Its estimate for a 2025 Z06 is $10,518 over five years. These are modeled estimates, not guaranteed bills or a measure of what every C8 owner pays; actual costs depend on the car, its use, and where it is serviced.
What do the published C8 maintenance estimates include?
Edmunds’ cost-to-own estimates give a useful planning point, but their scope and assumptions matter. The Stingray figure applies to a 2025 Coupe 2LT and a model assumption of 15,000 miles per year. Dividing the five-year total evenly gives about $1,052 a year, but maintenance does not arrive as an even annual charge: scheduled work and wear items fall due at different times.
Edmunds lists separate estimates for 2025 Z06 coupe and convertible configurations. The cited $10,518 figure is the five-year estimate for Z06 configurations; it is not interchangeable with the Stingray estimate. Neither figure should be treated as a quote for a different model year, trim, mileage pattern, or service location. Edmunds’ 2025 Corvette cost-to-own estimates.
What one C8 actually cost in a long-term test
Modeled totals are different from a particular car’s bills. In a report published November 28, 2022, Edmunds said its 2020 Stingray had accumulated $9,536 in maintenance and repairs by 25,000 miles. That car was used for daily driving, road trips, and track sessions, and its total included damage and wear costs such as a windshield and wheels. It is one vehicle’s experience, not a representative annual average for C8 owners. Edmunds’ 2020 Corvette long-term test.

- Fit type: Universal Fit
- Removes more contaminants than conventional filters
- Reduces resistance to oil flow while improving filter efficiency
- Withstands up to 9X the normal system operating pressure
The same account described a $769 after-tax transmission-filter service at the time, with a parts and labor breakdown reported by Edmunds. That is a historical bill from one dealer and location, not a current price. Edmunds also reported a $747 replacement windshield and $149 chip repair for its test car; these were damage-related costs, not routine scheduled maintenance.
Why your maintenance bill can differ
- Variant: The cited 2025 Z06 estimate is roughly twice the 2025 Stingray Coupe 2LT estimate. Keep the model and trim explicit when comparing numbers.
- Mileage and time: Edmunds’ 2025 estimate assumes 15,000 miles each year. A lower or higher annual distance changes when mileage-based service becomes due.
- Driving conditions: Edmunds said its 2020 test car followed a severe-use schedule because it combined track use with mostly city driving. A track-used car should not be treated as a proxy for an ordinary commute.
- Provider and location: Labor rates and parts charges vary. The reported transmission-filter bill reflects one dealer in one market at the time, not a nationwide rate.
- Wear and damage: Tires, wheels, and glass can add substantial costs in a particular year. Separate these from scheduled maintenance when estimating routine upkeep.
How to check the service schedule for your C8
Use the schedule for your exact model year and driving conditions rather than relying on one interval quoted for every C8. Chevrolet provides a vehicle-specific maintenance schedule resource; consult it alongside the owner’s manual for the car.

- EASY TO REMOVE: Fast and easy Wrench-Off removal
Edmunds’ account of its 2020 test car says Chevrolet recommended a first visit at 7,500 miles, including oil and filter work and a transmission-filter service. Edmunds’ longer-term report says later transmission-filter changes were recommended every 15,000 miles. Those are details reported for that 2020 car; verify the schedule for your own model year and use.
Edmunds also reported that its test car’s first scheduled visit could have been covered, but the transmission-filter work was not completed then and was paid for separately later. Before authorizing service, ask the advisor to identify every item due, explain what is covered for your car, and provide an itemized estimate. Do not assume the same coverage applies to every current C8.

How to compare a quote with a published estimate
Ask for a written quote tied to your car’s model year and variant, then compare like with like. Check the mileage and time horizon, whether driving is normal or severe/track use, whether the total covers scheduled maintenance only or also repairs and damage, and which labor rates and service provider apply. A five-year model estimate, an isolated dealer invoice, and a test car’s cumulative maintenance-and-repair total answer different questions.
