As of the dated figures available here, Hagerty’s July 2026 guide puts a 2000 S2000 in #3 Good Condition at $23,033–$32,067, while CLASSIC.COM’s benchmarks are $29,699 for AP1 cars and $35,327 for AP2 base models. These figures measure different things, so use the closest recent completed sales to price a specific car.
Current Honda S2000 value benchmarks
The S2000 was introduced for the 2000 model year and ran through 2009. Market references commonly divide it into AP1 (2000–2003) and AP2 (2004–2009) generations. The figures below are useful starting points, but they are not interchangeable appraisals: one is a condition-based guide estimate, two are provider benchmarks, and the remaining figures are individual auction outcomes.
| Reference | Figure | What it represents |
| Hagerty, 2000 S2000 | $23,033–$32,067 | July 2026 guide range for #3 Good Condition; the guide shows $23,033 low and $32,067 high. |
| Hagerty, 2000–2003 S2000s | $31,500 average | Average sale price across 125 sales in the 12 months preceding the July 2026 guide page. This is a rolling sales sample, not a quote for every AP1. |
| CLASSIC.COM AP1 | $29,699 | AP1 Market Benchmark, accessed October 8, 2026. |
| CLASSIC.COM AP2 base model | $35,327 | AP2 base-model Market Benchmark, accessed October 8, 2026. |
| Hagerty Marketplace, 2001 S2000 | $23,005 | Completed sale on May 21, 2026. |
| Hagerty Marketplace, 2006 S2000 | $38,250 | High bid for a one-owner, 20,000-mile car on February 16, 2026; the result summary does not identify it as a completed sale. |

How to estimate what your S2000 is worth
- Match the year and generation. Start with the same model year if possible, then compare cars from the same generation: AP1 covers 2000–2003 and AP2 covers 2004–2009.
- Compare condition with condition. Hagerty’s $23,033–$32,067 range is specifically for a 2000 in #3 Good Condition. It should not be applied unchanged to a car in a different condition category. Review its condition-based guide and compare the vehicle honestly with the category description.
- Account for mileage and originality through comparable cars. The available examples vary in mileage and condition, but do not establish a universal dollar adjustment for either mileage or modifications. Prefer sales of cars that resemble yours in these respects rather than applying a fixed deduction or premium.
- Use several recent completed sales. A completed transaction is stronger evidence of what a buyer paid than an asking price or an auction bid. Hagerty Marketplace records both sales and bids, so check the outcome type before treating a figure as a sale.
Why published S2000 prices differ
Guide values and market benchmarks are different measures
Hagerty’s figure is tied to a specified car year and condition category. CLASSIC.COM’s figures are AP1 and AP2 market benchmarks. Because the providers describe distinct measures, the $29,699 AP1 benchmark and $31,500 rolling average for 2000–2003 sales should not be read as competing appraisals of the same car.

A bid is not necessarily a sale
The $38,250 result for the 2006 one-owner, 20,000-mile S2000 was a high bid, not a recorded completed sale in the result summary. It shows bidding interest in that particular auction, not a confirmed transaction price or the typical value of a 2006 model.
Exceptional sales do not set the typical price
Hagerty’s 2005 S2000 page reports a three-year auction high of $66,000 and a most recent sale of $34,388 on September 17, 2026. The high is a record within a three-year window; the recent sale is a separate transaction. Neither figure alone establishes what an ordinary example is worth. What the latest guide says about price movement
On Hagerty’s July 2026 page for the 2000 S2000, the guide reports no quarterly change, a 3.1% annual increase and a 10.5% increase over three years. Those changes refer to that guide’s valuation data; they are not a forecast or a promise that an individual car has appreciated by the same amount.
