The 2025 Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Chronograph is a deliberately dramatic racing watch, not a subtle everyday chronograph. Its major update is the new openworked dial, which exposes more of the automatic movement while retaining the T-Race family’s oversized 45 mm case, brake-disc-inspired bezel, motorcycle-engine details, and MotoGP-themed presentation box.

What changed for 2025?
Tissot has not reinvented the T-Race case for 2025. Instead, the important change is on the dial. The previous model used a more conventional closed blue tri-counter layout; the 2025 edition uses an openworked construction that reveals portions of the movement beneath the dial.
#1 Best Overall
- 22 mm silicone strap
- Designed to fit 22 mm lugs
- Stainless steel interchangeable quick release standard buckle
- Compatible with the following watch collection starting with: T116.617, T120.417, T125.617, T116.410, T106.417, T106.407, T070.405, T035.410, T116.407, T129.410, T086.407, T035.407, T123.610, T124.427, T091.420, T926.410, T106.427, T078.641, T101.610, T044.614, T101.617, T131.617

That change makes the watch feel more mechanical and more theatrical. It also suits the T-Race’s existing visual language: the design is already built around speed, exposed machinery, and motorcycle hardware. The blue tachymeter and sub-counter tracks add contrast against the predominantly black treatment, while oversized hands and applied markers are filled with Super-LumiNova.
The 2025 model is also no-date. That removes the date display and the earlier arrangement’s date-corrector detail at approximately 10 o’clock, leaving a cleaner but busier-looking openworked dial.

A brake-disc bezel and motorcycle-inspired case
The bezel is shaped to recall a motorcycle brake disc, one of the clearest cues in the T-Race design. The theme continues through the crown guard, pushers, visible screws, and other case details that are intended to suggest engine components and racing hardware.
The black PVD-finished stainless-steel case gives the watch a dark, technical appearance. A textured black silicone strap carries the same idea onto the wrist, while the blue detailing prevents the watch from becoming visually flat.
This is not a watch designed to disappear under a shirt cuff. At 45 mm across and approximately 14.79 mm thick, it is objectively large. The diameter is only part of the issue: the bezel, pushers, crown protection, openworked dial, and racing graphics all increase its visual presence. It will suit someone who wants a statement sports watch far better than someone looking for a restrained daily chronograph.
The helmet-shaped box is part of the appeal
Tissot supplies the limited edition in a helmet-shaped presentation box. That is more than a decorative packaging detail: it makes the MotoGP connection immediate and gives the watch a stronger collector identity than a standard branded box would.
Buyers considering a pre-owned example should confirm that the helmet box is included, along with the warranty documentation and any other original accessories. Packaging alone does not establish authenticity, but missing limited-edition accessories can affect the completeness and desirability of a collector purchase.

Valjoux A05.951 movement: what it does
Inside is Tissot’s Valjoux A05.951, an automatic cam-lever chronograph described as an evolution of the ETA/Valjoux 7750 family and associated with the 7753 configuration. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a stated 68-hour power reserve.
The reserve is one of the movement’s practical advantages. If the watch is removed on Friday and remains unworn through much of the weekend, it has a better chance of still running when picked up again than a conventional approximately two-day automatic movement. Actual running time can vary with the watch’s state of wind and condition, so the 68-hour figure should be treated as the stated specification rather than a guarantee for every example.
The movement also uses a Nivachron balance spring, intended to improve resistance to magnetic fields. That is useful modern protection against a common source of mechanical-watch rate disruption, although it does not make the watch immune to magnetism or eliminate the need for servicing.
A transparent caseback shows the movement and its skeletonized rotor. The openworked dial and display back therefore provide mechanical visibility from both sides, which is central to the 2025 edition’s appeal.
Chronograph layout and the main usability concern
The watch displays hours, minutes, small seconds, central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter, and a 12-hour counter. The arrangement gives it the expected motorsport timing functions while preserving the busy, layered appearance of the T-Race collection.
There is, however, a legitimate legibility caveat. An independent published first look noted that the 12-hour hand at 6 o’clock does not have a clearly defined track of its own. That can make it difficult to read elapsed hours quickly, especially against an already complex openworked background.
This is a design observation from the published review, not a claim of independent accuracy or hands-on long-term testing. It is best understood as a trade-off: the openworked dial increases visual drama, but the additional transparency and graphics can make some information less immediately readable than it would be on a conventional closed dial.

