The displayed starting prices are ₹7,65,400 for the New Amaze and ₹6,97,700 for the Amaze 2nd Gen. The New City (₹11,99,900) and New Elevate (₹11,80,000) start above this budget. These are manufacturer-listed starting prices, not on-road totals, and the exact variant and price available in your city must be confirmed with Honda or an authorised dealer.
Which Honda cars are under ₹9 lakh?
At the current listed-price level, the answer is the Amaze. Honda Cars India’s homepage, accessed on 13 October 2026, shows two Amaze entries starting below ₹9 lakh, while the other two nameplates displayed on the same lineup exceed the limit.

The homepage figures establish which nameplates enter the budget, but they do not provide a complete, current, city-by-city variant list. The ₹7,65,400 and ₹6,97,700 figures are starting prices only. They do not tell you whether a particular manual or automatic variant is available at that price, whether it is stocked in your city, or what the final on-road bill will be.

What Honda’s dated variant table says
Honda’s official price release dated 22 September 2025 lists revised Delhi ex-showroom prices effective on that date. It covers both generations of the Amaze and separates manual-transmission (MT) and continuously variable transmission (CVT) versions. It is useful for seeing the range of versions that was listed under ₹9 lakh, but it is not a validated October 2026 price list.

On that dated Delhi list, five versions fall below the threshold: the 2nd Gen S MT and S CVT, plus the 3rd Gen V MT, V CVT and VX MT. The 3rd Gen VX CVT, ZX MT and ZX CVT exceed ₹9 lakh even before registration, insurance and other on-road charges.
The current homepage’s New Amaze starting price of ₹7,65,400 is higher than the 2025 release’s 3rd Gen V MT figure of ₹7,40,800. That difference is why the older table must not be presented as today’s complete price list. Prices, variant availability and applicable charges can change.
Ex-showroom versus on-road: the budget definition changes the answer
Every figure above is an ex-showroom price. An ex-showroom figure is the manufacturer’s listed vehicle price for the stated market; it is not the amount you pay to register and take the car home. An on-road quote adds costs such as registration and insurance, along with any applicable local charges and dealer-selected items.
Therefore, “under ₹9 lakh” can mean two different buying questions:

- Ex-showroom limit: a version with an official ex-showroom price below ₹9 lakh is eligible for your shortlist. The dated Honda table identifies five such Amaze entries.
- On-road limit: the entire invoice must remain below ₹9 lakh. You need a current, city-specific written quote; an ex-showroom price alone cannot prove that the final amount will fit.
Honda’s city-price notices state that prices are ex-showroom, can change, may not apply identically in every city and should be checked with a dealer. Search results also surfaced conflicting or stale values on official city pages. Treat any number copied from an old page, forum or cached listing as a lead to verify, not as a promise of today’s price.
How to choose among the Amaze versions that crossed the dated threshold
The available evidence supports a comparison by generation, trim, transmission, date and location. It does not establish current equipment differences, fuel economy, safety ratings, reliability, maintenance costs, resale performance or customer satisfaction. Do not infer that a higher-priced trim is automatically better value, or that one generation is superior, from price alone.
2nd Gen S MT — the lowest dated entry
The 2nd Gen S MT was listed at ₹6,97,700 ex-showroom Delhi, effective 22 September 2025. It is also the same amount shown as the current homepage starting price for “Amaze – 2nd Gen.” If your priority is the lowest published entry price, this is the first version to ask a dealer about. Confirm that the 2nd Gen car is still being offered, that the quote applies to your city and that the vehicle is not an old-stock unit with a different registration or delivery condition.

The 2nd Gen S CVT appeared at ₹7,79,800 ex-showroom Delhi in the September 2025 release. That is below ₹9 lakh on an ex-showroom basis. Because the current homepage gives only a starting price and no complete variant breakdown, you must verify whether this exact transmission and trim remain orderable and what its current city price is.

