The next-generation Lexus LFA has been revealed as the LFA Concept, a battery-electric two-seat sports car concept. Lexus has disclosed its estimated dimensions and design priorities, and the concept made dynamic hill-climb runs at Goodwood in July 2026. Production, timing, price and final performance specifications have not been confirmed in the official information cited here.
What is the next-generation Lexus LFA?
Lexus presented the LFA Concept as a battery-electric sports-car concept on December 5, 2025. The company says its exterior and interior had previously appeared as the Lexus Sport Concept at Monterey Car Week 2025 and Japan Mobility Show 2025; LFA Concept is its official name. Lexus’s announcement describes the car as an exploration of the potential of a BEV sports car, not as a confirmed production model.
Is the new Lexus LFA electric?
Yes: Lexus identifies the LFA Concept as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The cited specifications do not disclose battery chemistry, motor count, power output, acceleration, range or charging speed, so those details cannot yet be stated as facts.
What are the LFA Concept’s dimensions?
Lexus gives the following manufacturer-estimated specifications for the concept:

How is it related to the Toyota GR GT and GR GT3?
Lexus says the LFA Concept shares core technologies and development aspirations with Toyota Gazoo Racing’s GR GT and GR GT3. All three are positioned as related flagship projects, with an emphasis on a low center of gravity, low weight with high rigidity, and aerodynamic performance. The LFA Concept is the BEV in this group; Toyota describes the GR GT road car as using a V8 hybrid powertrain and the GR GT3 as a competition car. Toyota’s announcement and premiere presentation do not establish that the LFA Concept shares the GR GT’s engine or hybrid system, nor do they confirm interchangeable parts.

What has Lexus said about its structure and cockpit?
Lexus describes an all-aluminum body frame designed for light weight and high rigidity, a low center of gravity and aerodynamic performance. The company says the concept is based on the GR GT’s all-aluminum body frame; that shared structural basis does not mean the two cars have the same powertrain.
Inside, Lexus says the cockpit is organized around a focused driving position. The steering wheel is designed for sports-car operation, while the switches are positioned for intended blind-touch use. These are the maker’s design aims, not independent findings about how the car performs on the road.

Has the LFA Concept driven in public?
Yes. Lexus Canada reported that the concept made dynamic hill-climb runs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, held July 9–12, 2026. The car had been expected only for static display; development driver Hiroaki Ishiura was among the named drivers. Lexus Canada’s report confirms a running concept or prototype, but it does not establish commercial availability.
Is the next Lexus LFA going into production?
The cited official announcements do not confirm production. Lexus has revealed a concept and described its design and development direction, but has not announced a production decision, launch window or final production specifications.
