Ford’s 3.0L EcoBoost performance upgrade is a software calibration for the Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor—not an engine replacement. Ford says it raises either model to 455 hp and 536 lb-ft, but the $825 price in the 2024 announcement is no longer the current listed price: Ford Performance Parts currently lists each calibration at $850.
What the Ford 3.0L EcoBoost calibration changes
Ford describes the upgrade as a new software calibration that improves throttle response and optimizes the shift schedule. Its August 2024 announcement gave the following before-and-after figures:

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independently measured dyno results. Ford Performance Parts’ current product listings also state 455 hp and 536 lb-ft for both calibrations. Ford’s August 29, 2024 announcement provides the before-and-after figures; the Bronco Raptor listing and Ranger Raptor listing show the current stated output.
Current price: $850, not the original $825 announcement
Ford announced an $825 MSRP in August 2024. Ford Performance Parts’ current listings show a retail price of $850 for each calibration. Check the applicable product listing before purchase, since the launch announcement’s figure is historical and is not the current listed price.

Which Raptor models are eligible?

Eligibility is specific to vehicle and model year. The Bronco and Ranger calibrations are separate products, despite sharing the same stated post-calibration output. Confirm that the exact part number and model year match your vehicle using Ford’s Bronco Raptor or Ranger Raptor listing.
Installation, fuel and warranty conditions
- Included tool: Ford says the ProCal 4 tool is included with both calibrations.
- Installation and warranty: Ford says installation must be performed by a Ford dealer or an ASE/Red Seal certified technician for eligibility for its stated 3-year/36,000-mile Ford Performance Parts warranty, measured from the vehicle’s original in-service date. Review the applicable product terms for complete conditions.
- Fuel: The Bronco Raptor listing says premium fuel is required for maximum performance. That requirement is specifically stated on the Bronco listing; the available Ranger listing information does not establish the same detail.
- Transferability: Ford says the Bronco calibration and ProCal 4 tool are VIN-locked to one vehicle and are not transferable. The Ranger product’s transferability terms are not established in the listing information summarized here.
Ford’s 2024 announcement said buyers could use FordPass Rewards points toward purchase. That was a launch-era statement; current points eligibility and terms should be confirmed with Ford.

- Verify your model year, region and emissions eligibility against the exact Ford part listing.
- Compare the Ford-stated gain with your own priorities: the Ranger’s announced baseline differs from the Bronco’s, even though Ford lists the same 455 hp and 536 lb-ft after calibration.
- Include the current $850 listed price and any installation costs in your decision; the product-page price does not by itself establish the cost of installation.
