These are the practical North American model-year ranges. A reveal date, a vehicle’s sale date, and the start of a model year are not interchangeable. Ford’s announcement describes a regional rollout rather than setting out a formal generation table. Ford’s 2014 launch announcement says the Edge had launched in North America in 2007 and that its successor would go on sale there early in 2015.
Why this timeline is specific to North America
Ford described the successor’s introduction as a staged regional rollout, so the North American dates should not be treated as a complete worldwide catalog. Availability and model naming can vary by market. Ford Mexico’s current site, for example, presents a 2026 Edge Hybrid, illustrating that the name’s availability is not uniform globally. What changed within the generations
A generation label identifies a broad vehicle period; it does not guarantee identical trims, equipment, or engines across all its model years and markets. Ford’s 2019 U.S. technical specification lists SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST. It gives the SE, SEL, and Titanium a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and the ST a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. Is 2024 the final Ford Edge model year?
For the North American timeline, 2024 is the final model year supported by the cited regional archive: Ford Mexico lists Edge pages through 2024, and Ford’s U.S. page says Edge production has ended. How to identify a specific Edge
When comparing or buying an Edge, check the vehicle’s model year, trim, engine, drivetrain, and market rather than relying on generation alone.
