Ford lists the 2026 Escape at a starting MSRP of $30,350, but that is not evidence of a universal “huge price drop.” Ford says it is discontinuing the Escape “for the time being,” and Car and Driver identifies 2026 as the final model year. Any savings depend on the specific vehicle, dealer, location and offers for which you qualify.
How much does a 2026 Ford Escape cost?
Ford’s current U.S. Escape page lists a $30,350 starting MSRP for the 2026 model. Ford’s showroom listing separately gives starting prices of $33,890 for the Escape Hybrid and $35,400 for the Escape Plug-In Hybrid. These are starting prices, not guaranteed transaction prices. Ford’s Escape page and Ford’s showroom listings are the manufacturer’s references for those figures.
Ford’s MSRP disclosure says its price excludes $1,495 destination and delivery, government fees, taxes, finance charges, dealer fees, emissions testing fees and optional equipment. Ford also says the dealer determines the final price and that prices and specifications can change. Check the listing and written quote for the specific Escape you are considering rather than treating the starting MSRP as its drive-away cost. Ford’s pricing disclosure
Car and Driver lists a $31,845 starting price in its 2026 Escape review. That figure differs from Ford’s listed $30,350 starting MSRP; the listings may differ in timing or included charges. They should not be combined as though they were the same price basis.

Is Ford really discounting the Escape before it’s discontinued?
The available pricing information does not establish one current discount amount that applies nationwide, or show that every buyer can get a large reduction. A dealer may advertise a price below MSRP or a manufacturer offer may be available, but the actual amount and eligibility are specific to the vehicle, location and offer terms. Ford directs shoppers to dealers for current pricing and offers.
To judge whether an advertised deal is substantial, compare the same model year, trim, powertrain and equipment. Separate a dealer discount from a manufacturer incentive, and check whether the offer requires particular financing, a trade-in, or other eligibility. Compare the complete out-the-door quote—not just the advertised price—with a like-for-like vehicle.

Is 2026 the last year for the Ford Escape?
Ford’s Escape page says the company is discontinuing the model “for the time being.” It also says: “Though we’re discontinuing the Ford Escape for the time being, our support for it and all of our vehicles isn’t going anywhere.” That is Ford Motor Company’s official product-page wording, not a statement attributed to a named executive.
Car and Driver describes 2026 as the Escape’s final model year and says the vehicle carries over unchanged for its send-off year. The sources do not establish a return date or a replacement plan, so “for the time being” should not be read as a promise that the Escape will return. Car and Driver’s 2026 review

Can you still buy a 2026 Escape in your state?
Ford Pro says the 2026 Escape is not available for registration in California, Massachusetts, Oregon, New York, Washington and Vermont because it lacks certification for states applying California emissions requirements for that model year. The notice appears on Ford Pro’s fleet Escape page. Since that is a fleet page, retail shoppers in those states should confirm the restriction and any available options with Ford and a local dealer before relying on it.
Elsewhere, a model-year designation does not guarantee local stock. Check dealer inventory and verify the vehicle identification number, registration eligibility and the terms of any advertised offer before making a decision.

How to compare an Escape deal with another listing
- Match the vehicle: Compare model year, trim, gas, hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain, options and included equipment.
- Use the same price basis: Distinguish MSRP, advertised price and out-the-door total. Ask which destination charges, taxes, fees and add-ons are included.
- Identify the source of savings: Have the dealer show the dealer discount separately from manufacturer incentives, then review each offer’s eligibility and expiration terms.
- Compare local availability: Confirm the actual vehicle is in stock, its VIN and the state where it can be registered.
Because Ford says prices and specifications can change, confirm the current offer and full written quote with the selling dealer before comparing or signing.
