The H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Alpine Drivers and Mechanics Editions are a paired limited-edition set, but they are not two versions of the same watch. One is a mechanical skeleton flyback chronograph; the other is a connected digital instrument intended for Formula 1 team use. Unveiled alongside the Spanish Grand Prix, the collaboration makes its point through that contrast: movement-focused timing for the driver, and race information for the mechanics.

Why Alpine and H. Moser made two different watches

Alpine frames the collaboration around a practical question: how a Swiss watchmaker can support its Formula 1 and Endurance teams in their pursuit of precision. The brands say the collaboration began in 2024, and that the watches were developed with Alpine Motorsports and unveiled to coincide with the Spanish Grand Prix. That is the partners’ account of the project; it establishes the intended setting, not independently measured performance benefits.

The roles are deliberately distinct. The Drivers Edition puts a traditional mechanical chronograph and its visible movement at the center. The Mechanics Edition is a connected display with functions Alpine and Moser describe as useful to a team working around race events. The design therefore reads less like a matching pair of ordinary wristwatches than two different instruments packaged together.

What comes in the set

H. Moser & Cie. lists the pair under reference 6700-1200 as a 200-piece limited edition, with both watches supplied together in one case. The manufacturer’s listing gives a price of CHF 59,000 excluding VAT. That is the listed price, not a final price inclusive of local taxes or a statement of current stock or reservation availability. Drivers Edition: a skeleton flyback chronograph

The Drivers Edition uses HMC 700, which H. Moser & Cie. identifies as its first skeletonised chronograph movement, developed with movement specialist AGENHOR. The brand describes central chronograph minutes and seconds with flyback, rather than separate chronograph subdials. A flyback function allows the timing sequence to be reset and restarted in one operation, a useful chronograph capability in principle; the listing does not establish a particular race procedure in which the watch is used.

The manufacturer lists a steel case measuring 42.3 mm across, water resistance of 12 ATM and a 72-hour power reserve. Those are the Drivers Edition’s specifications and should not be confused with the connected watch’s reported operating duration.

Moser says the design draws on single-seater suspension, a racing helmet and an Alpine A110 wheel rim. These are stated design inspirations, not literal components of the watch. The openworked construction makes the mechanical architecture part of the visual identity, while the centrally displayed chronograph timing keeps the dial layout unlike a conventional multi-subdial racing chronograph.

Mechanics Edition: connected race information

The Mechanics Edition is the set’s digital, connected instrument. H. Moser & Cie. says its display remains silent on standby and activates to show selected information. The listed functions are:

A small domed Funky Blue fumé dial shows time and date alongside the digital functionality. The page presents the watch as an information tool for the team rather than as another mechanical chronograph. Alpine calls it “a real work tool” designed to streamline communication and processes. That is the team’s description of intent; the available statements do not demonstrate time savings or improved race results.

The Foundation of Haute Horlogerie (FHH) reports an operating duration of one year in time-only mode or six Grand Prix weekends in connected mode. Those figures are from FHH, not the manufacturer product listing, which does not state those durations; they should be treated as attributed operating claims rather than independently verified testing results.

How the collaboration is described

Alpine’s announcement says the watches were developed in close collaboration with Alpine Motorsports. It credits AGENHOR’s development work on the Drivers Edition movement and describes the Mechanics Edition as a platform developed with Alpine teams. H. Moser’s product copy calls the latter a “digital marvel” inspired by the people behind racing. Both accounts explain how the partners position the project, but neither amounts to independent evidence of on-track effectiveness.

The most grounded way to understand the pair is by what each is designed to present: the Drivers Edition foregrounds mechanical timing and movement construction; the Mechanics Edition foregrounds connected information and race-event notifications. They share Alpine identity and a case, but serve different stated functions.
