The vehicles give the post access across terrain that includes sandy shoreline; the reports describe a practical patrol and response role, not a confirmed pursuit assignment.
What will the Broncos do on Jekyll Island?
The two Broncos are assigned to the Georgia State Patrol’s Jekyll Island Post. Road & Track reports that troopers handle traffic enforcement and incidents on and around the beach; an announcement attributed to the Georgia Department of Public Safety describes patrol across the island’s roads, neighborhoods and beaches. MotorBiscuit reproduced that announcement and its claim that GSP is the island’s only law enforcement agency.
That range of duties makes access the central point: the vehicles are intended for island patrol that includes shoreline response as well as ordinary roads. The available reporting does not establish that GSP acquired them specifically for high-speed pursuits or document their performance in any particular beach conditions.
Can visitors drive on Jekyll Island’s beach?
Road & Track says visitors are not permitted to drive on the beach, while law enforcement needs beach access for its work. That is the rule as described in the report; the underlying island regulation was not independently verified here, so consult current local guidance for legal details.

Are these Bronco Badlands models?
The trim and powertrain have not been confirmed. Road & Track says the vehicles appear to be Badlands models, but that is the publication’s visual speculation—not an official specification. Neither report identifies the engine, transmission or a complete build sheet.
What equipment is visible on the patrol Broncos?
Road & Track describes GSP livery, emergency lighting, steel bumpers, a push bar and a WARN winch. It does not identify the winch model or provide a full official equipment list, so those reported visible details should not be treated as a confirmed inventory of every modification.

Are the Broncos replacing existing patrol vehicles?
The reports do not say whether the Broncos replace vehicles already assigned to the post or expand its fleet. The department announcement, as reproduced by MotorBiscuit, calls them “new additions” assigned to the Jekyll Island Post, but that wording does not resolve whether another vehicle is being retired or reassigned.
