Flycon Grove electric scooter: range, charging time and running costs explained

Flycon Grove listings show 48 V and 60 V variants with different claimed range, charging times and prices. Here is how to interpret those figures and estimate your own running cost.

The Flycon Grove is a manufacturer-described low-speed electric scooter with a catalogue speed of 25 km/h. Indian vehicle listings show two reported battery variants: 48 V/30 Ah and 60 V/30 Ah. Their published range, charging time, battery capacity and ex-showroom prices differ, so the useful answer depends on the exact version a dealer is quoting.

The most important qualification is that these are catalogue and listing figures, not an independent road test. Flycon advertises up to 100 km, while variant-specific listings give separate estimates. Charging-cost figures are also calculated scenarios rather than a measured household electricity bill.

Flycon Grove specifications at a glance

The following comparison keeps each reported figure tied to its source and variant. Prices are ex-showroom listing prices, not guaranteed on-road quotations, and the range and charging figures are publisher or manufacturer specifications rather than independently verified performance.

Reported version Battery capacity Listed range Listed full-charge time Listed ex-showroom price
Grove 48 V/30 Ah 1.44 kWh 60–70 km per charge (ZigWheels listing) 3–4 hours (ZigWheels listing) ₹74,629 (BikeDekho listing)
Grove 60 V/30 Ah 1.8 kWh 80–90 km per charge (ZigWheels listing) 6–7 hours (ZigWheels listing) ₹80,957 (ZigWheels listing)

BikeDekho’s variant table reports both voltage versions, but another part of the same listing describes a 1.44 kWh lead-acid battery and 3–4-hour charging. ZigWheels separates the two versions. Flycon’s catalogue presents broad specifications rather than resolving every variant-level difference. Treat the table as a buying checklist, then have the dealer write the exact battery, charger and variant on the quotation.

Flycon’s official catalogue calls Grove a low-speed model, gives a catalogue speed of 25 km/h, and uses the wording “Range UPTO 100 KMS.” Its feature panel also describes 80–100 km per charge and lists a 1.8 kWh figure. That manufacturer claim should not be substituted for the separate listing estimates above: the catalogue does not state clearly how its top-line range maps to each voltage version.

What range can you expect from a Grove?

If you are asking, “What is the range offered by Flycon Grove on a full charge?”, the answer depends on the battery variant and on which source is being quoted. ZigWheels lists the 48 V/30 Ah version at 60–70 km and the 60 V/30 Ah version at 80–90 km. Flycon’s catalogue advertises a maximum of 100 km, but that is a manufacturer marketing claim and not an independently measured result.

Why the published figures are not a guarantee

Real distance varies with rider mass, passenger or cargo, speed, hills, traffic, tyre pressure, temperature, battery age and the amount of reserve a rider is willing to use. None of the reviewed sources supplies an owner-tested route, a standardized laboratory cycle or a measured reserve percentage for Grove. Therefore, use the listing range to compare variants, not to promise that a particular commute will always be possible.

Plan a route with a safety margin

Map the total distance you need between charging opportunities, including the return journey and detours. Avoid planning to arrive with the battery indicator at zero. A practical dealer question is whether the quoted range is measured with one rider, at what speed, on what terrain and with which battery chemistry. Ask for those conditions in writing because a number without test conditions is difficult to compare.

How long does the Flycon Grove take to charge?

The reader question “How much time will Flycon Grove take to charge?” also has a variant-specific answer. The ZigWheels specification page lists 3–4 hours for the smaller battery version and 6–7 hours for the larger one. Flycon’s catalogue gives a general charging span of approximately 3–7 hours depending on battery size.

Why charging times differ between listings

Charging duration depends on battery capacity, charger output, battery state of charge, temperature and the charging system supplied with the scooter. The longer estimate attached to the 60 V version is consistent with a larger nominal pack, but the available catalogue does not publish enough charger detail to calculate an exact session time. Do not assume that a charger from one version is suitable for the other.

Questions to ask before taking delivery

  • Is the scooter the 48 V/30 Ah or 60 V/30 Ah version shown on the invoice?
  • What charger output and connector are included?
  • Is the stated time for a completely depleted battery or for the manufacturer’s recommended charging window?
  • Can the charger be used from a standard domestic socket, and are any electrical limits specified?
  • What indicator or automatic shut-off behavior should the owner expect when charging is complete?

These details matter more than a single headline number if you must recharge between work shifts or overnight.

Battery capacity and the lead-acid specification conflict

Nominal capacity is reported as 1.44 kWh for the 48 V/30 Ah version and 1.8 kWh for the 60 V/30 Ah version. Those values correspond to the voltage multiplied by the 30 Ah rating, but they do not reveal how much energy is usable in everyday riding or how much electricity the charger draws from the wall.

BikeDekho labels the 1.44 kWh battery as lead-acid in one specification block, while its variant table lists both voltage options. The reviewed Flycon catalogue and ZigWheels pages do not settle the chemistry discrepancy. Battery chemistry affects weight, charging behavior, maintenance expectations and replacement cost, so ask the dealer to identify the chemistry and capacity on the sale document rather than relying on a generic web specification.

