In Australia, the phrase can describe older capped-price arrangements, Honda’s current five-service Low Price Services offer, or the Honda Tailored Service price guide. Each has its own eligibility rules, service intervals and exclusions.
The deciding document is your vehicle’s Owner’s Warranty and Service Manual, read alongside the applicable Honda offer terms and the current price guide. Scheduled work due at that exact milestone may be covered; wear, extra maintenance and repairs commonly are not. An authorised Honda Service Centre should identify and price anything outside the covered schedule before doing it.

Honda’s servicing programs are not the same thing
Honda Australia currently uses more than one servicing arrangement. Calling all of them “capped-price servicing” can produce the wrong expectation about eligibility or cost. Confirm which program applies to your vehicle before comparing a headline price.

What the current 5 Low Price Services offer covers
Published prices and service span
For contracts signed on or after 1 October 2026, Honda states that each of the five services costs $279 for petrol and hybrid models, or $199 for the all-electric Super-ONE. These are the offer’s published prices for standard scheduled services, not an all-purpose repair allowance.

The interval shown is a range for the five scheduled visits, not permission to ignore the maintenance timing in your own manual. Your model, engine or battery specification and the date of purchase determine which schedule applies.
Vehicle eligibility
Honda says new vehicles purchased from 1 July 2021 qualify for five low-price services. Ex-demonstrator and ex-service-centre vehicles receive three. Vehicles bought on other dates should be checked against Honda Genuine Servicing information and the terms that applied at purchase.
What is actually performed
The offer covers only the items or work prescribed at that service interval in the vehicle’s Owner’s Warranty and Service Manual. A routine visit may include engine oil and an oil-filter replacement, inspections and other checks. A brake-fluid change, cabin or pollen filter, engine air filter or spark-plug replacement is included only when that particular vehicle’s schedule says it is due.
Consequently, “five services” does not mean five identical packages and does not mean every maintenance component is replaced at every visit. Ask the centre to show the interval in the manual that supports each included item.

How the Tailored Service Program works
Coverage period
Honda’s Tailored Service Program supplies a price guide for eligible vehicles for up to five years from first retail registration or 100,000km, whichever occurs first. The limit is measured against the vehicle’s history, not simply the date you personally bought it.
Honda’s FAQ says qualifying new-introduction and full-model-change vehicles first sold from 21 July 2015 to 30 June 2021 were covered, with an Accord Euro exception. Vehicles purchased from 2014 but before 21 July 2015 may instead be eligible for an older capped-price service program. A Honda centre must verify the individual vehicle before you rely on either statement.
Base and Adaptive items
The guide divides scheduled work into “Base” services and additional “Adaptive” items. Honda’s examples of Adaptive items include cabin pollen filters, engine air filters, brake fluid and spark plugs. Whether one is due depends on the vehicle’s age, distance travelled and the manual’s maintenance schedule.
For listed Base and Adaptive work, the program guide describes prices that include labour, materials, lubricants, sundries and GST, subject to amendments to the guide. The guide is not a promise that every possible repair or consumable is included.
Items that can cost extra
Wear and condition-related parts
Honda’s Low Price Services page excludes additional intermediate servicing, additional maintenance and wear-and-tear items. Its examples include:

These parts may be inspected during a scheduled service, but inspection does not make replacement part of the low-price service. Replacement depends on condition and is normally quoted separately.

Repairs and damage
Repairs for damage, failure or defects caused by misuse or an accident are outside the low-price offer. The Tailored Service terms similarly exclude accident or misuse repairs. A manufacturing defect handled under warranty is also not a Tailored Service item; it follows the warranty process instead.
Extra maintenance requested by the owner
If you request work beyond the listed schedule—such as an additional oil change or an extra inspection—the request is not automatically covered. The Tailored Service terms exclude maintenance requested by the owner beyond the stated schedules.
Severe driving conditions
The Tailored Service terms exclude additional maintenance required by severe conditions. Honda gives examples including mainly driving in temperatures above 35°C or on dusty, muddy or de-iced roads. The manual determines what additional maintenance a vehicle needs in those circumstances.
Other stated exclusions
The Tailored Service terms also exclude services performed outside the stated timing limits and card merchant fees. The exact terms applying to your vehicle and booking should be checked before payment.

