At the latest U.S. residential-average electricity rate available in the cited data—18.31 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for July 2026—a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid uses about $7.51 in electricity for every 100 electric miles. Applying the same official efficiency rating to its listed 34-mile electric range gives an illustrative 13.94 kWh and approximately $2.55 for the energy associated with that distance.

Those figures are standardized estimates, not a guaranteed wall-meter reading or a promise that every full recharge will cost exactly $2.55. Your bill depends on your utility, tariff, taxes and fees, charging time and the vehicle model year. The reliable method is to multiply the Pacifica’s electricity-use rating by your own marginal price per kWh.

The quick calculation

ENERGY STAR and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency list the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid at 41 kWh per 100 miles and a 34-mile city/highway electric range. The cost formulas are:

  • Cost per mile: 0.41 kWh × your electricity price per kWh.
  • Cost per 100 electric miles: 41 kWh × your electricity price per kWh.
  • 34-mile range equivalent: 34 × 0.41 = 13.94 kWh, then multiply 13.94 by your electricity price.

Distance or measure Energy calculation Electricity cost at $0.1831/kWh
One electric mile 0.41 kWh About $0.075
100 electric miles 41 kWh About $7.51
34 rated electric miles 13.94 kWh About $2.55

The 34-mile figure is a range-based energy estimate. It should not be described as the measured electricity pulled from your wall during every full charge. Charging losses, battery-management overhead, temperature, driving speed, terrain, climate control and battery condition can make the electricity delivered by the outlet differ from the energy stored in the battery.

EIA describes its average revenue per kWh as a proxy for retail electricity prices. It is useful for a national benchmark, but it is not the rate on every household’s bill. EPA also notes that electricity prices vary by location. For a personal result, use the marginal rate that applies when your Pacifica is charging, including a time-of-use price if your utility offers one.

How to calculate your own home-charging cost

Step 1: Find the rate that actually applies

Look at your electric bill or utility account for the per-kWh energy charge. If your plan has time-of-use pricing, identify the price during the hours when the vehicle normally charges. Include a different off-peak rate if your utility applies one. A headline “average” rate may combine charges or time periods that do not match your overnight session.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Step 2: Apply the Pacifica efficiency figure

For a 2024 Pacifica Hybrid estimate, multiply your rate by 0.41 for a per-mile estimate or by 41 for 100 electric miles. For example, at a personal rate of $0.25/kWh, the standardized estimate is $10.25 per 100 electric miles (41 × $0.25) and $3.49 for the 13.94 kWh associated with 34 rated miles (13.94 × $0.25).

Step 3: Estimate a charging session or month

To estimate a period of driving, multiply the electric miles you expect to cover by 0.41 kWh per mile and then by your rate. If you drive 600 electric miles in a month at $0.1831/kWh, the rating implies 246 kWh and about $45.04 in electricity. Real consumption can differ, so use your utility’s actual bill and, if available, a plug-in energy meter for a closer measurement.

Which Pacifica figures apply to your model year?

Do not mix the vehicle numbers from different model years as though they were one specification. The cited sources report the following:

Model-year source Electric-use or range figure Battery or charging information
2024 ENERGY STAR/U.S. EPA entry 41 kWh/100 miles; 34 miles city/highway electric range; 82 combined MPGe About two hours at 240 volts
2025 U.S. Department of Energy Alternative Fuels Data Center listing 32 miles combined electric range 16.9 kWh battery; 6.6 kW Level 2 charging
2026 Chrysler vehicle material Charging-time estimates for the 2026 vehicle About 14 hours on the standard 120-volt Level 1 cable; about two hours with the named Level 2 home station

The 2025 listing’s 32-mile combined range and the 2024 ENERGY STAR entry’s 34-mile city/highway range are not interchangeable. Check the model-year label, trim documentation and the window sticker for your vehicle before using a range figure. Likewise, a battery’s nominal capacity is not automatically the same as the electricity drawn from the wall during a complete recharge.

Level 1 versus Level 2 at home

Changing charging level primarily changes how long the vehicle is connected, not the utility’s price per kWh. If the same electricity tariff applies, the Pacifica’s energy cost for a given amount of electric driving remains governed by the vehicle’s consumption and your rate.

Characteristic Level 1 Level 2
Supply 120-volt household outlet 240-volt circuit and compatible equipment
Typical EPA home-charging speed About 3–5 miles of range per hour About 25–40 miles of range per hour
Pacifica time cited by manufacturer or vehicle data Approximately 14 hours for the 2026 vehicle Approximately two hours in the cited 2024 and 2026 information
Equipment and installation May use the standard cable and an existing suitable outlet Requires a 240-volt charging setup; electrical work or professional installation may be needed
Electricity price Determined by your utility tariff, not by the charging level itself

When Level 1 is sufficient

Level 1 can work well for a plug-in-hybrid owner whose Pacifica is parked overnight and whose daily driving fits within the replenished range. EPA describes Level 1 as a slower option that is often suitable for plug-in hybrids. It avoids the cost and electrical planning associated with a new 240-volt circuit, provided the outlet and household wiring are appropriate for the charging equipment.

When Level 2 is worthwhile

Level 2 is useful when the vehicle must recover its charge between short parking periods, when daily driving regularly exceeds what an overnight Level 1 session can replace, or when you want a roughly two-hour recharge in the cited vehicle information. The 2025 AFDC listing identifies 6.6 kW Level 2 charging, while Chrysler’s 2026 material identifies a Level 2 home-station option.

