What was the Honda 0 SUV?
The Honda 0 SUV was a prototype for a planned electric SUV and one of the first two vehicles in Honda’s 0 Series, alongside the 0 Saloon. Honda described it as a mid-size SUV and presented the series under its “Thin, Light, and Wise” approach. The CES vehicle was a concept-stage prototype, not a production model or a vehicle buyers could order.
Honda also announced ASIMO OS, an original vehicle operating system intended for 0 Series models. The announcement described Honda’s plans; it did not establish that features or performance had been validated in a production 0 SUV.
What Honda announced at CES 2025
At CES in Las Vegas, Honda gave the 0 SUV and 0 Saloon their global premiere. Honda’s release, dated January 7, 2025 in the United States, called the 0 SUV the first model in the 0 Series. Its design interview said Honda planned to introduce the SUV in North America in the first half of 2026.

Honda’s broader January 2025 schedule said production models based on the prototypes would launch in North America in 2026, with global markets to follow. These were announced intentions, not evidence that production had begun or that the SUV was available for sale.
Was the Honda 0 SUV going into production?
Honda initially planned to bring a production version to North America in 2026. On March 12, 2026, however, the company announced that it had decided to cancel development and market launch of the 0 SUV and 0 Saloon, as well as the Acura RSX, all of which had been planned for North American production.

Honda attributed the decision to a reassessment of its automobile electrification strategy. It said that beginning production and sales in the then-current environment, where EV demand had declined significantly, would likely lead to further long-term losses. That is Honda’s stated rationale.

The cited Honda announcements establish the vehicle’s intended category and development plans, but do not provide a confirmed production specification. They do not establish a range, power output, charging rate, price, or production volume for a saleable 0 SUV. Those figures should not be inferred from the prototype reveal.