Are brake pads, brake fluid and filters included?
Brake pads
Brake pads are wear items. They are not automatically included in a capped or low-price service. If the inspection finds that pads are worn, the centre should quote the replacement separately.
Brake fluid
Brake fluid is schedule-dependent. It can be an Adaptive item in the Tailored Service guide, and it is included in the low-price offer only when the applicable owner manual prescribes it at that interval. A centre should be able to identify the due interval rather than treating brake-fluid replacement as universal.
Cabin or pollen filters
Cabin and pollen filters follow the same rule. They may appear as Adaptive items or as scheduled work for a particular model and mileage, but they are not included in every service simply because the vehicle is enrolled in a program.
How to verify your exact price before booking
- Record the vehicle details. Note the model, grade, model year, powertrain, VIN if available, first retail-registration date, purchase date and current odometer reading.
- Identify the program. Ask whether the vehicle is under the five Low Price Services offer, the Tailored Service Program or an older arrangement. Do not assume the program from the vehicle’s age alone.
- Match the service milestone. Use the Owner’s Warranty and Service Manual to identify the time-and-distance interval due now. For Super-ONE, use its separate kilometre intervals rather than the petrol/hybrid schedule.
- Check the current guide or offer terms. A historical price, an online discussion or a previous invoice may no longer apply. Ask the centre for the current figure for your exact vehicle and milestone.
- Request an itemised estimate. Have the quote separate scheduled Base or standard work from Adaptive items, wear replacements, severe-condition maintenance and repairs.
- Authorise extras explicitly. Honda says an authorised centre will contact you for approval before completing maintenance outside the covered schedules. Confirm the extra price before work starts.
- Keep the paperwork. Retain the itemised quote, approval record and final invoice with the service history. This helps establish what was covered if eligibility or timing is questioned later.
How to read Honda’s published price figures
A program price and a model-specific service estimate answer different questions. The five Low Price Services figures are offer prices for eligible scheduled visits under the stated contract conditions. A price-guide estimate can cover a wider set of listed work and may be revised.
Honda’s published Civic guide says its estimated values were calculated using Honda’s estimated labour and parts costs as at 1 August 2025. Those estimates can change and apply to the identified Civic model and service, not automatically to every Honda. They are not necessarily the final price a Honda Centre charges for work outside the low-price offer.

The Civic guide specifically warns that tyres, batteries, brake pads and wipers may require replacement at additional cost. Treat that as a reminder to budget for condition-based work, not as a prediction that your car needs those parts.
Examples of how the rules work
A scheduled filter replacement
If the manual lists an engine air filter or cabin filter at your current interval, the item may be included under the applicable scheduled or Adaptive allowance. If the interval does not call for it, a recommendation to replace it is additional maintenance and should be priced separately.
Brake pads found below the safe limit
The inspection can reveal worn pads during a covered service, but pad replacement remains a wear-item charge. You can approve it, defer it when safe and lawful to do so, or seek another quote; the scheduled inspection itself does not make the parts free.

Where the manual requires extra servicing for predominantly dusty, muddy or similarly severe use, that work falls outside the ordinary schedule allowance described by the Tailored Service terms. Tell the centre about the actual driving environment so the correct interval is applied.
A vehicle just outside the time or distance limit
The Tailored Service terms exclude services outside their stated timing limits. If the vehicle has passed five years from first retail registration or 100,000km, whichever came first, ask Honda whether another program or ordinary service pricing applies rather than assuming the guide price continues.
Questions to ask the service centre
- Which Honda program and contract date are you using for this VIN?
- What exact time-and-kilometre interval is due today?
- Which line items are standard or Base work, and which are Adaptive?
- Are any filters, brake fluid or spark plugs due under my manual now?
- Which recommendations are wear items or repairs outside the program?
- What is the total price including GST, and does it include any merchant fee?
- Will you contact me before doing work outside the covered schedule?
Bottom line
Honda capped-price servicing covers scheduled maintenance only, and the covered list changes with the vehicle and interval. The current Low Price Services offer and the Tailored Service Program are separate arrangements; neither automatically pays for brake pads, tyres, wipers, balancing, alignment, accident damage or every filter and fluid at every visit. Use the owner manual to establish what is due, verify the program and current price with an authorised Honda Service Centre, and require an itemised quote and approval for anything outside the schedule.
