American Pickers reportedly sold the 1910 Royal Pioneer motorcycle for $100,000. Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz had bought it for $55,000, according to a 2024 SlashGear account. That $45,000 difference is not confirmed profit: the cost of restoring the motorcycle is unknown.

What were the reported purchase and sale prices?

SlashGear’s October 12, 2024 article says Wolfe and Fritz first offered $35,000. The owner countered at $60,000, and they agreed on a purchase price of $55,000. SlashGear reports that the motorcycle later sold for $100,000.

Transaction detail Reported amount
Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz’s opening offer $35,000
Owner’s counteroffer $60,000
Agreed purchase price $55,000
Reported resale price $100,000

All four figures are reported by SlashGear. The article does not establish a net profit: restoration costs are not known, and the $100,000 amount is a reported resale price rather than a documented profit figure.

Which American Pickers episode featured the motorcycle?

Apple TV catalogs the episode as “The Royal Risk,” Season 6, Episode 1, with a release date of May 27, 2013. Its synopsis places the pick in South Florida, where the team accessed a large collection and Mike took an interest in a century-old Royal Pioneer. The listing says he “balks at the mammoth price tag.” The date is the catalog’s episode release date, not a confirmed date for either transaction.

How rare was the 1910 Royal Pioneer?

SlashGear says Royal Pioneer motorcycle production lasted only in 1910, ending after a factory fire led to bankruptcy. It estimates that fewer than 500 were built and that four are known to exist. These are figures reported by that article, not an independently verified count of production or surviving motorcycles.

A Bonhams catalog excerpt identifies a 1910 Royal Pioneer 30.50ci single, but it does not verify the motorcycle’s American Pickers resale or provide evidence for the reported $100,000 sale. Nor do the available sources establish a current market valuation for a Royal Pioneer.
