In New Atlas’s 2020 hands-on review, it felt capable and composed on rough trails, but the smart features could be fiddly to use and were not essential on familiar rides. Today, a used-bike buyer also has to weigh a practical issue: Greyp says the brand has closed, even as its aftersales team remains available for service and warranty claims.
What kind of e-bike is the Greyp G6.1?
The G6.1 is an enduro-style electric mountain bike, not a commuter with trail-ready styling. The specific bike reviewed by New Atlas in 2020 had a carbon-composite frame, dual RockShox suspension, an MPF mid-drive motor, a SRAM EX1 e-bike drivetrain, Formula Cura disc brakes and integrated cameras. Greyp’s current official site describes a replaceable 700 Wh battery. Components can differ by model version and market, so those review-bike specifications should not be assumed for every G6.1.
New Atlas reported a US$7,999 price for its reviewed bike in 2020. That is a historical figure, not a current asking price or evidence that new bikes are available. The sources establish no current retail stock or live listing.
How did the G6.1 ride?
New Atlas reviewer Loz Blain described the motor delivery as smooth and strong, and found the bike comfortable and capable on roots, rocks, gravel and other rough ground. The review also reported competent shifting. These are impressions from one hands-on review, not laboratory measurements or a current comparison with other e-MTBs.

The bike’s suspension and enduro-style chassis are intended for off-road use. Greyp’s 2022 G-series manual describes use on gravel, paved and unpaved hiking trails, and rougher unpaved terrain within the limits in that manual. Read the manual for the exact model and market rather than treating that description as permission to ride any trail.
What do the cameras and connected features add?
The G6.1’s defining twist is its built-in digital layer. Greyp describes an app dashboard, ride tracking, terrain-aware range information, cameras and an embedded SIM for connectivity. The 2020 review found the technology impressive, but accessing the broader set of functions meant connecting and mounting a phone, which the reviewer considered fiddly. For routine rides on familiar trails, the reviewer did not find every connected feature necessary.

Those descriptions explain the bike’s original design, not the present state of its digital services. Current app, cellular and cloud operation has not been established. Anyone considering a used G6.1 should confirm that the functions they care about work on the specific bike before paying extra for them.
What are the G6.1’s assistance limits?
Greyp’s 2022 G-series manual lists different G6.1 configurations for the EU and US. In both cases, the motor assists only while the rider pedals; the listed cutoffs differ by market.

Greyp’s current homepage says the brand has closed and that its service and aftersales team will remain available for warranty or service claims. That statement does not establish that a particular repair shop, replacement part or warranty transfer is available in your area. With an older connected e-bike, support and component access deserve as much attention as the ride and equipment.

- Check the battery and charger. The battery is removable and rated at 700 Wh in Greyp’s current official materials, but that does not establish the condition or replacement availability of a used battery. Have the actual unit assessed.
- Test the digital functions. Verify the app, cameras and connectivity on the bike itself if they matter to you; ongoing service is not confirmed.
- Confirm the exact variant and paperwork. Match the bike to its market-specific manual, assistance configuration and ownership history.
- Inspect it as a used full-suspension e-MTB. Check the frame, suspension, drivetrain and brakes, and ask for maintenance records before agreeing on a price.
Greyp’s manual directs owners to authorized partners for service and repairs. Because the brand has closed, establish whether an appropriate partner can help before relying on that guidance.
Who is the Greyp G6.1 for?
The G6.1 makes the most sense for a rider seeking a serious off-road e-MTB and who values cameras, ride tracking and integrated connectivity enough to accept phone-dependent controls and uncertainty about ongoing digital services. Its 2020 review supports a positive impression of trail capability, but it does not prove present-day support, current feature availability or superiority to another bike.
