The proposed company, Faurecia Anand Seating India Private Limited, is expected to begin after closing, which the companies expect by the end of 2026, subject to customary conditions including regulatory approvals.
What is the Gabriel India–FORVIA joint venture?
Announced on October 6, 2026, the agreement brings FORVIA together with Gabriel India, ANAND Group’s listed flagship, to expand automotive seating operations in India. The proposed business will make seat frames and complete seats for Indian automakers. The announcement describes a signed agreement, not a completed transaction. FORVIA’s announcement gives the proposed company name as Faurecia Anand Seating India Private Limited.
What will the new company make?
The stated scope covers two product categories: seat frames and complete seats. The release does not specify vehicle models, customer contracts, production capacity, plant locations, launch dates, or whether particular technologies will be used in the products. It is an automotive-supplier venture, not a consumer retail seating brand.
Who will own and control the venture?

The company release frames this combination as part of a local-for-local approach.
When is the transaction expected to close?
The companies expect the transaction to close by the end of 2026. That is a projected schedule, not a confirmed completion date: closing remains subject to customary conditions, including applicable regulatory approvals. Until those conditions are met and the deal closes, the proposed venture should not be described as an operating, completed joint venture.

What is FORVIA’s India seating target?
FORVIA says it aims to reach approximately 10% market share in Indian seating within the next five years. This is the company’s stated ambition, not its current share, an independently verified forecast, or a guaranteed result. FORVIA CEO Martin Fischer said, “When we unveiled our IGNITE strategy earlier this year, we highlighted India as a key growth driver for FORVIA.”
How does the deal relate to the companies’ earlier partnership?
FORVIA and ANAND say their relationship began in 1991 in Clean Mobility. That history provides context for the new agreement, but it does not mean their seating venture has been operating since 1991; the proposed seating company is part of the agreement announced in October 2026.
