The most important first step is to check the VIN: campaign eligibility depends on the vehicle’s model year, configuration and current program status, and eligible work may be covered at no charge.
What the evidence can—and cannot—say about C8 problems
“Common problems” is a useful search phrase, but it does not prove that a reported fault is widespread. A recall, customer satisfaction program, service bulletin and owner complaint are different kinds of evidence. A model-level mention does not show that a particular car is affected, or that a repair will be free.
The documented items below concern particular C8 model years or configurations. They are not a statistical ranking of failure risks. No representative C8 repair-price table or reliable fleet-wide failure rate is established by the available evidence.

Transmission fasteners on certain 2023–2024 cars
GM’s N232427051 customer notice says certain 2023–2024 Corvettes may have improperly torqued transmission fasteners. It specifies transmission replacement and states that the service was free through May 31, 2026; after that, any applicable warranty applies. That no-charge program period has ended. Ask a Chevrolet dealer to check the VIN, the program record and remaining warranty before authorizing work. The notice does not give a public out-of-coverage replacement price.

Fuel spillage on specified Z06 and ZR1 configurations
Chevrolet describes a fuel-spillage recall for certain 2023–2026 Z06 models with the LT6 and 2025–2026 ZR1 models with the LT7, when equipped with the listed left-side radiator/fan combination. Excess fuel can spill into the filler pocket and potentially leak onto an ignition source. The stated remedy is a dealer-installed insert or shield at no cost to the owner of an eligible vehicle; parts availability can affect when the repair is available. Confirm applicability by VIN rather than relying on model name alone.
Chevrolet advises affected owners to insert the nozzle fully, stop at the pump’s first automatic shutoff, turn off the engine while fueling, avoid damaged or apparently malfunctioning pumps, and not use a portable gas can.

Other model-year campaign leads
A secondary model-year overview mentions a 2020 hood/frunk software matter, a small 2021–2022 half-shaft campaign, seat-belt retractor campaigns, and later turn-signal or fuel-filler campaigns. Treat these as leads, not confirmation that a given car is affected. Check Chevrolet or NHTSA records for the specific VIN and campaign. NHTSA says its VIN search shows unrepaired recalls and that recalls do not expire; it also provides manufacturer communications such as technical service bulletins. A bulletin or owner complaint is not, by itself, a recall or a promise of free repair.
How to find the likely cost for your C8
For many reported C8 repairs, there is no reliable public figure that can be called a typical price. RepairPal’s Corvette figures cover multiple years and are not C8-specific, so they should not be treated as C8 estimates. The available evidence also does not establish C8-specific prices for valve-spring work, software updates, seat-belt repairs, half-shafts or other recurring-condition claims.

Use a written, vehicle-specific estimate instead. Before comparing prices, make sure each shop is quoting the same confirmed diagnosis and scope:
- Identify the car: provide the VIN, model year, trim, engine configuration, symptoms and service history.
- Check coverage first: ask a Chevrolet dealer to verify open recalls, customer-program records and applicable warranty coverage by VIN before approving customer-paid work.
- Get the diagnosis and scope in writing: ask what failed, what repair is proposed, and whether replacement is necessary or another repair is appropriate.
- Request an itemized quote: have parts and labor listed separately, along with parts availability and expected downtime.
- Compare like with like: compare estimates only when diagnosis, parts, labor and repair scope match. If coverage status or parts availability differs, the quotes may not be directly comparable.
Collision damage: where the repair is performed matters
GM’s February 2023 bulletin says C8 structural repairs require a capable collision center with the appropriate training, tools and equipment. Only facilities in the GM Collision Repair Network with active C8 specialty status can obtain the restricted structural part numbers from a GM dealer. The bulletin describes advanced materials, unique joining methods and a fixture-bench requirement; non-structural collision parts follow the normal ordering process.

For structural damage, ask the shop whether it has the required C8 status and equipment, and whether it can obtain the needed parts before comparing estimates. These repair-access requirements may affect the available repair location, estimate and timing, but the bulletin does not state what a repair should cost.
