What Geely launched in 2025
Geely unveiled the Galaxy A7 EM-i in China on June 19, 2025. The original plug-in hybrid went on sale in August that year. Launch reports described it as a midsize sedan using Geely’s EM-i hybrid system. CarNewsChina’s June 2025 debut report and its August 2025 launch coverage establish the China launch context.
What does 2.67 L/100 km mean?
The 2.67 L/100 km figure was reported for the original A7’s 70 km CLTC electric-range trim, with the battery depleted. It is a claimed test-cycle fuel-consumption result, not an independently measured real-world average. The original 150 km CLTC version was reported at 2.8 L/100 km in depleted-battery mode. These are separate trim figures, not a single number that applies to every 2025 A7.
CLTC ratings are not equivalent to consumption on a particular driver’s commute. Geely’s product-page data note says results vary with driving habits, road conditions, and weather; the cited sources do not establish an independent road test of either launch claim. Geely’s current A7 product page provides the manufacturer’s figures and qualification.

How far does the 2,100 km range claim go?
The launch claim of more than 2,100 km was for combined range with a full tank and full battery charge. It does not mean the car can travel that far on electricity alone. Electric-only range and total combined range answer different questions: the first is the distance available from the charged battery under the stated test cycle, while the second includes fuel as well.
Geely’s current official page promotes 2,150 km of combined range. That is the manufacturer’s current published claim; it should not be recast as a verified everyday distance or merged with the original launch figure.

What are the 21 aerodynamic upgrades?
Geely says the A7 has 21 aerodynamic drag-reduction design points and a drag coefficient of 0.229. The available product information supports those as manufacturer claims, but does not itemize all 21 points or quantify how much each contributes to efficiency. The count is therefore not a published checklist of individually verified modifications. Geely’s product page gives the current claim; the 2025 launch coverage also reported the figures.
How the current specifications differ from the launch figures
The A7’s published lineup has evolved. Geely’s product page, accessed October 8, 2026, lists 150 km and 235 km CLTC electric-range versions and depleted-mode consumption figures of 2.74 and 2.76 L/100 km, respectively. It also advertises 2,150 km combined range. These current-page figures differ from the original launch coverage, which described 70 km and 150 km trims and reported 2.67 and 2.8 L/100 km, respectively.

Is the Galaxy A7 available outside China?
The cited launch coverage and Geely product page establish a China-market vehicle and specification context. They do not establish overseas sales, local homologation, servicing, or warranty support. A buyer outside China should confirm availability and support with an authorized local source rather than assume that a China launch or the word “globally” in a headline means the car is on sale in their country.

For a meaningful comparison with another plug-in hybrid sedan, match the version and model year, battery capacity, CLTC electric range, depleted-battery consumption, and the conditions attached to any combined-range claim. Charging power and time, trim equipment, local pricing, availability, and warranty also affect whether two cars are comparable. The launch coverage names the BYD Seal 06 DM-i and BYD Qin L as competitors, but the cited material does not provide matched current specifications for a numerical comparison.
