Ford says it has shipped every complimentary NACS fast-charging adapter reserved by U.S. customers. The free-adapter reservation program is over, so owners who missed it—or need a replacement—should check Ford’s current product listing for availability, price, and vehicle fit.

Is Ford still sending free NACS adapters?

No. On November 3, 2025, Ford charging director Ken Williams said the company had fulfilled its commitment to deliver complimentary adapters reserved by U.S. customers. Ford identified reservation No. 139,936 as the last one. Engadget had reported in March 2025 that Ford completed shipments to U.S. customers who requested an adapter, and Ford later confirmed that all reserved units had shipped. Ford’s November 2025 update is the company’s latest fulfillment statement.

The program had a reservation deadline of August 31, 2024, and was limited to one adapter per vehicle. The historical deadline is documented in Ford’s 2024 owner notice hosted by NHTSA. Owners should not expect a new free shipment under that concluded offer.

Where can you get a Ford NACS adapter now?

Ford’s Fast Charging Adapter (NACS) product page is the place to check for current availability, price, and vehicle compatibility. Ford says the adapter was co-developed with Lectron. A $200 price was reported by Engadget on March 11, 2025, but that is a dated price and should not be treated as a current quote. Engadget’s report covered the completed shipments and that historical price.

Which Tesla Superchargers can Ford drivers use?

Ford’s charging FAQ says Ford EV drivers using the available Ford NACS adapter can access more than 25,000 designated Tesla Superchargers. Network counts and station eligibility can change, so use the Ford app to check the specific stations and route you plan to use. Vehicle compatibility and any station restrictions should be confirmed before setting out.

Access to the BlueOval Charge Network does not mean the electricity is free. Ford says network membership has no monthly fee, but customers pay for the energy used in each charging session through their Ford account. See Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network FAQ for its charging and payment guidance.

How Ford’s free-adapter program ended

  • May 2023: Ford announced an agreement with Tesla for Ford EV access to the Supercharger network and said future Ford vehicles would use the NACS connector. Ford’s announcement describes the initial agreement.
  • 2024: Ford began Supercharger access for its EV customers and offered complimentary adapters for a limited time. The owner notice set the August 31, 2024 reservation deadline and one-adapter-per-vehicle limit.
  • March 11, 2025: Engadget reported that Ford had finished shipping complimentary adapters to U.S. customers who requested them.
  • November 3, 2025: Ford said all reserved U.S. adapters had shipped and named reservation No. 139,936 as the last.

What to verify before a charging trip

  • That your Ford model and software are eligible for the station and adapter combination.
  • That the location is a designated, compatible DC fast charger—not a Tesla Destination Charger or home charger.
  • That the route, station status, and any access requirements appear in Ford’s app.
  • That you understand the session charge; network membership does not make the electricity free.
