Ford’s electric SuperVan 4.2 completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:48.393 on 5 August 2025, with Romain Dumas driving. The time came on the full 20.832-kilometre circuit, but it was not the overall Nürburgring lap record: the official listing classifies the bespoke demonstrator among prototypes and pre-production vehicles, a category with faster laps.
What lap time did the Ford SuperVan 4.2 set?

The lap covered the full 20.832-kilometre Nordschleife. Nürburgring says official laps use a flying start at the start/finish line in the T13 section. The prototype runs were measured with calibrated timing equipment under notarial supervision. Nürburgring’s event report Record listing
Is it the Nürburgring lap record?
No. The official listing places the SuperVan in “Prototypes / pre-production vehicles,” not in an overall record category it leads. That category includes quicker entries, among them the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo at 5:19.546 and Volkswagen ID.R at 6:05.336. Those times are listed in the same category, so the SuperVan’s 6:48.393 is not its fastest lap.

Ford describes the result as a “van record” in the headline of its Ford Performance feature. That is Ford’s characterization; the Nürburgring listing reviewed here does not display a separate van-only category. It is most precise to call this the SuperVan’s official Nordschleife lap, or to attribute the van-record claim directly to Ford. Nürburgring record listing Ford Performance
How does the lap compare with Ford’s F-150 Lightning SuperTruck?
The SuperVan was one of two Ford electric demonstrators to complete official Nordschleife laps that day. The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck posted 6:43.482, making it faster than the SuperVan’s 6:48.393. What is the SuperVan 4.2?
It is a bespoke electric concept vehicle developed for demonstration and development, not a retail Transit configuration. Nürburgring describes it as delivering around 2,000 PS; Ford describes the SuperVan as a 2,000-horsepower electric vehicle designed for racetracks and events. A lap time is meaningful only alongside its circuit configuration, start method, vehicle category, and date. Here, Nürburgring identifies the full Nordschleife and flying-start format, lists the SuperVan as a prototype/pre-production vehicle, and dates the lap to 5 August 2025. It does not require series-production verification for prototype laps. Comparing this result with production-car times as if the vehicles competed in one class would blur an important distinction.
