A Tesla Model Y can add just a few miles of range per hour from a standard household outlet, up to 30 miles per hour on a suitable 240-volt home setup, or—under Tesla’s regional UAE claim—up to 241 kilometres in 15 minutes at a Supercharger. There is no single charging time or cost: both depend on the vehicle, starting charge, power and conditions, while the price depends on your electricity tariff or the specific Supercharger site.
How long does it take to charge a Model Y at home?
Tesla publishes home-charging speeds as estimated vehicle range added per hour, not as a guaranteed battery percentage. The figures below are from Tesla’s North American Home Charging guidance; actual results depend on the vehicle, electrical supply and charging conditions.
| Home setup | Tesla’s stated charging speed | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Standard 120 V household outlet with Mobile Connector | 2–3 miles of range per hour | Slow charging; the exact rate depends on the vehicle. |
| Approved 240 V outlet with a compatible Mobile Connector adapter | Up to 30 miles of range per hour | The available power and vehicle determine the result. |
| Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive with Mobile Connector or Wall Connector | Up to 30 miles of range per hour, at a maximum of 32 A | Tesla lists the same maximum rate for either connector on this configuration. |
These range-per-hour figures should not be treated as a precise answer to “how many hours from empty to full?” The time for a particular session depends on how much energy you need to add, the specific vehicle and its charging conditions. Use the car’s displayed charging estimate for the session rather than extrapolating a promised full-charge time from a range-rate benchmark. Tesla’s home charging guidance recommends plugging in each evening and, where available, scheduling charging for low overnight utility rates.
How fast does a Model Y charge at a Supercharger?
Tesla’s UAE support page says a Model Y can add up to 241 kilometres of range in 15 minutes at a Supercharger. That is a regional, conditional “up to” range claim—not a guaranteed charge time, battery percentage, or rate for every Model Y and Supercharger. Charging speed varies with vehicle configuration, starting battery level, battery temperature and other conditions. Charging also slows as the battery fills. See Tesla’s UAE Supercharging guidance for the regional claim and Tesla’s Supercharging guidance for factors that affect charging.

How much does it cost to charge a Model Y at home?
For a quick estimate, multiply the energy added in kilowatt-hours (kWh) by the electricity price per kWh that applies when you charge:
Estimated charging cost = kWh added × electricity price per kWh

Use your actual utility rate and the energy added for the session. This simple calculation may not match the full change to your bill: time-of-use pricing, taxes, fees and charging losses can affect the total. If your electricity rate changes by time of day, use the rate for the charging period rather than an unrelated average.
Tesla’s Charge Stats feature lets owners select a utility rate or enter custom time-of-use periods, and can show energy use and estimated spending by charging location. Tesla says home charging is often the cheapest option, and off-peak EV rates may increase savings when available; that is a general tendency, not a guarantee for every tariff. Details are in Tesla’s Charge Stats guidance.

How much does a Model Y Supercharger session cost?
There is no universal Supercharger price. The rate is specific to the site and may also change by time. Check the selected Supercharger’s pin on the vehicle touchscreen for its posted price before charging. Depending on location, billing may be per kWh or per minute, and congestion or other applicable fees can affect the final bill. Tesla describes site-specific pricing in its Supercharging guidance.
For Model Y vehicles covered by Tesla’s 2025-and-later owner’s manual, the in-car estimated session price may differ from the final amount shown in the Tesla account. Treat the vehicle-screen amount as an estimate and check the account for the final charge. The cited manual is a Taiwan English edition, so local billing details may differ; consult the manual for your market at Tesla’s Model Y owner’s manual.

What changes charging time and cost?
- Vehicle and equipment: Model Y configuration, connector, outlet and available electrical power affect charging speed.
- Battery state and temperature: Starting charge and battery temperature influence how quickly the car can accept energy; charging slows as the battery fills.
- Where and when you charge: Home electricity rates depend on your tariff and time period. Supercharger pricing can vary by site and time.
- Fees and billing: Taxes, other utility charges, charging losses and location-specific Supercharger fees can make the final amount differ from a simple estimate.
For a useful personal estimate, note the energy added and applicable rate for a home session, or check the selected Supercharger’s live price and your Tesla account after a public session. Without your location, vehicle configuration, charging interval and actual rates, a single dollar figure or exact session duration would be misleading.
