The Fat Boy is the heritage-styled cruiser, defined by its chrome headlamp nacelle, Lakester wheels and exceptionally wide rear tire. The Fat Bob has a more aggressive look, with inverted forks, muscular tires and an upswept exhaust in the documented 2020 Fat Bob 114. The comparison is not year-for-year: current US specifications are available here for the 2026 Fat Boy, while the Fat Bob details are historical.

How the Fat Boy and Fat Bob differ

The clearest distinction is visual and structural. Harley-Davidson presents the Fat Boy around a broad, imposing silhouette and heritage cues. Its 2026 US model has machined Lakester cast-aluminum wheels, a chrome headlamp nacelle and a 240-section rear tire. The 2020 Fat Bob 114 catalog instead highlights an upswept 2-1-2 exhaust, massive tires and inverted front forks—details that give it a more muscular, aggressive presentation.

Those are documented differences between specific model-year evidence, not a direct comparison of two current, same-year bikes. The available information does not establish current US Fat Bob availability, price or specifications.

Which one fits your priorities?

  • Choose the Fat Boy for its documented design cues if you want the chrome nacelle, Lakester wheels and wide-tire silhouette of the current US model.
  • Consider a Fat Bob 114 for its documented hardware and styling if the inverted forks and upswept exhaust appeal to you, while recognizing that the cited specification is from 2020.
  • For a used-bike decision, compare the actual motorcycles. Verify each bike’s model year, condition, service records and local price, and assess fit in person rather than relying on specifications from different years.

There is no basis here for declaring one model universally better or for making a firsthand riding or handling comparison. Your choice depends on the particular model years available and which styling and documented features you prefer.
