It does support a useful comparison of three model-year-specific choices: Cadillac’s 2026 CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing, and BMW’s 2025 M3. Their power, drivetrain, transmission and practicality differ enough that the right fit depends on more than a headline 0–60 time.
Three performance sedans with documented specifications
These are high-performance versions of larger nameplates, not specifications that apply to every CT4, CT5 or 3 Series. The figures below come from the manufacturers: Cadillac’s 2026 product information and BMW’s U.S. release for the 2025 M3. Acceleration figures are manufacturer claims, not independent test results.
| Model year and trim | Engine and output | Drive and transmission | Acceleration and practical details |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing | 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6; 472 hp and 445 lb-ft | Rear-wheel drive; six-speed manual or available 10-speed automatic | Cadillac claims 0–60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Seating and cargo figures are not stated in the cited CT4 source. Cadillac specifications |
| 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing | Supercharged 6.2-liter V8; 668 hp and 659 lb-ft | Rear-wheel drive; six-speed manual standard or available 10-speed automatic | Five seats and 11.9 cubic feet of cargo space; Cadillac flags limited availability. A 0–60 mph figure is not stated in the cited source. Cadillac specifications Cadillac sedan overview |
| 2025 BMW M3 | 473 hp for the manual M3; 503 hp for rear-wheel-drive Competition; 523 hp for Competition with M xDrive | The 2025 U.S. release describes manual and automatic variants; the 523-hp Competition version has M xDrive | BMW gives the M xDrive model a 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds. Other body, seating and cargo figures are not stated in the cited release. BMW Group PressClub USA, 2025 M3 release |
How to choose among these three
For a manual and rear-wheel drive
The 2026 CT4-V Blackwing pairs its 472-hp V6 with a standard six-speed manual, while the CT5-V Blackwing has a standard six-speed manual behind a much more powerful V8. BMW’s 2025 M3 release also lists a manual version, rated at 473 hp. These are distinct cars in size and output; choose based on the vehicle you can use comfortably, not just on the shared availability of a clutch pedal.
For all-wheel drive
The cited Cadillac Blackwing specifications are rear-wheel drive. BMW’s 2025 M3 Competition with M xDrive is the all-wheel-drive choice among these examples, with 523 hp and BMW’s claimed 3.4-second 0–60 mph time. All-wheel drive can be useful for putting power down in low-traction conditions, but it does not remove the need for appropriate tires or careful driving.

For maximum power and a stated cargo figure
The 2026 CT5-V Blackwing has the largest stated output here, at 668 hp and 659 lb-ft, and Cadillac lists five seats and 11.9 cubic feet of cargo volume. Its rear-wheel-drive layout and limited availability are also relevant to a buyer deciding whether its performance and everyday utility fit their needs.

A dependable “best ten” list requires the same checks for every candidate: current U.S. model-year status, order or dealer availability, price, power and torque, transmission choices, drivetrain, seating and cargo, and comparable acceleration data with its source clearly identified. Those checks are not established consistently for ten cars here, so adding more models or ranking ten would imply a level of verification the available manufacturer information does not provide. A secondary Car and Driver performance-sedan ranking offers list context, but it does not establish current official specifications and availability for ten candidates.

Check model year and availability before shopping
- Match the model year to the specification: the Cadillac figures above are for 2026; the BMW figures are for 2025.
- Confirm the precise trim and drivetrain. Output varies between M3 versions, and the Blackwing figures do not describe every CT4 or CT5.
- Ask a Cadillac dealer about CT5-V Blackwing order status and local stock; Cadillac labels the model limited availability.
- Compare the manufacturer’s performance claim with independent testing only when the test conditions and vehicle configuration are identified.
