What does the Dark Horse SC’s 795-hp specification include?
Ford Racing published the final output on April 23, 2026: 795 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8. Power goes through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Ford says a single technician hand-assembles each engine at its Dearborn Engine plant.

Ford introduced the car on January 14, 2026, as an in-house Ford Racing and road-car program informed by the Mustang GT3 and GTD. Its chassis equipment includes upgraded MagneRide dampers, revised springs and stabilizer bars, forged suspension links, updated knuckles and control arms, and variable traction control. Those are Ford’s descriptions of the engineering; no independent instrumented acceleration or lap-time results are established here.
What does the Track Pack add?
The Track Pack is the major hardware step beyond the standard SC. Ford lists carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, Track Pack-specific MagneRide calibration and aerodynamic changes. It also removes the rear seat. Ford Racing says the combined package changes reduce weight by about 150 pounds.

How does it compare with the Corvette Z06?
The relevant choice is not horsepower alone. The Dark Horse SC is a front-engine Mustang with factory track hardware available in the Track Pack; the Corvette Z06 is mid-engine. MotorTrend reported a $122,795 starting price for the Z06 coupe and $161,740 for a Z06 3LZ with Z07 Aero. Those are dated article-reported prices, not current dealer quotes, and the cited figures do not establish an apples-to-apples equipment or performance comparison.

For a buyer, the more useful questions are how much track equipment is wanted from the factory, whether the Track Pack’s seat delete is acceptable, and whether a front-engine Mustang or mid-engine Corvette better fits the intended use. The available evidence does not support ranking the two by lap time or overall performance.

The right configuration depends on whether that factory hardware and reduced seating utility justify the added cost.