3rd Gen V MT — the dated manual entry for the newer generation
The 3rd Gen V MT was listed at ₹7,40,800 ex-showroom Delhi in the dated release. The current homepage’s New Amaze starting price is ₹7,65,400, so the newer generation’s current entry point should be treated as the live reference until Honda supplies a dated variant quote. Ask the dealer to identify the model generation and model year on the quotation rather than relying on the word “Amaze” alone.
3rd Gen V CVT — automatic option below the dated ceiling
The 3rd Gen V CVT was listed at ₹8,55,100 ex-showroom Delhi effective 22 September 2025. It was below ₹9 lakh on that date, but an automatic transmission does not guarantee an on-road total under ₹9 lakh. Request the complete local quote and check the quote date before paying a booking amount.
3rd Gen VX MT — dated manual version still below the line
The 3rd Gen VX MT appeared at ₹8,41,400 ex-showroom Delhi in the same release. It is the highest 3rd Gen manual trim in that dated table that remained under ₹9 lakh. The current equipment list and price must still be confirmed: the available evidence does not verify what features distinguish V from VX or whether the listed price remains applicable.

The 3rd Gen VX CVT and ZX MT were each listed at ₹9,14,600, while the ZX CVT was ₹9,99,900. Those prices were above the ex-showroom ceiling on 22 September 2025. They should not be marketed as under-₹9-lakh choices without a later official price change that brings them below the limit.

Step-by-step: verify a Honda Amaze under ₹9 lakh in your city
- Decide which budget you mean. Write “₹9 lakh ex-showroom” or “₹9 lakh on-road” at the top of your notes. The answer and the eligible variants differ.
- Start with the live Honda listing. Use the current homepage’s model starting prices as the first filter: New Amaze and Amaze 2nd Gen are the entries below ₹9 lakh; City and Elevate are not.
- Specify generation and transmission. Tell the dealer whether you want 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen, and MT or CVT. A generic request for “the Amaze under ₹9 lakh” can return a different generation or an unavailable trim.
- Request a dated, written quote. Ask for the model, variant, transmission, manufacturing or model-year identification, ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, accessories and every other charge. The quote should state the city and its validity period.
- Check the threshold on the correct line. For an ex-showroom budget, compare the ex-showroom line with ₹9 lakh. For an on-road budget, add every mandatory line and compare the final payable total.
- Confirm stock and delivery. Ask whether the quoted car is physically allocated, factory-orderable or dependent on future availability. A starting price does not guarantee a car in your city.
- Reconfirm before booking. Honda’s notices say prices can change. Obtain a fresh quote immediately before payment and retain the version that shows the agreed price and charges.
Questions to put to the dealer
- Is this quote for the 2nd Gen or 3rd Gen Amaze?
- Is the transmission MT or CVT, and is that exact variant currently orderable?
- Which city and tax jurisdiction does the quote cover?
- Is the displayed price ex-showroom, and what is the complete on-road total?
- Are registration, insurance and optional accessories separated from mandatory charges?
- How long is the quoted price valid, and can it change before invoicing?
- Is the quoted vehicle available now, or is the price based only on a catalogue listing?
Common mistakes when searching for a Honda below ₹9 lakh
Using an old Delhi price as a current national price
The September 2025 table is explicitly for Delhi ex-showroom pricing. It cannot establish today’s price in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata or any other city. Use it to understand the dated variant structure, then replace it with a current local quote.
Calling an ex-showroom price an on-road deal
Even a version listed below ₹9 lakh can exceed that amount after local registration, insurance and other charges. If your ceiling is the final payment, ask for the on-road total rather than subtracting a guessed amount from the ex-showroom figure.
Assuming the homepage starting price identifies every available trim
A starting price identifies an entry point, not a complete catalogue. The current homepage result does not show the full New Amaze variant breakdown. Transmission, generation and stock must be confirmed separately.
Mixing the two Amaze generations
“New Amaze” and “Amaze – 2nd Gen” are separate entries on Honda’s current homepage. The dated release also lists 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen rows separately. Always record the generation on the quote and booking form.

Ranking trims by price alone
The available material does not verify feature content or ownership outcomes for each trim. Price can tell you whether a version crossed the ₹9 lakh line on a particular date; it cannot prove that one trim offers better safety, economy, reliability or resale.
What is established—and what still needs confirmation
Established by Honda’s displayed information:
- The current homepage places New Amaze and Amaze 2nd Gen below ₹9 lakh at their displayed starting prices.
- The current homepage places New City and New Elevate above ₹9 lakh at their displayed starting prices.
- Honda’s 22 September 2025 Delhi ex-showroom release lists five Amaze versions below ₹9 lakh and three above it.
Not established by the available current listing:
- The exact October 2026 city price for every New Amaze variant.
- Which of the dated 2025 variants remains available in each city.
- The current equipment difference between V, VX and ZX, or between the two generations.

The live homepage supports two entry points below the limit, while the City and Elevate do not fit their displayed starting prices.
