mileage or a clear price basis.
- Validate the seller. Independently confirm the business address, licensing where applicable, bank-account ownership and authority to sell the car.
- Review documents first. Do not travel or send a deposit before receiving enough records to identify the car and its title status.
- Inspect independently. Put the inspection contingency and access rights in the contract, not only in email or a phone call.
- Resolve discrepancies. Pause if mileage, color, production number, ownership dates, service intervals or damage disclosures conflict.
- Agree the closing statement. List price, taxes, fees, deposit credit, delivery costs, included equipment and the exact documents to be delivered.
- Close through controlled payment. Use an escrow or equivalent process and verify any changed payment instructions out of band.
- Take delivery methodically. Photograph the car and odometer, record condition, collect keys and records, and obtain signed proof of delivery.
- Complete local formalities. File customs, title, registration and insurance documents before public-road use.
Ferrari Daytona SP3 specifications that matter to a buyer
Ferrari’s published specifications provide context for the car’s performance and the level of specialist support a buyer may want. They are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.

Treating a historical price as today’s quote
A 2021 launch report and a 2025 charity auction answer different questions. Use the launch figure for historical context and the auction result as an exceptional outcome, then obtain current, VIN-specific offers.
Assuming scarcity proves authenticity
Limited production can increase the incentive to misrepresent a car, a production number or a deposit opportunity. Require title, provenance, inspection access and a contract before payment.
Confusing a dealer relationship with a factory allocation
A dealer or specialist may locate a resale car, but that does not create a new Ferrari allocation. Ask whether you are buying an identified delivered vehicle and request its VIN.

Ignoring jurisdiction until after purchase
Import, tax and registration problems can make an otherwise genuine car expensive or unusable. Resolve destination-country eligibility before signing a non-refundable agreement.
Relying on online ownership folklore
Stories about required prior purchases or informal buyer rankings are not a substitute for written terms. The public Ferrari announcements cited here do not establish a universal prior-ownership requirement.
What ownership preparation should look like
Before delivery, arrange secure storage, an insurer willing to cover the vehicle at an agreed value, a service relationship capable of supporting the model, and a transport plan that protects the car from weather and road debris. Keep a digital and physical record of every inspection, service, tire change, repair and title event. If the car will be displayed rather than driven, confirm how storage, battery maintenance and periodic mechanical checks affect the warranty or insurance terms that apply to that vehicle.

Is the Daytona SP3 a realistic purchase for you?
It is realistic only if you can locate a genuine resale car, verify that it can be titled where you live, and fund the transaction and ownership obligations without relying on an unverified future sale. The original factory allocation is closed; the next decision is not how to join a waiting list, but whether a particular car’s price, history, condition, documentation and legal status justify proceeding.
