What changes in the conversion?
This is not simply a Raptor R with an extra set of wheels. Hennessey’s conversion lengthens the chassis and installs a second driven rear axle, turning the pickup into a six-wheel-drive truck. The added axle is described as functional and locking. The conversion also extends the bed and revises the ride height, dampers, wheels, and tires.
Three axles and six-wheel drive
The added rear axle is the defining mechanical change. Hennessey says the additional driven wheels improve tractive grip by more than 50 percent. That percentage is the company’s claim; its announcements do not provide an independent test protocol or measured comparison.
Longer bed and larger footprint
The bed grows from the stock Raptor R’s 5.5 feet to 8 feet. Hennessey says cargo capacity increases by more than 45 percent, but does not provide an independently verified payload or towing figure in the announcements. The company lists the converted truck at nearly 27 feet long, roughly 7 feet tall and 7 feet wide, and approximately 6,500 pounds curb weight.

What stays the same under the hood?
Hennessey says it leaves the Raptor R’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8 untouched. The company lists output at 700 bhp at 6,650 rpm and 640 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent dynamometer results. The announcements do not establish fuel economy or independent performance-test results for the converted truck.

Why did Hennessey announce a $499,999 starting price?
On April 25, 2023, Hennessey announced a starting price of $499,999 that included the base Ford F-150 Raptor R. The figure describes the announced starting price for the converted vehicle at that time; it should not be treated as a current offer. Hennessey announced full production on November 14, 2023. Its production announcement said customers could supply a new Raptor R for conversion or buy a turnkey vehicle, including through Hennessey or authorized Ford retailers.
