Infiniti’s U.S. strategy is to concentrate on SUVs and crossovers, add more hybrid choices, refresh its lineup, and improve the retail and ownership experience. Nissan has explicitly said it wants to reinvigorate Infiniti’s market presence, but those plans are not yet proof of a stronger market position: the company has not published a complete Infiniti-specific U.S. sales or market-share record demonstrating that result.
What Nissan says it will do
The clearest statement comes from Nissan’s FY2024 investor presentation: “In the US, our focus will be on crossovers and SUVs, with plans to offer more hybrids and reinvigorate INFINITI’s market presence.” The strategy is therefore a combination of product mix and renewed attention to the luxury brand, rather than a single announced model or campaign. Nissan’s investor materials also describe prioritizing products and markets so that models and price points better match demand.
In March 2025, Nissan and Infiniti said the U.S. and Canada would receive more than 10 new and refreshed products across key segments from FY25 through FY27. The regional plan includes Infiniti models and a mix of hybrids, plug-in hybrids, next-generation EVs, and advanced internal-combustion engines. Nissan described the effort as a tailored approach to customer needs, alongside stronger retailer partnerships and simpler programs and operations. The figure covers the two countries and the full product slate, not more than 10 Infiniti models. Nissan’s North American announcement does not assign every product to a specific launch date or powertrain.
Why the plan centers on SUVs and more hybrids
Infiniti’s announced product direction places crossovers and SUVs at its center, while retaining room for a sedan. That is a more focused approach than a broad return to a sedan-heavy range. The powertrain plan is similarly mixed: hybrids are a stated priority, but Nissan’s regional strategy also includes plug-in hybrids, EVs, and combustion engines. The announced direction is not a rapid all-electric pivot.

Those choices let the company address several parts of the market through products and powertrains, but the public announcements do not establish which models will arrive with which systems, or when. Nissan chief performance officer Guillaume Cartier described the regional plan as “our redefined market approach and tailored product strategy designed to better meet customer needs and drive top-line growth.” That is the company’s stated aim, not a measured outcome.
Which Infiniti models are on sale, and what is planned
Infiniti USA’s current site presents the QX80, QX60, QX55, and QX50, and highlights the 2026 QX60 as a three-row crossover. The company’s future-vision page names the QX65 and outlines additional planned products. The distinction matters: a model shown as part of a vision is not necessarily on sale or supported by final specifications.

The future-vehicle page presents the QX65 before the additional planned models, but does not provide a complete launch calendar. Avoid treating the named vehicles as a dated sequence of confirmed showroom arrivals. Retail and ownership are part of the repositioning
New products are only one part of Nissan’s disclosed approach. Its March 2025 regional announcement also calls for stronger retail partnerships, simpler programs and operations, and a market approach tailored to local customer needs. Infiniti’s current U.S. site emphasizes the retailer and ownership experience, including Premium Care maintenance coverage for up to 36 months or the vehicle’s designated mileage period, whichever comes first. These measures are intended to support the brand’s products at the point of sale and during ownership. The public materials describe the intended approach; they do not quantify how much any retail or service change has improved customer satisfaction, retention, or sales.

The same presentation reports Nissan U.S. retail sales growth of more than 9% year over year for the quarter. That figure is for Nissan overall, not Infiniti, so it cannot establish growth for the luxury marque. The reviewed company materials do not supply a full Infiniti U.S. sales series, a market-share comparison, or independent evidence that the broader strategy has already strengthened its position.