Flycon Grove running cost: what ₹0.12 per kilometre means

ZigWheels publishes a running-cost estimate of ₹0.12 per kilometre, using an electricity tariff of ₹6.5 per unit and assumed travel of 50 km per day. It also shows ₹179 per month under that scenario. This is a publisher calculation, not a measured electricity bill, and it is not a nationwide tariff or a guaranteed ownership cost.

Why your result can be different

Your electricity price may be higher or lower, and the scooter will not necessarily use the same amount of energy at the wall on every charge. Charging losses, battery condition, temperature, route gradients, traffic and riding style all change the energy taken from the socket. The available sources do not provide a wall-meter measurement for Grove, so nominal battery capacity alone cannot support a precise personal cost-per-kilometre claim.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Calculate an estimate from your own bill

  1. Record the electricity tariff you actually pay per kilowatt-hour (often called a unit), including any applicable slab or time-of-use rate.
  2. Measure energy drawn from the wall for a representative full charge with a plug-in energy meter, if your electrical setup allows safe measurement.
  3. Multiply the measured kilowatt-hours by your tariff to obtain the cost of that charge.
  4. Record the distance covered before the next comparable recharge, rather than relying only on the dashboard range.
  5. Divide charge cost by kilometres ridden. Repeat over several normal trips and use an average, because one short ride can distort the result.

For example, the ZigWheels figure should be read exactly as “₹0.12 per kilometre under ₹6.5 per unit and 50 km per day,” not as a fixed price that every Grove owner will pay.

Purchase price and the real on-road budget

The reported ex-showroom prices are ₹74,629 for the 48 V/30 Ah listing and ₹80,957 for the 60 V/30 Ah listing. They are time-sensitive listing figures and may vary by city, tax treatment, registration, insurance, delivery charges and dealer discount. The final amount payable can therefore be different from either number.

Request a written, itemized on-road quotation showing the scooter variant, battery chemistry and capacity, charger, registration or documentation charges, insurance, accessories and any delivery fee. Compare quotations only when they include the same items; otherwise a lower headline price may simply omit costs that appear later.

Which Grove version fits your use?

Choose the smaller reported version when

  • Your daily route is short enough to leave a substantial reserve from the lower listing range.
  • You value the shorter listed charging window and can recharge regularly.
  • The dealer’s quotation confirms the 48 V/30 Ah battery, charger and chemistry you expect.
  • The lower ex-showroom price matters more than maximum stated range.

Consider the larger reported version when

  • You need more distance between charging opportunities and the dealer can document the 60 V/30 Ah specification.
  • You have a routine that can accommodate the longer listed full-charge time.
  • The price difference is acceptable after comparing complete on-road quotations.
  • You understand that the 80–90 km listing range is still a claim, not an independently verified guarantee.

Do not select solely from the manufacturer’s “up to 100 km” wording. Match the version, route, charging opportunity and documented equipment to your actual use.

Verification checklist before paying a deposit

  1. Confirm the model identity. Ask whether the invoice says Grove 48 V/30 Ah or Grove 60 V/30 Ah, and make sure the physical scooter and battery label agree.
  2. Confirm battery chemistry and capacity. Resolve the lead-acid description and obtain the answer in writing, including the stated kWh or Ah rating.
  3. Inspect the charger. Record its output rating, connector, warranty coverage and the expected time for a complete charge.
  4. Clarify warranty terms. Ask what is covered for the battery, charger, motor and controller, for how long, and whether capacity degradation has a stated threshold. Current warranty terms were not established in the reviewed listings.
  5. Get the local on-road price. Ask the dealer to separate ex-showroom price, registration, insurance, taxes, delivery and accessories.
  6. Check service access. Use Flycon’s company contact and dealer route to identify the nearest authorized support point and ask about parts availability.
  7. Test the practical fit. Check seating, loading space, braking feel, turning radius and whether your home has a safe location for the supplied charger.
  8. Set a realistic range expectation. Describe your route, hills, traffic, rider weight and passenger or cargo plans to the dealer, then ask which published test condition supports the quoted number.

How to interpret the available evidence

Flycon’s catalogue is the primary source for the model designation, low-speed classification, 25 km/h catalogue speed and its broad range claim. BikeDekho and ZigWheels provide variant tables, prices, capacities, charging estimates and the modeled running-cost figure. Because those pages do not agree on every specification, the safest approach is to treat each number as source- and variant-specific.

No reviewed source supplies an independent range test, a measured wall-energy test, a named spokesperson quotation, verified current warranty terms or a guaranteed local electricity rate. Those are not reasons to dismiss the scooter; they are reasons to obtain the missing information before committing money.

Bottom line for a prospective Grove buyer

Flycon Grove is best understood as a 25 km/h low-speed electric scooter offered in two reported battery versions. The smaller listing has the lower price and shorter charging estimate; the larger listing has the higher nominal capacity and longer stated range. Flycon’s up-to-100-km catalogue language is broader than the variant figures and should be treated as a manufacturer claim. Likewise, ₹0.12 per kilometre is a conditional ZigWheels calculation, not a universal running cost. Buy only after the dealer confirms the exact variant, battery chemistry, charger, warranty, service support and complete on-road price.
