GAC Aion launched the Hyper GT global model in China on June 6, 2024. Launch coverage listed an 800V high-voltage system and a claimed range of up to 710 km on the CLTC cycle. Those are published specifications—not proof of 710 km in everyday driving—and “global model” does not confirm that the car was sold outside China.
When did the GAC Hyper GT launch?
GAC Aion introduced the Hyper GT global model in China on June 6, 2024, according to China Securities Journal’s report published the following day. Xinhua likewise reported that the model officially went on sale on June 6. The launch was in the China market; the name “global model” alone does not establish an overseas launch.

Is 710 km the Hyper GT’s real-world range?
No published independent test result for this launch model is established by the cited coverage. The 710 km figure is a CLTC-cycle claim, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed distance in daily driving. Actual range can differ with driving conditions and use; the available launch reporting does not quantify that difference.
What does 800V mean for charging?
An 800V system is the vehicle’s high-voltage architecture, not a promise that every charger will deliver a particular charging speed. Xinhua reported GAC Aion’s claims of up to 450 km added in 15 minutes and up to 191 km in five minutes, but those figures depend on charging conditions that the report did not independently verify. Charger compatibility, available power, and conditions matter when interpreting a rapid-charging claim.

What driver-assistance hardware was reported?
China Securities Journal’s launch coverage described a 34-sensor setup: three lidars, six millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 13 cameras. That is a hardware description, not evidence that the car is safer or capable of autonomous driving in all conditions.
What was the launch price?
China-market launch coverage reported a price range of 203,900–259,900 yuan. This is a historical launch price, not a current quote, an overseas price, or confirmation of present availability. GAC Group also listed the launch price in its June 6, 2024 company announcement.

Was the “global model” launched overseas?
The cited sources establish the June 2024 China launch, not sales or homologation in other countries. CarNewsChina’s pre-launch article treated overseas availability as an expectation based on the “global model” name, rather than confirmed country-by-country availability. These sources do not establish where the car can be bought today, so prospective buyers need current local confirmation.

In its June 2024 launch feature, Xinhua reported that GAC had 7,084 self-built DC fast-charging piles and that its charging alliance covered 90% of China’s charging stations at that time. Those are dated network claims, not current counts or proof that every station supports the Hyper GT’s fastest charging speeds.
