The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV’s most distinctive design idea is flexibility: a flat cabin floor and spacious second row, a front eTrunk, and an available Multi-Flex Midgate that can connect the cab to the bed for longer cargo. Chevrolet lists three trims—Custom, LT, and Trail Boss—with different standard and available equipment. Its range, towing and price figures are manufacturer claims that depend on configuration and can change.
How the Silverado EV’s layout adds usable space
Chevrolet describes a spacious second row and flat load floor as part of the truck’s design. The flat floor avoids a raised transmission tunnel between rear passengers, while the second-row space serves people or, when needed, cargo. Up front, Chevrolet lists a 10.7-cubic-foot eTrunk for enclosed storage. A power-up/-down hood is available, as is a panoramic fixed-glass roof. These are Chevrolet’s published specifications and equipment descriptions for the 2026 model.
The standard bed is 5 feet 11 inches long. That is the ordinary bed length; the longer cargo figures below depend on specific combinations of Midgate, rear glass and tailgate positions.
How the Midgate and tailgate change cargo capacity
The available Multi-Flex Midgate opens a passage between the bed and cabin. Chevrolet says cargo up to 10 feet 10 inches long can fit with the Midgate fully open, rear glass removed and tailgate down. Other published configurations allow up to 10 feet 3 inches with the driver-side Midgate open, rear glass in place, tailgate closed and inner-gate load stop engaged, or up to 9 feet in two other configurations with the tailgate closed. These are setup-specific maximum lengths, not the bed’s standard length.

The available Multi-Flex Tailgate has six positions, combining load support, easier access and a work surface:
- Primary gate: the conventional closed or lowered tailgate position.
- Primary-gate load stop: a raised section helps retain cargo.
- Easy access: lowers the inner gate to make reaching into the bed easier.
- Full-width step: Chevrolet rates the step for up to 375 pounds.
- Inner-gate load stop: provides another way to secure longer or differently arranged loads.
- Inner gate with work surface: creates a surface for work at the rear of the truck.
Because both systems are described as available rather than universal, check the specific truck’s equipment before assuming it has the Midgate or Multi-Flex Tailgate.

Chevrolet’s 2026 model page lists Custom, LT and Trail Boss. The prices below are the starting prices displayed by Chevrolet when its page was accessed on October 8, 2026; they are time-sensitive manufacturer-listed prices, not transaction-price averages.

Sidewinder is intended for low-speed maneuvering: Chevrolet’s owner resources describe it as turning all four wheels in the same direction so the truck can move diagonally. Trail Boss’s equipment makes it the visibly off-road-oriented version, while the other trims emphasize different appearance and convenience features.

What Chevrolet claims for range, torque and towing
Chevrolet advertises up to 478 miles of GM-estimated range for selected 2026 Max Range models. It also lists up to 775 lb.-ft. of maximum available torque with Wide Open Watts and up to 12,500 pounds of maximum available towing. These are manufacturer estimates and configuration-dependent maximums, not guaranteed results for every Silverado EV. Actual range can vary, and equipment affects towing capacity. For home charging, Chevrolet compares the Dual Level Charger, GM PowerUp 2 and GM Energy PowerShift Charger. Level 1 uses a suitable standard 120-volt outlet; Level 2 requires suitable 240-volt equipment or hardwiring. Installation and charging rate depend on the charger and the home’s electrical setup. Chevrolet’s displayed miles-per-hour charging comparisons are tied to specified vehicle configurations, so they should not be treated as a universal Silverado EV rate. Home backup requires more than an ordinary outlet or charger. Chevrolet says vehicle-to-home operation can be enabled with the GM Energy PowerShift Charger and Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit when both the Silverado EV and home are properly equipped. Vehicle-to-load, vehicle-to-vehicle and other energy-transfer options also depend on vehicle equipment and compatible accessories.
