It is listed with a 300 Ah lithium battery, 150 W solar panel and 200 L of fresh-water capacity. Those specifications describe the camper as advertised; they do not establish that it suits a particular tow vehicle or prove its performance on a given track. Goldfields calls it an “off-road pod camper”; “teardrop” is a broader search description, not the model name used by the maker.
What the 2026 Goldfields Escape is
The Escape is a compact pod camper sold by Goldfields Campers & Caravans in Maryborough, Victoria. The manufacturer describes its construction and equipment for off-road touring, but its product listing is not an independent durability or towing test. Goldfields’ claim that it is “the most feature-loaded pod camper in its class” is promotional language, not a verified comparison.
The dimensions listed by Goldfields are 5.1 m long, 2.2 m wide and 2.2 m high. The body is described as aluminium outer sheet, XPS foam and fibreglass inner lining. The following specifications and inclusions are from the maker’s 2026 Escape listing.

These figures are not enough to determine whether the Escape is compatible with a particular vehicle. Tare is not the loaded travelling mass, and the listing does not establish the camper’s mass in a specific fitted and loaded configuration. Do not treat ATM minus tare as a guaranteed usable payload without the maker’s definitions and configuration details. Ball weight alone also cannot identify a suitable tow vehicle: check the vehicle’s towing rating, towball limit, axle limits and remaining payload against the actual loaded combination, and confirm any applicable state or territory requirements.

Before committing, ask Goldfields and the vehicle manufacturer to confirm the relevant loaded masses and limits in writing. The advertised DO35 hitch, electric brakes and suspension describe camper equipment; they do not replace those checks.

Electrical system
Goldfields lists a Renogy REGO “Power One” integrated management system, a 300 Ah lithium battery as standard, and a 600 Ah upgrade option. Listed charging equipment comprises a 150 W solar panel, a 2,000 W Renogy inverter with an 80 A AC charger, and a 50 A DC–DC charger. USB and USB-C ports and 12 V outlets are also specified.

These are capacity and component claims, not a promise of how long the camper will run appliances off-grid. Actual endurance depends on what is connected, how much it is used, charging conditions and the installed configuration. Ask for the final equipment list and clarify whether the 600 Ah battery is an optional upgrade on your quote.
Water and kitchen
The listed fresh-water capacity is 200 L in total, divided into 120 L and 80 L tanks. Goldfields also specifies an external hot-and-cold shower outlet. Kitchen equipment includes a two-burner stove, deep-dish sink, cutlery tray, prep bench, stainless fold-down bench, hot-water tap and an extra-large slide-out fridge tray. The listed equipment does not identify a fridge as included, so confirm that point rather than assuming the tray comes with one.

The manufacturer lists a hot-dipped galvanised drawbar, 120 × 50 × 3 mm RHS steel, a stone guard and a DO35 Cruisemaster hitch. Suspension is described as independent trailing arms with coil springs and shock absorbers. Other running-gear specifications include electric brakes, 15- or 16-inch all-terrain tyres on alloy rims, one spare, an ARK 750 jockey wheel and a 7-pin flat plug.

The listing does not say that jerry cans are supplied or specify holder dimensions or a compatible can. If buying cans, check the holder measurements and whether the can is suitable for potable water or fuel. The off-road components are manufacturer specifications, not independent evidence of how the Escape performs on a particular route.
Interior, bed and comfort features
The Escape is listed with a caravan queen-style mattress measuring 1,980 × 1,480 mm; Goldfields describes it as between double and queen size. Compare the actual dimensions with your needs rather than relying on the label. Other listed interior equipment includes gloss furnishings, waterproof flooring, a two-speaker radio, two movable three-speed fans, a 21-inch smart TV and antenna, a TV bracket, and three-layer windows.

Escape or Nomad: what to compare
Goldfields’ own Escape-versus-Nomad comparison presents the Escape as the lighter model with lower ball weight, while Nomad is positioned around greater battery capacity, storage and awning coverage. Its entry-price wording does not give a fixed price, so compare written quotes rather than treating that description as a price or market-wide ranking.

Price, availability and warranty: what to confirm
Goldfields’ quote form offers Escape as a selectable model and asks for details including state, purchase timing and payment approach. The reviewed manufacturer pages do not publish a fixed current Escape price, delivery fee or availability. Request a written quote for the exact build and ask it to specify:
- Price, delivery and registration costs, and any other charges
- Standard equipment versus paid options, including the battery configuration
- Stock status or expected build and delivery timing
- Loaded weights for the quoted configuration and how they are determined
- Warranty coverage and the terms that apply to the purchase date
Goldfields states a five-year structural warranty and a two-year general warranty for purchases from February 2026; appliance warranties are provided by the respective appliance manufacturers. Read the written warranty terms for the camper and each appliance before purchase. Goldfields lists its Maryborough address and contact details on its website homepage.