Sport-watch specifications
The T-Race has a 100 m water-resistance rating, sapphire crystal, and a rubber-like textured silicone strap. Those specifications support its sports-watch positioning. The rating is suitable for everyday exposure to rain, splashes, and surface water when the watch is properly maintained, but water resistance is not permanent and does not remove the need to check the crown, pushers, gaskets, and service condition before swimming.
As with any chronograph, operating the pushers underwater is best avoided unless the manufacturer specifically permits it. A used example should be checked for a current water-resistance test rather than judged solely by its original specification.
2025 launch price versus current market prices
The reported launch prices for the 2025 limited edition were $2,095 in the United States, €2,175 in Europe, and CHF 1,965 in Switzerland. These are launch figures from the 2025 release context, not a guaranteed current retail price in 2026.
During research, four listings for the exact reference T141.462.27.041.00 were visible on Chrono24 at approximately $2,297, $2,412, $2,509, and $2,878, before shipping. Those figures are displayed asking prices, not verified transaction prices. They also do not prove authenticity, warranty coverage, condition, or seller reliability. The researched listings were from private sellers, so they should not be treated as equivalent to buying from an authorized retailer.
If you are comparing a secondary-market example, check all of the following before treating the price as attractive:
- Seller history, identity, and platform protections
- Authenticity procedures and whether the watch can be inspected
- Condition of the case, PVD coating, crystal, pushers, and strap
- Whether the helmet box, warranty card, papers, and original accessories are included
- Remaining manufacturer warranty and service history
- Import duties, taxes, shipping, insurance, and return terms
- Whether the reference number on the watch and paperwork is T141.462.27.041.00

Do not confuse it with the 2026 MotoGP model
Tissot’s MotoGP line remains active, but the current official U.S. collection listing is for a different watch: the 2026 T-Race MotoGP automatic model, reference T141.462.27.051.00. That watch is limited to 2,026 pieces, listed at $2,375 in the United States, and uses a red strap.

It is not the 2025 model reviewed here. The 2025 reference is T141.462.27.041.00, limited to 2,025 pieces, and shown with a black textured strap. Year, reference number, strap color, and production count are essential when comparing listings. A retailer’s current MotoGP category page should not be used as evidence that the 2025 reference is still in stock.

The replaceable rubber strap, warranty, registration, and authorized-service pathways are useful parts of the ownership picture. Before buying, confirm the warranty terms for your region and whether the seller can provide the original warranty documentation. For a used watch, ask when it was purchased, whether it has been opened or serviced, and whether the seller can document its current water resistance.
A replacement strap should be sourced through Tissot or a reputable authorized channel where possible. The black strap is part of the watch’s original visual balance, and an incorrect replacement may not fit the case or preserve the intended appearance. Current service availability and any referral or affiliate relationship should be checked locally rather than assumed.
Who should buy the 2025 T-Race MotoGP?
This watch makes the most sense for a buyer who wants:
- A conspicuous MotoGP or motorcycle-racing design
- An openworked dial rather than a traditional solid chronograph dial
- A long stated power reserve in a relatively accessible automatic chronograph
- A limited production number tied directly to the 2025 model year
- A complete collector presentation, including the helmet-shaped box
It is a weaker choice for someone who prioritizes compact dimensions, discreet styling, quick chronograph readability, or a watch that can transition easily from formal clothing to casual wear. The 45 mm case and almost 15 mm thickness are not minor details; they define how the watch will wear. The openworked dial is also a matter of taste and may reduce at-a-glance clarity compared with a simpler design.

The 2025 Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Chronograph succeeds by leaning into its identity. The brake-disc bezel, black PVD case, exposed movement, blue racing accents, silicone strap, and helmet box make it unmistakably a MotoGP collector piece. Its meaningful update is not a new case architecture but the added mechanical theater of the openworked dial.
The A05.951 movement’s stated 68-hour reserve, Nivachron balance spring, sapphire crystal, and 100 m water resistance give the spectacle a useful technical foundation. The compromises are equally clear: a large wrist presence, loud styling, and a published concern about reading the 12-hour chronograph counter.
