How the Maxia Van 680 DT’s dual-lounge layout works
The DT has a lounge at each end of its living area. Up front, the driver and passenger seats swivel to face the cabin. At the rear, a wraparound sofa sits around a removable dining table that swivels for use at mealtimes. New Atlas describes the DT as omitting the two-seat passenger bench behind the driver found in the 680 ET, making the rear seating area part of the lounge rather than an additional travel-seat row. New Atlas’s July 5, 2024 overview describes this arrangement.
The rear sofa’s fold-down benches can be arranged as two separate sleeping places or joined into one larger bed. This means one person can sleep while the other uses the remaining sofa seating, rather than converting the entire rear lounge at once. New Atlas gives the individual beds as 200 × 86 cm each and the combined bed as 200 × 172 cm. Hobby’s June 2025 specification lists the individual beds as 2,000 × 860 mm.

The optional cab-bed conversion is separate from the rear sofa arrangement; its dimensions are listed in Hobby’s 2025 specification. Confirm the exact options and configuration on a particular vehicle before relying on the published figures.

What changes compared with the 680 ET?
The clearest distinction is how the back of the van is used. The 680 ET has a foldaway rear bed; the DT replaces it with the wraparound sofa and removable swivel table. That makes the DT’s rear area usable as a lounge during the day, while still allowing it to become sleeping space at night.
The layout also affects passenger capacity. Hobby’s June 2025 model table lists the DT with two driving seats, two standard berths and one optional berth. The same table lists the 680 ET with two driving seats and two berths. The DT therefore does not gain extra standard sleeping places over the ET in that specification; its distinguishing change is the lounge-focused rear arrangement. Check the documentation for the exact model year and market when comparing vehicles.

Can the lounge make room for gear?
New Atlas reports that the rear table and a sofa connector can be stowed to leave an aisle for long items. This provides a way to carry some longer gear through the living area, but the article does not give a cargo-length or payload test for that arrangement. Actual usable space will depend on the item and the van’s configuration.
Kitchen and washroom details
New Atlas’s 2024 description lists a kitchen with a two-burner stove, sink, 90-litre compressor fridge and flip-up work surface. It also describes a compact wet bath with a foldaway sink and swivel toilet. These are reported features of the vehicle described in that article; equipment can vary by model year and market, so verify them against the specific van’s specification.

Published 2025 dimensions and vehicle specification
Hobby’s specification dated June 13, 2025 describes the Maxia Van 680 DT as 6,836 mm long, 2,040 mm wide and 2,858 mm high, with 2,050 mm of interior headroom. It lists a Volkswagen Crafter 2.0-litre TDI producing 130 kW (177 hp), an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The same manufacturer sheet gives a maximum technically permissible laden mass of 3,500 kg, a mass in running order of 3,194 kg and a payload of 306 kg. These are published specifications, not measurements of an individual van; equipment and vehicle-specific weights affect what can actually be carried.

What the published prices do—and do not—show
Hobby’s 2025 German price list gives a factory price of €89,750 including 19% German VAT. The €69,750 figure reported around launch was a promotional introductory price, not a continuing discount: Hobby’s 2024 launch announcement says the offer ended in May 2024. These dated German prices do not establish current 2026 dealer stock or a transaction price in any market.
The 2025 German list also names a 350 cm Thule Omnistor awning as an optional accessory at €1,418 including German VAT. Treat that as a dated list price for the listed option, not a quote for a particular van; confirm compatibility with its exact build.
