Ferrari’s technical sheet lists a naturally aspirated 6,496 cc V12 producing 840 cv, with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Its claimed 0–100 km/h time is 2.85 seconds and its maximum speed is above 340 km/h. Prices vary sharply by context: the reported Italian launch price, a US publication-listed MSRP, and a later $26 million charity auction are not interchangeable measures of what an SP3 costs.
What is the Ferrari Daytona SP3?
Ferrari presented the Daytona SP3 at the 2021 Ferrari Finali Mondiali in Mugello as the third model in its Icona series. The name references Ferrari’s first-three finish at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. Ferrari says the design draws on sports prototypes including the 330 P4, 350 Can-Am, and 512 S; the SP3 is a road car inspired by those racers, not a replica or a competition car. Its targa body has a removable hard top. Ferrari’s launch announcement explains the concept and design.
Car and Driver describes it as a two-seat, rear-wheel-drive targa. Its review praises the car’s design and performance and characterizes its first-drive handling as engaging, while noting the extreme price and sold-out allocation. Those are the publication’s road-test impressions, distinct from Ferrari’s performance claims. Car and Driver’s review and photo gallery provide its assessment and images.

Car and Driver lists 829 hp for the US-market car and provides its own estimated performance figures. That horsepower figure uses a different unit and convention from Ferrari’s 840 cv; the two should be attributed to their respective sources rather than treated as a direct contradiction. Ferrari specifications have appeared in documents with some dimension differences, so the measurements above follow the cited technical sheet rather than combining versions.
How much does a Ferrari Daytona SP3 cost?
There is no single price that represents every market or transaction. These published figures refer to different dates and circumstances:

|---|---|---|
| €2 million | Reported Italian launch price including taxes | Europa Press reported this on November 22, 2021, and said all 599 original allocations had already been acquired. Europa Press launch-era report. |

| $26 million | Completed charity auction sale of a one-of-one Tailor Made Daytona SP3 | Ferrari announced the 2025 result as a record auction result for a new Ferrari. It concerns the additional “599+1” car, not an ordinary original-series allocation. Ferrari’s 2025 auction announcement. |
The $26 million charity result does not establish a representative resale value for other SP3s. The available published figures do not establish a current resale range. When comparing a specific offer or sale, check its date, country and tax treatment, whether it is an asking price or completed sale, and the car’s series, specification, mileage, condition, and provenance.
How many Ferrari Daytona SP3s were made?
Ferrari’s original planned run was 599 cars. Ferrari later described its one-off Tailor Made charity car as “599+1,” distinguishing that additional car from the original series. The additional car’s auction result should not be confused with the original allocation price or treated as a typical market transaction.
