For longer trips, the range figure and the charging results reported by reviewers make planning—and access to charging—central to the decision.
What the 2025 Countryman SE ALL4 is
The SE ALL4 is the all-electric version of the four-door, five-seat Countryman, and ALL4 denotes its all-wheel-drive configuration. It is a crossover rather than a small electric hatchback: the appeal is combining electric propulsion with a larger cabin format and driven wheels at both axles. That description does not, by itself, establish how it performs in every weather or road condition.
MINI USA’s 2025 technical specification lists a full-charge range of 212 miles and energy consumption of 35 kWh per 100 miles. Those are manufacturer specifications for the US model, not a promise of the distance an individual driver will achieve. Route, speed, temperature, and other conditions affect real-world range.
Price: distinguish 2025 launch MSRP from today’s listings
MINI USA’s August 26, 2024 launch release listed the 2025 Countryman SE ALL4 at a base MSRP of $45,200, plus $995 destination and handling. This is historical launch pricing, not a current offer, dealer transaction price, or out-the-door total. The current MINI USA model page lists a $45,200 starting MSRP for the 2027 model, which is a separate model year and should not be used as the 2025 price. Check local inventory and applicable offers with a dealer before budgeting.

Range and charging: the main ownership trade-off
Official range versus individual test results
The 212-mile figure is MINI’s US specification. Independent observations vary and should not be treated as directly comparable measurements: MotorTrend recorded 200 miles in its road-trip range test, while Tom’s Guide reported that its reviewer drove 298.3 miles over a week and averaged 3.2 mi/kWh. The latter is a week of that reviewer’s driving, not a single-charge range result or fleet-wide efficiency figure. Different routes and test conditions mean neither observation rewrites the manufacturer rating or predicts every owner’s result.
DC fast charging on a trip
In MotorTrend’s charging session, the Countryman reached a 131 kW peak and averaged 100 kW while charging from 5% to 80%. These are the publication’s reported results for that session, not a guaranteed charging rate across the battery’s charge range or at every charger. For trip planning, the result is useful context, but the available evidence does not establish a universal stop duration or a standardized comparison against rivals.

Charging at home
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer added 31 miles after 10.45 hours of Level 1 charging during the one-week test. That observation illustrates why ordinary household charging may replenish the battery slowly for drivers who cover substantial daily distances. The reviewer suggested Level 2 charging for higher-mileage routines. Before purchasing an EVSE, confirm the vehicle’s approved connector and charging equipment, available electrical supply, and installation requirements; the reported test did not evaluate or endorse a particular charger.
Cabin technology and everyday usefulness
MINI lists a 9.4-inch round OLED display, MINI Operating System 9, an Intelligent Personal Assistant, and eight Experience Modes for the model. These are equipment and feature descriptions, not a substitute for trying the system. If the screen layout, voice interaction, or selectable modes matter to you, inspect them in the car and check the equipment on the specific vehicle you are considering.

Five seats and a four-door body give the SE ALL4 a practical crossover format, while the electric powertrain removes gasoline stops from normal use when charging is available. The available information does not establish cargo capacity, rear-seat measurements, or a detailed trim and package breakdown, so verify those needs in person rather than assuming every configuration is identical.

- A good fit to investigate: drivers who want an electric, five-seat crossover with AWD and can regularly charge at home or work.
- Plan carefully: drivers whose commute or routine approaches the rated range, or who often travel beyond it, should map charging options and allow for conditions that reduce usable distance.
- Check charging before buying: drivers relying on Level 1 charging should compare the observed replenishment with their daily mileage; higher-use routines may call for an installed Level 2 setup.
- Compare the actual vehicle: confirm price, included equipment, seat and cargo fit, and local availability rather than inferring them from the model name or a different model year.
The evidence supports a conditional verdict, not a universal claim that this is better than every gas Countryman or electric crossover. Its strongest case is the combination of electric drive, AWD, five seats, and MINI’s technology-led cabin. Its limits are more consequential for buyers who need longer between-charge distances or lack convenient charging. A test drive and a realistic route-and-charging plan will tell you more than the range figure alone.
