It has not, however, announced a final $6,000 MSRP or put the motorcycle on sale.
The $6,000 figure came from a July 2025 statement by former Harley-Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz, who said the company was targeting an entry price below $6,000. Harley-Davidson’s more recent official strategy presentation describes the Sprint as costing below $10,000, without giving a final price.

What Harley-Davidson has officially confirmed
Harley-Davidson’s May 5, 2026 “Back to the Bricks” strategy presentation lists the Sprint as a future model. The company describes it as:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- A lightweight, small-scale motorcycle
- An entry point for new riders
- Customizable
- Powered by an oil-cooled engine
- Priced below $10,000
The presentation places the Sprint alongside Harley-Davidson’s planned return of the Sportster in a broader effort to attract new customers and give them a potential path into larger, more expensive motorcycles.

That is the extent of the confirmed technical information. Harley-Davidson has not published the engine displacement, horsepower, curb weight, transmission, equipment list, colors, country of manufacture, dealer arrival date or final U.S. MSRP.
Where the $6,000 claim came from
On July 30, 2025, then-CEO Jochen Zeitz said Harley-Davidson was targeting an entry price below $6,000 for a new small motorcycle scheduled for release in 2026. He also said the model would be shown to Harley-Davidson’s global dealer network in October 2025.
That was a target, not a formal pricing announcement. It did not establish a $6,000 sticker price, and Harley-Davidson has not repeated that figure as the Sprint’s final MSRP in its latest public materials.

Is the Sprint available to buy?
No. The Sprint had still not been officially launched by late June 2026, and Harley-Davidson had not published a retail configurator, order page or delivery schedule.
A Harley-Davidson Riding Academy dealer communication reported by Powersports Business referred to ordering X350 training motorcycles “well in advance of availability of Sprint.” That supports the model’s existence on Harley-Davidson’s product roadmap, but it does not confirm when customers can place retail orders or collect motorcycles from dealers.

Until Harley-Davidson publishes a model announcement with specifications, pricing and delivery information, claims that the Sprint is already available—or that dealers are selling it for exactly $6,000—should be treated cautiously.

What remains speculation
Several details have circulated around the Sprint, but they have not been confirmed by Harley-Davidson:
| Claim | Officially confirmed? |
|---|---|
| Final price of $6,000 | No. The earlier statement referred to a target below $6,000. |
| Price below $10,000 | Yes, as a broad price description in Harley-Davidson’s strategy presentation. |
| 350cc to 400cc engine | No. |
| Use of the X440 engine | No. |
| Manufacture in India | No. |
| Oil-cooled engine | Yes, stated in the strategy presentation. |
| 2026 release | Previously discussed as a target, but no final customer delivery date has been published. |
The possible connection to the X440 is understandable because Harley-Davidson already sells that single-cylinder platform in some markets through its partnership with Hero MotoCorp. It remains speculation, though, until the company identifies the Sprint’s engine and manufacturing arrangements.
Why the Sprint matters to Harley-Davidson
Harley-Davidson’s traditional lineup has concentrated on larger, more expensive motorcycles. A smaller and less costly model would give the company a way to address riders who are new to motorcycling, have limited budgets or want a more manageable bike for commuting and urban use.
The strategy presentation makes that purpose explicit: Harley-Davidson sees the Sprint as a way to bring new riders into the brand and create future trade-up customers. A successful entry-level model could therefore be more important than its direct sales numbers suggest.

The motorcycle also fits with Harley-Davidson’s broader attempt to rebuild the lower end of its portfolio. The company has previously introduced smaller-displacement models in selected markets, while its future plan also includes the return of the Sportster. The Sprint appears intended to sit below those larger motorcycles as an accessible starting point.
Leadership has changed since the original announcement
The original below-$6,000 statement came from Jochen Zeitz. Artie Starrs became Harley-Davidson’s president and CEO in October 2025. That leadership change is another reason to distinguish the earlier target from the company’s latest confirmed position.
The current public information does not show that Starrs or Harley-Davidson has committed to a $6,000 U.S. MSRP. It confirms the Sprint as a planned model and places it below $10,000, but the final commercial details remain unpublished.
What to watch for next
A proper launch announcement should answer the questions that Harley-Davidson has not yet addressed:
Best Value
- High Resistance ABS Shell With Micrometrically Adjustable Strap
- Meets or Exceeds FMVSS-218 and DOT Safety Standards
- Helmet Liner / Cheek Pads are Lightweight, Soft and Easily Removable and Washable
- Sleek and Lightweight Design Reduces Wind Noise
- Modular Flip-Up Function Anti-Scratch, Anti-Fog and Wide View Clear Visor
- What is the final U.S. MSRP, including any destination or setup charges?
- What engine displacement and output does the Sprint use?
- How much does it weigh with fuel and other operating fluids?
- Where is it manufactured?
- Which markets will receive it?
- When can customers place orders and expect dealer delivery?
- What safety equipment, electronics and warranty coverage are included?
Until those details appear in Harley-Davidson’s official model information, the Sprint should be described as a confirmed future motorcycle—not as a launched $6,000 production bike.
