No confirmed “affordable” Koenigsegg supercar has been announced. Founder Christian von Koenigsegg has spoken about making the company’s work more accessible, and a July 2025 interview previewed an unnamed new car. But that interview did not describe the car as cheaper, give it a name, or state a price. The idea that it will be as wild as the rest of the lineup may be appealing; the affordable-car claim remains unverified.
What Koenigsegg has actually said about its next car
In an interview published by Top Gear on 16 July 2025, von Koenigsegg said the company expected to introduce “something new” in roughly one to one and a half years and then reopen order books. He described the vehicle as unique and special, with the possibility of new technology.
That was a forecast made in 2025, not a guaranteed launch date that can be treated as current confirmation. The interview supplied no model name or price and did not call the car affordable or entry-level. It also quoted von Koenigsegg on the sensory qualities of combustion cars, but that opinion does not establish this vehicle’s powertrain.
Accessibility is a past ambition, not a model announcement
A The Drive report published 25 August 2022 recounts von Koenigsegg saying he would like more people to enjoy the company’s work and that its technology could gradually “trickle down” into a more accessible realm. The same report describes his concern that cheaper cars and higher production would require investment and carry business risk.

Those remarks support a general interest in accessibility, not a commitment to a specific lower-priced supercar. “Affordable” also needs a comparison: a car might be less expensive than other Koenigseggs without being affordable to ordinary sports-car buyers. No supported price range for such a car is available in these sources.
Why “affordable” is a difficult fit for the brand
Koenigsegg describes itself as a Swedish megacar and technology company. On its official About page, the manufacturer says each car carries a premium price, is built by a select group of artisans, and combines handmade metal and carbon-fiber components made at company facilities with specialist supplier parts. The company characterizes its output as a handful of bespoke hypercars each year.

That production approach helps explain why any future move toward broader access would be a significant shift. It does not prove what a new car would cost, how many would be built, or whether it would retain the same level of bespoke construction. Without a price and a clear comparison, calling a car “affordable” is speculation rather than a useful buying description.
Is the RAW concept the rumored affordable Koenigsegg?
Some online coverage has connected the affordable-car idea to RAW. A 2022 Quickshift Cars video result describes RAW as an affordable Koenigsegg concept and asks whether it will reach production. That is secondary commentary, not an official production announcement; the available material does not establish RAW’s technical specifications or production status.

The evidence therefore does not connect RAW to the unnamed car discussed in 2025. Treat claims that RAW is a confirmed, forthcoming production Koenigsegg as unsubstantiated unless they are backed by a direct company announcement or a stronger original source.
What the current lineup does—and does not—show
Koenigsegg’s official homepage, as reviewed for this article, features the Sadair’s Spear, CC850, Gemera, Jesko Attack, and Jesko Absolut. Its descriptions emphasize performance, driver focus, and the Gemera’s four-seat Mega GT concept; none is identified there as an affordable model. The website lineup can change, so it should be checked for the latest announcements.

What remains unknown
For the rumored affordable Koenigsegg, the basic facts needed to judge the claim are still unconfirmed: a model name, a price, specifications, production plans, and a current, confirmed launch date. Until Koenigsegg supplies those details, the most accurate description is an unannounced possibility—not a promised budget supercar.
