An independent road test of the 2021 Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special reported a top speed of 225 km/h (about 140 mph). That is a test result, not a factory-rated maximum: Harley-Davidson’s cited current specifications list power and torque but do not publish a top-speed figure.
What top speed did the Pan America 1250 reach?
Testmotor.nl reported reaching 225 km/h on a 2021 Pan America 1250 Special road test. The report places the figure in a real-road test context, but the available account does not specify a measurement method or enough test conditions to treat it as a controlled, repeatable benchmark. Is 140 mph an official Harley-Davidson top-speed rating?
No official top-speed rating appears in Harley-Davidson’s cited specifications for the 2026 Pan America 1250 Special. The page lists a Revolution Max 1250 engine rated at 150 hp at 8,750 rpm and 94 ft-lb of torque at 6,750 rpm, along with a 578 lb running-order weight and 5.6-gallon fuel capacity. What did the tester say about stability?
Testmotor.nl described the motorcycle as stable at the reported speed, while noting that the rider sometimes felt slight movement in longer bends. The tester also said optional cases or soft luggage changed the bike’s behavior. These are observations from that particular test, not a universal safety assessment or a guarantee for different loads, roads, riders, or setups.

A published figure depends on more than the motorcycle’s advertised horsepower. Model year and trim, rider and carried load, luggage, tires, test method, and test conditions can all affect a reported result or how it should be interpreted. The available sources do not provide a same-condition comparison across current Pan America trims, so the 2021 test should not be assumed to represent every model year or configuration.

Tires and setup matter
Harley-Davidson’s 2025 owner manual lists Michelin Scorcher Adventure tires for the RA1250S Pan America Special: 120/70R19 60V at the front and 170/60R17 72V at the rear. It warns that tires other than those specified can adversely affect stability, handling, or braking. This is maintenance and setup guidance, not evidence that a particular tire choice raises top speed. Consult the 2025 owner’s manual.