What can make the real bill differ from the estimate?

Charging losses

The 41 kWh/100-mile value is a vehicle efficiency rating, not a promise that exactly 41 kWh will be recorded at the outlet for every 100 miles. Energy is lost in the onboard charger, cables, battery thermal management and other conversion steps. The 13.94 kWh calculation is therefore best treated as the energy associated with the rated driving distance, not a measured wall-to-battery charge.

Weather and driving conditions

Cold temperatures, high speeds, hills, heavy loads, aggressive acceleration and cabin heating or cooling can reduce electric range and increase electricity used per mile. Gentle speeds and moderate climate-control use can produce a different result. The official rating is a consistent comparison point, while your car’s display and utility bill reflect your conditions.

Utility rate design

A flat rate makes the calculation straightforward. A time-of-use plan can lower the cost if the Pacifica charges during an off-peak window, or raise it if charging starts during a higher-priced period. Program rules vary, so verify the start and end times and whether all energy charges—not just a supply component—change overnight.

Model-year and specification differences

Range, battery information and charging times can change between model years. The 2024, 2025 and 2026 figures above come from different official records and should be quoted with their year attached. If your owner’s manual or window sticker gives a vehicle-specific efficiency value, use that value for a more precise estimate.

How much does a full charge add to the monthly bill?

There is no single monthly amount because it depends on how many electric miles you drive and your local tariff. As a planning method, multiply expected electric miles by 0.41 kWh per mile and then by the applicable rate.

  • 250 electric miles at $0.1831/kWh: 102.5 kWh, or about $18.77.
  • 500 electric miles at $0.1831/kWh: 205 kWh, or about $37.54.
  • 1,000 electric miles at $0.1831/kWh: 410 kWh, or about $75.07.

These examples use the 2024 rating and the July 2026 national-average benchmark. They are not promises about a particular Pacifica’s wall consumption. Replace both the miles and the rate with your own data.

How home charging appears on your bill

Home charging is not normally a separate fuel transaction. EPA explains that the cost is included in the monthly electric bill in the same way as electricity used by household appliances. A dedicated charger may have its own usage display or app, but the utility generally bills the energy delivered through the home’s meter according to the tariff.

If you need a measured figure, record the charger’s kWh display for several sessions and compare it with the vehicle’s electric miles. This can reveal the effect of charging losses and your driving conditions without assuming that the battery’s stated capacity equals wall energy.

Should you install a Level 2 charger just to reduce cost?

Usually, no. Level 2 is a time and convenience upgrade; it does not inherently make each kWh cheaper. A Level 2 installation can be financially sensible when it enables more electric driving, lets you use a cheaper off-peak window, or solves a scheduling problem. It may be unnecessary when the supplied Level 1 cable restores the miles you use during the overnight parking period.

Before committing to equipment or electrical work, check:

  • Whether the standard Level 1 cable and a suitable outlet already meet your routine.
  • The Pacifica model year’s maximum AC charging rate and connector requirements.
  • Your electrical panel’s spare capacity and the distance to the parking space.
  • Local permit, inspection and installation requirements.
  • Whether your utility or state offers a current Level 2 incentive.
  • Whether the vehicle can be scheduled to charge during your lowest-price hours.

For a Level 2 purchase, verify that the equipment uses the connector required by the Pacifica, supports the vehicle’s charging limit and is installed according to applicable electrical rules. A faster-rated charger cannot make the vehicle accept more power than its onboard charging system allows.

Electricity cost versus gasoline cost

The electricity estimate answers the home-charging part of the question, but it is not a complete fuel-cost comparison with gasoline. The Pacifica operates as a plug-in hybrid, so gasoline use depends on how far you drive after the electric range is used, how often you recharge and the gasoline price in your area. To compare the two energy sources, calculate your electric cost from kWh and your gasoline cost from gallons consumed and your local pump price over the same driving pattern.

Do not compare the $2.55 range-equivalent estimate with a full tank of gasoline. They represent different quantities and, in the electric case, the 34-mile figure is a standardized range-based calculation rather than a measured recharge bill.

A practical decision guide

  1. Identify the exact model year. Use the applicable range, efficiency and charging information for that year.
  2. Read your utility rate. Use the marginal per-kWh price during the intended charging period.
  3. Estimate electric miles. Multiply those miles by 0.41 kWh per mile for a 2024-rated calculation, or use a vehicle-specific figure when documented.
  4. Multiply by the rate. The result is the estimated electricity cost before any separate equipment or installation expense.
  5. Check the overnight window. If Level 1 can replace the miles you drive before the next departure, a Level 2 installation may not be necessary.
  6. Price the complete setup only if needed. Include the 240-volt equipment, possible electrical work, permits and any available incentive—not just the charger hardware.

Bottom line for Pacifica owners

Using the 2024 Pacifica Hybrid’s official 41 kWh/100-mile rating and the July 2026 U.S. residential-average benchmark of 18.31 cents/kWh, home charging works out to about $7.51 per 100 electric miles. The 34-mile rated-electric-range calculation is about $2.55, but your wall-meter result can differ.

Level 1 uses a 120-volt outlet and may be all a plug-in-hybrid driver needs; Chrysler cites about 14 hours for the 2026 vehicle. Level 2 can reduce the wait to roughly two hours in the cited vehicle information, but may require equipment, electrical work and installation spending. Choose the charging level for the time and electrical capacity you need, then calculate the running cost from your own utility rate and the correct Pacifica model year.
