The Ferrari Roma Spider is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive 2+ grand tourer: a fast, open-top Ferrari designed to balance V8 performance with long-distance comfort, rather than to serve as a track-focused supercar. Ferrari quotes 620 cv, 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed above 320 km/h. For U.S. buyers, Car and Driver lists a 2026 guide MSRP of $279,965 and identifies 2026 as the Roma’s final model year before the Amalfi takes its place in 2027.
What the Roma Spider is like to drive
Car and Driver rates the Roma 9/10 and describes it as a softer, comfort-oriented grand tourer than Ferrari’s track-focused models. The publication praises the styling and twin-turbo V8, while noting light steering and a gearbox that is eager to upshift. Those are the reviewer’s impressions, not a promise that every driver will experience the car the same way.
The result is a convertible whose performance figures are supercar-fast, but whose stated character is more suited to enjoyable road travel than relentless circuit driving. Its V8 is mounted at the front, and power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Soft top and everyday practicality
Roof operation
The Roma Spider uses a five-layer fabric soft top. Ferrari says it opens or closes in 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 60 km/h. The company also says the roof’s acoustic insulation performs comparably to a retractable hardtop; that comparison is Ferrari’s claim, not an independent test finding. A movable wind deflector integrated into the rear seatback is designed to help manage airflow with the roof down.
Seats and luggage
The cabin is configured as a 2+ with four listed seats, but the rear seats are best treated as occasional-use space. Car and Driver describes them as useful for short trips when the front occupants’ seat positions leave room. They should not be mistaken for full-size adult seating. Ferrari lists 255 L of boot capacity, a useful figure to consider when deciding whether the car can handle your usual luggage.

2026 pricing and model-year context
Car and Driver lists the 2026 Ferrari Roma at a U.S. guide MSRP of $279,965. The publication says the Roma carried over unchanged for 2026, which is its final model year, and that the Ferrari Amalfi replaces it for 2027. This is guide pricing, not a Ferrari-published U.S. price list or a dealer quote. It does not establish option costs, taxes, actual transaction prices, dealer inventory, or pricing in other countries. Check a local Ferrari dealer for current availability and a market-specific quote.
Fuel economy
Car and Driver lists 17 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. These are the figures on its guide page, not results from a completed independent 75-mph fuel-economy test of the Roma Spider; the publication says it would update its route figures if it gets the opportunity.
