Kelley Blue Book’s cited XL estimate is $22,600 trade-in or $24,700 resale; its XLT estimate is $24,300 trade-in or $26,900 resale. These are local estimates, not guaranteed offers or a single value for every Hybrid.
What a one-year-old Maverick Hybrid is worth
The closest useful answer is a range, not one fixed price. Kelley Blue Book’s recently displayed estimates for 2025 Maverick XL and XLT configurations put trade-in values at $22,600–$24,300 and resale values at $24,700–$26,900. The pages showed local estimates for different ZIP codes and validity dates in September 2026, so treat them as recent examples rather than quotes for October 4, 2026 or an appraisal of your truck.
| 2025 trim example | KBB trade-in estimate | KBB resale estimate | Local estimate details |
|---|---|---|---|
| XL | $22,600 | $24,700 | ZIP 23917; marked valid through 2026-09-23. Kelley Blue Book |
| XLT | $24,300 | $26,900 | ZIP 20101; marked valid through 2026-09-29. Kelley Blue Book |
Those trim pages identify 2025 Maverick configurations; they should not be read as exact Hybrid-only appraisals for every equipment combination. For a broader cross-check, Edmunds’ 2025 Maverick valuation page showed a used-value range of $22,722–$37,552, with the estimate varying by mileage, condition and options. Its illustrative estimate for a no-options truck driven about 12,000 miles a year and rated Clean was $24,398 trade-in or $26,012 private party. Edmunds valuation estimates
Why the transaction type changes the number
Trading it in to a dealer
A trade-in estimate is the amount a valuation service says an owner might expect when exchanging the vehicle at a dealership. It is not the same as the price a dealer asks a buyer to pay: the dealer’s retail price can reflect reconditioning, overhead and margin. Kelley Blue Book defines its local trade-in figure as the amount expected “this week” at a dealership, but the estimate is still not a guaranteed offer for a specific truck.

- Super Easy to Clean: The waterproof floor mats can be simply cleaned by wiping, hosing off, or using soap and water. Quick and easy to make your car floor look nice and new again.
Selling it privately
A private-party value is an estimate for a direct sale to another individual, not a dealer transaction. It may be higher than a trade-in estimate, but the owner handles advertising, buyer questions, negotiation and the transfer. Edmunds’ $26,012 private-party figure is specifically an illustrative estimate for a no-options 2025 Maverick driven around 12,000 miles per year in Clean condition—not a universal asking price.
Dealer retail and purchase-price estimates
Do not compare a trade-in value with a dealer’s advertised retail price as if they were equivalent. Kelley Blue Book’s Fair Purchase Price is based on actual consumer purchase prices and other data, and it describes what buyers in an area are paying. It is a buyer-facing benchmark, not a promise of what a seller will receive.

Why your Maverick may appraise differently
- Trim and equipment: XL, XLT and higher trims, packages and options can change the estimate. Confirm that the appraisal is for a Hybrid and enter its actual equipment.
- Mileage: A value based on roughly 12,000 miles per year may not fit a truck with substantially more or fewer miles.
- Condition: Be candid about wear, damage and maintenance. A clean-condition estimate is not appropriate for a vehicle with significant issues.
- Location: Local market conditions matter. The KBB XL and XLT examples used different ZIP codes, so their difference is not a controlled trim-to-trim comparison.
- Date: Estimates change. KBB says Fair Purchase Price is updated weekly, while the cited local examples carried September 2026 validity dates.
For its depreciation estimates, KBB reported a one-year decline of $5,140 (17%) for the XL and $5,440 (16%) for the XLT. KBB says this is an estimate based on similar vehicles and auction-data forecasts, not a guarantee of the amount any owner’s truck has lost or will lose.
How to get a useful estimate for your truck
- Identify the exact vehicle: select 2025 Ford Maverick, the correct trim and Hybrid powertrain, then enter factory options or packages where the valuation tool permits.
- Use its current odometer reading and honest condition: do not substitute an average-mileage or Clean-condition example if it does not describe your vehicle.
- Enter your ZIP code: local estimates are geographically specific; note the date or validity period shown with the result.
- Choose the transaction you actually want: compare trade-in with trade-in, or private-party with private-party. Use a dealer retail or purchase-price figure only as a different benchmark.
- Compare more than one estimate using the same inputs: valuation services use different methods, so a spread is a prompt to inspect the assumptions—not proof that one number is a guaranteed sale price.
How much does a one-year-old Maverick lose in value?
In the cited KBB examples, estimated one-year depreciation was 17% ($5,140) for the 2025 XL and 16% ($5,440) for the XLT. Those percentages and dollar amounts are KBB estimates for the listed examples, not measured losses for every Hybrid. Your actual change depends on what you paid, the vehicle’s equipment and condition, mileage, local market and the type of transaction.

KBB also named the Maverick its compact-pickup winner in its 2026 Best Resale Value awards. That award uses five-year residual-value projections for 2026-model-year vehicles, assuming average condition and 75,000 miles at the end of five years; it is not a one-year appraisal or actual resale statistic for a 2025 Hybrid.
