The first edition, for 2025, was a two-door; for 2026, Ford made the Stroppe a four-door and deleted the two-door configuration. Ford’s current specification centers on a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, 35-inch tires and heritage-inspired styling.
What the Stroppe name represents
Ford announced the Bronco Stroppe Special Edition on October 15, 2024, presenting it as a successor to the Baja Broncos associated with builder and racer Bill Stroppe in the 1960s and 1970s. The connection is one of heritage and design intent: Ford has not described the modern Stroppe as mechanically identical to a historical Baja Bronco.
Ford Bronco brand manager Jason Hyde said that a 1971 Stroppe Baja Bronco left Bill Stroppe’s factory ready for the Baja 1000. Hyde said the modern edition’s development drew on that capability, citing its Fox Internal Bypass Dampers, standard 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and Baja G.O.A.T. Mode. These are Ford representatives’ descriptions of the vehicle’s development, not independent evaluations.
North American Design Director Gordon Platto connected the edition’s visual identity to Ford’s competition Broncos, saying the company had hinted at a Stroppe return with race vehicles after bringing the Bronco R to the Baja 1000 in 2020. He described Code Orange, Oxford White, Atlas Blue and matte black as a deliberate combination chosen for those race vehicles. The change is more than a styling update: shoppers considering the Stroppe for 2026 should expect a four-door, rather than the two-door-only 2025 edition. The body-style change is documented in Ford’s 2026 Bronco order guide.

Design and off-road equipment
The Stroppe’s visual signature uses Code Orange, Oxford White and Atlas Blue alongside matte black surfaces and Stroppe Racing badging. Ford highlights a matte black hood and swing gate, a 17-inch matte black-painted wheel design and an Atlas Blue-painted hard top. Ford says the matte hood treatment is intended to reduce sun glare.

Ford also lists steel bash plates and a heavy-duty modular front bumper as standard Stroppe equipment. The model’s heritage graphics and equipment evoke Ford’s Baja story, but the specifications alone do not establish how the SUV performs in a particular driving situation.
